Imagine having the talent to not only write so beautifully, but to turn up at a radio station and with just a guitar and that voice produce this, its masterful. What a special talent.
3.9k people who need some serious hearing tests. OK I get some people just aren't into country music, but this guy is just pure talent, raw and beautiful sound. They need to take there thumbs down to the talentless,so called superstars, that the second they are live on stage, you wonder how they found fame. Stapleton is in this for the music and u can hear that every time. He is playing in my household and in the car on the school runs daily and it never gets old
Gotta admit, I’d never heard this song until last week. We were backcountry hiking on the JMT and made a resupply stop at VVR backcountry lodge. They had a fire pit and a ‘house’ guitar. A guy from our group picked up the guitar and played this song. Guess you had to be there, but we t was really amazing. I get that 99% of people have no idea what the JMT is or VVR but they’re America.

I'm here after hearing the Luke Combs cover. I've never heard it before and Luke did a pretty damn good job. Hearing Chris is on another level. Impeccable timing, perfect pitch, such effortlessness.
I just have to say... I've absolutely loved music from the day I was born but this man's vocals just move through your entire soul like a caress from God. No other vocalist has ever compared. Unbelievable.
I’ve been coming back to this for years & listening….. still probably the best acoustic performer I’ve ever heard. Never seen him live…. I will. By God I will. One day.
Well, as a fan of 70's and 80's music, I often complain that there is no good music being made today. I'm happy to say Chris Stapleton proves me wrong. He's as good as anyone from any era.
I’m from the 60’s, 70’s, and so on- yep I am old (69) and I heard his songs on my radio one day during my long commute and I just can’t get enough! Fantastic writer and true soul country singer. Actually should say a great singer period!!
Takes me back to every heartbreak and wondering if they ever regret saying goodbye… was it even love?? 2023 these years are going by and everyone is further apart than ever.. music brings me back..
How did this song not end up on my radar after all these years? I absolutely love this. So, I have been exploring Chris Stapleton's Music on my Reaction Channel and someone requested this song, spoiler alert, I fell in love with this story HARD!!! What I love, other than the passionate singing and guitar strumming, is the story. I love that the question, "What are you listening to?" is a decoy from what he is ACTUALLY wanting to know. The real question behind this song is, Are you hurting just like me? are you over me? Are you in the healing process? Are you still thinking of me? or... Have you found a new love? Is our break up the best thing that's happened to you and now you're happy and singing along to some new catchy tune? Are you in love with someone new? Have you forgotten me? Is the memory of me fading in your mind? Am I a torn out page in your story? POWERFUL SONG!!!! BRILLIANT!!!
As good a performer as he and his wife are they are even better people. Two of my relatives work with him - and will continue as long as he is still performing
Max Bruch a Classical music composer of the 19th and 20th centuries said that. "A good folk tune is worth more than 200 works of art. "There is nothing to compare with the feeling, power, beauty, and originality of folk music". Im not saying that anyone should need these words from a more "intellectual" perspective to have respect for folk music but damn its pretty to get recognition just about anywhere.
The people that gave it a thumbs down didn't take a second to listen to it..!!! Obviously..!!!. They just assumed it was Live & were skipping through songs..!!! Had they listened.. a thumbs up... 1,000 %...
Roger Sadler young man I was born in 1974 and listen to all kinds of music I'm everywhere from Motorhead Metallica Merle Haggard Willie Nelson but the thing is why you like it is because all music besides classical came from the Blues Rolling Stones Led Zeppelin hello I'll tell you right now that even Motorhead came from the Blues

