I wanted to do a video on how girls drop hints because I've noticed it so much lately! Not only from myself, but my girlfriends who are in long term relationships and are ready to settle down. Whether they're dropping hints for their boyfriends to propose, or letting their husbands know they're ready to have a baby, it's funny how many different ways I've seen women drop hints: subtle, passive aggressive, direct, ultimatums, via rap song. THERE ARE SO MANY POSSIBILITIES.

But, something I want to add that's not directed at you in particular but the idea of "not believing in the institution of marriage" in general... that's something that I see a lot of men saying more and more, while most women still want to ultimately get married. Which makes sense: divorce is quite common and a lot of guys feel jilted by the institution now. While most of the female-directed (as in directed TO females, not directed by), especially the media for young girls, presents marriage as an ultimate goal, a reward, the happily ever after. Think of how many movies, especially chick flicks, end in the main character getting married. I mean, fuck, there's a reason that a car driving off into the sunset with a "Just Married" sign at the back is a tired movie cliche. Not to mention that society tends to be outright dismissive of women who say they don't want kids, on top of that. Ask any woman who's decided not to have them, and most people she tells this too don't believe her or don't believe that she'll stick to it, that one day her biological urges will catch up to her and she'll get baby fever, or one day she'll regret it after it's too late. That got a little wordier than I intended is that my point is that girls are socialised by our society to want marriage, so for all you guys who never want to get married, or never want to have kids, you have to be prepared to find a woman who can understand that. That sort of thing can be the cause of break-ups, so you either have to be ready to negotiate or find a girl who agrees with you or is willing to negotiate on her side. And a lot of women feel that marriage and children is an unsaid and non-negotiable end-game, so if anyone is thinking they want what Adam here has instead of marriage... that's absolutely wonderful for you, but make sure you talk about it before you get in too deep.

Brynn, not sure if Australia has an equivalent but most states in America have their own "common law marriage" laws, which basically say if you meet certain criteria then you become legally married even of you have no license or have had no ceremony. The laws vary by state. In some you must not only live together but you must file taxes together and present yourself as married to friends and associates. From what I hear California is a little more arbitrary and if you simply live as a couple for a certain time you are considered common law married. What this really means is if you break up then standard divorce laws apply concerning property and finances and perhaps alimony. Does Australia have anything like that, and if so what is it called?

Timothy DeLaGhetto is a little bit of a god around the ladies honestly. It's so natural and it comes out great. A lot of guys can't hang with girls and it's that comfortable and fun without creating an apparent and sometimes just really awkward sexual tension. Talented guy.

Most guys I am friends with can hang comfortably with female friends. If you work in customer service, you learn to be comfortable with unknown females too. It just comes with maturity and frequency. Whether you are attracted to them or not, just respect them as individuals and have fun. If you don't make every second about how you should be kissing them or whether they are judging you, you'll be fine.

I feel like as children it's ingrained in our minds that marriage is the ultimate happy ending, but realistically speaking marriage isn't for every one. I've always thought I want to be married, but I feel like a lot of people fall into this rut where they're not in love with their spouse, but just like to have someone there... Or maybe that's just life?

Marriage shouldn't be the ultimate happy ending, it should just be the start of something great, imo. That rut is probably just what happens in every relationship, even the most happy/successful ones. I've read from some alleged older couples that they're no longer "in love" in quite the same way as when they were young, but they still love each other. After a while, passion dissipates somewhat and is replaced by comfort. I don't think this is a bad thing. "Just" having someone around seems very human to me. *Requiring* that special someone for comfort also seems normal, especially if that relationship lasts. Hope I didn't botch any of my words.

Bradley Steen I think that's some old stereotype that just doesn't apply to everyone. I know a lot of girls that take everything into their hands and guys that are just too shy to do it. There are more passive and more active people. I am more passive, my boyfriend also. It's kind of a miracle that we actually ended up being a couple. It was some sort of teamwork. Because both-relationship and marriage are a two way street. If the guy proposes, it shows that he also loves the woman so much that he is willing to give her the status and security of a marriage. When a woman asks-you may never know if the guy was really that into it. It`s like asking for stuff that shouldn`t be asked. for example: "why can`t women ask flowers if they want them so badly"-asking would kind of defeat the purpose of the act- you could never be sure if it was a sincere expression of love/appreciation or he did because she told him.
