His genre maybe country but he is the most soulful singer today.
Completely Agree!!
Rare talent
And this is how he sings live. He's great. I had the opportunity to see him in Atlanta GA this year.
Last year . 😁😁
Girl you are so right!
" Is Chris Stapleton country, blues, soul, or rock?"
*Yes.*
All of the above for sure
i think he IS Music
All
He is just too good I'm really happy I became his official fan. God bless him.
@@babycaykz he is the best, most definitely the best ever
2024 and still on repeat anybody else too?
Someone put me on to this song. I’m in love with it. I know my neighbors are tired of me😊
I'm here every day and right now
I'm late to the party. This is literally my first listen.
Alexanderxx2560: I am on repeat with you! All day, everyday, all year long!!! OOOMMMGGG! Chris Stapleton is SOOOO priceless!
Yes I listen to it every day
The whole song is genius from the lyrics to his voice to the instrumentation to the arrangement. Every aspect is perfect. Maybe the best song I’ve heard in my 75 years.
@GeorgeStrait-mt2eh❤
Everything you said and a shout-out to the person running the lights,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, perfect timing all around.
I have no words!❤
I agree completely!!! I will see him live one day!! ❤️❤️❤️
For real. Genuinely might be the best.
This guy sings like he's been heart broken by 1000 women. You can actually feel the pain in his voice. Amazing 👏
or the same woman 1000 times.
@@matmercer begging for her to stay when she has BEEN GONE.
This guy... My soul goes crazy when he plays.
Not begging her to stay . He's Asking her how and why she's so none appreciative of his obvious love for her. But / Why - She has not any for him !!?? Also - HOW / She Can She act so hard hearted to him a man. / Who's given his heart And everything he could. One to get nothing or love in return.🥀🥀 ❤️🩹💔🥀🥀😥...
The way he plays the guitar reminds me of Prince. Love forever.
His live performance is better than the studio recording. This man has more talent in his little finger than most entertainers have in their entire bodies.
His national anthem at the super bowl was amazing
@@michaelrenner509 best version I’ve ever heard. I don’t think it will ever be topped.

So sorry for your loss😢
Sorry for your loss of he liked Chris he must of been a great man wish you and your faimly peace and love

