I don't even own wonderdraft and I just watched this whole thing, this was great! I think I'll have to get wonderdraft and try this, I've always wanted a map that looks good, super psyched to try this.
I love wonderdraft. A few drawbacks is map sizing, especially for close ups. or Blow ups. I wish an auto scaler would be developed. Im not great at map calculations. lol And then my 2nd observation is topography. I wish features would be more from looking from top down .. meaning mountains would be raises in land level (if I am making sense) than a mountain symbol. also adding layers for weather (even fault lines) or population centers or road systems or fauna flora locations. maybe even as far as culture and or religious spread over a certain territory. and lastly either a poles feature and or a globe feature.
You can do all that but it takes extra steps. Make a base line map and make copies then make one for plate tectonics, weather, everything else then layer it... but yeah I wish that stuff was built in and you didn't have to get so technical and creative

When I started watching the video I assumed you already had lots of subscribers and frequent viewers based on the quality you packed into this so when I heard that you only had 500 at the time of making this video I had to check to see. As of writing this comment you have 748 subscribers. I want to say man, that you've got a knack for this kind of thing plus a very nice voice to boot. If it's something you want to pursue as a career, just keep at it you'll get there for sure. I just subscribed myself and I can't wait to see where you go. I see that you've made lots of tutorial videos on top of the ones where you are showcasing your projects and from what it seems you've got a rather large portfolio of things you can do. So even if TH-cam isn't something you want to pursue you can definitely find a good career with the skills you have under your toolbelt. I hope you are having a good day, and good luck with everything moving forward.
@@AvantNovis I'm fiddling with it now, making a map for a table top game. So far, so good. Just need to figure out how to darken landmarks, city symbols and such so they'll show up more readily on my map.
Nice! I'm just getting into WONDERDRAFT, but my PC is a bit of a dog I'm afraid. Up til now nothing I do has really needed the horsepower but I'll probably get a new one.
It looked really good until the forests were added, I'm not sure why but it just doesn't look right. Not sure if its because the symbols are bigger than the mountain symbols or if the forest clusters seem to small. Something doesn't look right but I can't place what it is.
Strange thing. in my asset files where you put the example file, nothing is there. But Wonderdraft works perfectly fine. Adding files in like you do does nothing and I think it's because nothing is there except for the file I added.
The "start" screen will come up. In the middle of the start screen you will see the little dog, and the title of Wonderdraft, with a feather to the right side of it. Underneath the feather will be the software's current version. Also in the top right of the screen, it will show you if your software is up to date.
When I made my map I just said screw it and went for what looks cool. It makes sense for the book I'm writing, great war eons ago jacked up magic in the world now the climate is out of wack.

I think you nailed it the forest symbols were to big the detail needed could not be added. Please keep the comments coming it rly helps a lot