Trust me there's people out there that have been playing guitar for 20 years who don't have what he has. This man has spent years perfecting his craft. So...I never heard this man before, until this moment. I'm crying...such beautiful lyrics and his voice soothes my soul. This is amazing...and now I'm his newest fan. ❤
Check out some of his old stuff with the Steeldrivers like blue side of the mountain or sticks that make thunder(which is a song about the civil war)….this man is a national treasure!! He also wrote Josh turners big hit your man!!
@@SonyaSuza he also done a great cover for prince after he passed, has a great song with Miranda lambert about a dog, and there’s live performances of his version of “your man” which he retained the rights to perform. Nfs if you’d call it a cover considering he wrote it lol 🤷♂️
Still one of the best songs I’ve ever heard. Taking the standard break up song and writing his own version of what he thinks of the most. Epic. Most people after a break up, want to know if the other person is sad or talking to someone knew, but true music lovers wonder... what are they listening to?
She said coldly as the shtf " I get it you identify with the song so what"? She had been f ing an acquaintance of mine for at least one year. Shaking my head still on that. Cold as ice that bitch is!! Y'all have no idea. I'm hoping she doesn't have to resort to that now. That she has found the one that won't draw that response. Long shot for sure. None the less I have a hard time not caring, in a different way. 3 yrs together. It doesn't just go totally away. Even under those f ed up conditions. Anyhow...........
Melisa Schutt ray has a beautiful tone...his mellow voice was nice, it was unsuspecting...i thought he would have a growl of a voice...i’m definitely gonna download...thanks again...

@@dustinvictory3147 I'm glad I found it too. It resonated with my broken heart, that's for sure. Thank you for the good wishes. 💜
Check out some of his old stuff with the Steeldrivers like blue side of the mountain or sticks that make thunder(which is a song about the civil war)….this man is a national treasure!! He also wrote Josh turners big hit your man!!
@@Legion-xq8eo thank you for the recommendations...I'll gladly check those out. 💜
@@SonyaSuza he also done a great cover for prince after he passed, has a great song with Miranda lambert about a dog, and there’s live performances of his version of “your man” which he retained the rights to perform. Nfs if you’d call it a cover considering he wrote it lol 🤷♂️
He blows me away! One song after the next- his talent stupefies me.
100% right
I come back month after month. This will never get old. Especially for us guitar players.
2024 anyone?
Greatest live performance ever
@@Joe2ultramaga I agree
Was listening to this at 6 and I’m almost 18 now man… time flies😢
🙌
Love Chris
If my neighbors haven't heard this song yet, they have now 🤣. Such a good version.
Doesnt get any better than this real pure talent ❤
Talent, hidden away!
Incredible!
Still one of the best songs I’ve ever heard. Taking the standard break up song and writing his own version of what he thinks of the most. Epic. Most people after a break up, want to know if the other person is sad or talking to someone knew, but true music lovers wonder... what are they listening to?
You said it perfect Tessa kinda the way your pic is perfect Hi sweetie
ROTFLMFAO!😂😂😂😂😂nice pic!
Hmmm so realistic, nnnnnnot.
It sure hit me after a break up he has music for it all new relationships old ones the whole spectrum
Masterclass performance. Very few have this kind of talent.
first off how in the hell could this man, this song, or anything associated have a thumb down...i ♥️ it...his music moves me...
Ck out ray lamontagne ... let it be me
Melisa Schutt for sure...thanks for suggestion...
Melisa Schutt ray has a beautiful tone...his mellow voice was nice, it was unsuspecting...i thought he would have a growl of a voice...i’m definitely gonna download...thanks again...

If this doesn't reach down into your heart and touch your soul nothing will.
I'm not a big country music fan but damn I could listen to him all day long. This man definitely has soul!
Ck out ray lamontagne . . Let it be me
Melisa Schutt , Ray does that song worry or something like that , heart melter
Took the words right out of my mouth.
check out some reaction vids from Hip Hop only fans. 1 of my favs is (no life shaq) his reaction to Tenn Whiskey is priceless! BTW out of 30to40 vids I haven't seen a -negative reaction yet. He is put on everyone's playlist rotb! Turns haters into lover's. The jazz mixed in with his vocal runs are ridiculous & flat out genius!! A legend in the making!!!
@@Moyboy1319 I love watching the guys on Lost in Vegas do Chris's songs!
My goodness what a beautiful, soulful song… I can’t stop playing it
Ear Worm
One of the top voices of this age. Amazing talent.
One of the best voices I've ever heard.
He makes it seem so natural. Awesome guy!
Cannot express how much I love this song / performance.
