As a professional plumber, and a long time admirer of frank Lloyd Wright every sense I was introduced to the Robie house in the 5th grade, I can’t help to notice that these videos never focus on the kitchens and bathrooms. And if they do, it’s usually very vague! All though I’ve heard multiple reasons to why that is, I still can’t help but to be desperate to know what kind of plumbing fixtures/ faucets he chose in his homes. ✨✨✨

I know it has been a year, but just in case you read this. When touring Taliesin, someone asked the guide about the bathrooms. The guide replied that the bathrooms where very plain with Kohler fixtures. She said it seemed that it was intentionally absent of design and they did not include them in the tour. It makes sense as I do not believe there is anything unintentional in his designs.
At Cedar Rock in Iowa the bathroom was all stainless steel. It was either inspired by train or airline bathrooms and maybe even manufactured by them in one piece. It was very small, maybe 5x5 if even that.
I too am a long time Wright admirer. Real genius.

it has been noted by several of FLW clients that the end results were not "practical" for everyday living. and many sold them. But with modern tech, you could modernize the lines and the drains. money solves all problems. just like the earthquake damage that was taken care of and the various restorations that have saved this gem.

Absolutely amazing. once again we see FLW blow our minds away. where do you begin. Thank god they saved this masterpiece of art. The fireplace is insane !! I read that at one time they were going to demolish this architectural legend!!

I'm puzzled by the choice of background "music" that has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with ANYTHING "Wright", his client or the design aspects so appealingly created and executed by Mr. Wright.
Who were the "producers" of that choice and did they run it by any of the "higher-ups"?
My wife and I were able to view the exterior on a vacation from the Midwest.
An amazing setting for a monumental statement of how to live in Hollywood back in the "day"!
    Thank you for showing us.

I couldn’t agree with you more. I visited this house over a dozen years ago and it was absolutely incredible in every way. This music and the hosts really damage the entire look and feel.

Cannot even imagine what that lot would cost today! As usual, beautiful house.

I love the genius of F.LL. Wright, in all its design aspects including mystery. I wonder (out of curiosity) if those marks are not Masonic symbols. Thank you.

The fireplace idea was genius because most of the house is made from wood, even if you drain the water you could put sand into it so the fire wouldn't spread if I ever build a house I'm going to use that idea.

Hmmm, maybe its just me but I failed to see the resemblance of the house to hollyhock flower. Maybe I'll look again.

Not quite totally "unique", in 1916 FLW designed a similar type residence in Japan for Yamamoro

The house always reminded me of a temple that housed a cult.