Really wow couldn't tell from this video wow
Chris Stapleton is the best Country artist on multiple levels.
@@TTV3500 Perfectly said✌️
You could remove country from that sentence and ut would be more accurate.
He's at the top of artist of most genres, because he can flat out sang...
@@joshperkins2255 EXCEPT YOU CAN'T REMOVE COUNTRY. CHRIS HAS WRITTEN COUNTRY SONGS THAT HAVE BEEN RECORDED BY MOST OF NASHVILLE'S COUNTRY STARS SINCE 2001 INCLUDING 6 #1'S ALONG WITH MULTIPLE TOP 10'S & MANY OTHER CHARTED COUNTRY SONGS AMONG THE CLOSE TO 200 SONGS THAT COUNTRY'S FINEST HAVE RECORDED IN THE LAST 20 YEARS (LONG BEFORE CHRIS HAS BECOME A SUPERSTAR RECORDING ARTIST IN HIS OWN GENRE KNOWN AS "CHRIS STAPLETON" LMAORHROF!).
He's an actual artist, period. Unlike MOST modern day "country" acts. Truly one of the best to have ever done it.
I just realize, NOT A SINGLE AUDIBLE BACKGROUND VOCAL. This is a MASTERPIECE. I'm addicted!
Yesssss his voice is amazing
And the strings…..OMG
Absolutely!
The strings are the background singers. Bad ass. Just bad ass
Outstanding 🎶🎶❤️❤️
Lord! I don't know who came up with this arrangement, but they're pure genius! Solid GOLD
God knew exactly what he was doing when he made this man!
He belongs to no genre. He is his everything. Soul, country, Gospel, Jazz, whatever. One of the best singers around today. Would love to see him in concert someday. ❤️
I invented a word for this kind of music: Fusion 😂
@@piesho lol that works...a fusion of soul, country and blues! I'm gonna so steal that...
Country music itself started is a fusion of bluegrass and blues and he's really good at both. Honestly if not for blues we wouldn't have country or rock.
I saw him last October & man he did not disappoint.
@@erickrodelius9009 really? I am so jealous!
And kids… this here is what we call TALENT. Nobody does it like Chris 🙌🏼
Exactly..thank you!
😮
Why kids..
For mature audiences only :-)
If country music were preschool, with its cheesy lines, formulaic childlike rhythms and commercialized fake bs, Chris Stapleton is university, smooth, polished, deep, authentic, and adult.
This man’s voice is like a knife just cutting me up. Bruh bringing up old pain. Helping me get through it. Sewing me back up. Then walking off the stage. If we ever meet, I owe him a hug. And a love offering.
I don't wanna imagine where country would have wound up over the last decade without Chris emerging and setting the standard. The dude is a legend in his prime. And seems like a genuinely good guy.
"he's a reality check for posers"
He is a remarkable singer and leading country music in the right direction. Many of the new country music singers sound like rubber stamped non
Nao
@Eddie Fleming.....he's the only *Country* singer I listen to besides Jason Aldean. @Chris Stapleton is a Country Boy from my neck of the woods, Eastern, KY, U.S.A (i.e. Paintsville, KY). I think he's awesome bc you cannot *lablel* him just Country....he's Soul & Blues, he's got some damn good Bluegrass in him and he can Rock out....so, he's just AWESOME!! #ChrIsStapletonMyKindaCountry 🇺🇸💯✅🎯
P.S. my husband doesn't like him, I told him he should keep that to himself before I have to file papers!! 😂 Kidding on the Divorce part, but my husband is a hard core Willie Nelson stan (Kris Kristofferson too. I love both, but then there's only a few great songs that I enjoy from them & Ken puts them on repeat sometimes. 🙄) and I think that he'd love his guitar picking, but Willie leaned less blues, more folk?! Anyhoo.... 😁😁😁
Who's watching this with me!?
Me about 10 times
Present, friend.
Me currently
Hes amazing in concert! I dont think anyone can top him. His voice, his energy, his guitar playing and the fact hes so humble. Doesnt matter who you are, what age you are, you know his music. Hes a legend. ❤

This song gives me hope that real music could be making a comeback. I've got chills.
"Real music" exists, but not promoted.
I kno P.Diddy just opened a new record company called love records , strictly old school love records . I hope this attempts put that feeling back . once the rappers started singing their own hooks and didnt need real vocalist assistance anymore . the women on the R&B side of things are holding the fort down on their side thou alot of great material being released by them .
It exists. Just gotta do some digging.
🙏🙏
Listen to his stuff when he was with The Steel Drivers
He did it again! This sounds like something Al Green would be popular for. I'm seeing a country artist but hearing the blues. Outstanding!!!
Bill Withers even
🔥
Definitely Al Green
I agree I definitely hear blues. He’s my favorite singer right now love it.😍
Are a young Bobby Blue Bland
Theres country music and then there is Chris Stapleton. Totally different category.
The way CS sings there's no way that him and the wife hasn't been to a few BARBECUES. This man singing deep deep down in his soul. Yes he's country. But DAMN he's soul too. Just like George Strait. It's what it is
This guy makes me feel emotions I didn’t know I had. Raw, unadulterated talent.
True
So true my soul feels
Hes speaking for me and thats why i feel this.
Yes to everything you said.
Same,same
I love some Chris Stapleton, that sultry, soulful rich sound is epic and can't be duplicated. He is an original, genuine legend!!!!
Hello Etta 👋
Stapleton is bad ass but whoever does the bass in his songs deserves recognition. The bass guitar sets a mood in this song.
No doubt
Agreed 💯
@@karlbush89 I noticed that too, he should be recognized by now, Chris is a humble guy I'm happy I met him last year
Man and woman, I'm telling you, we have all seen people come and go from on to off this stage called music. This man, Chris Stapleton, left him his mark for eternity with Elvis stamp of approval. Way up there on the list. Why, I heard BB King say, "who is this cat". Night folks
You just know that orchestra was having the time of their lives.
He is more than country. This man is phenomenal. Soul and blues like I have never heard
I'm confused about his style of music penny, is he a country musician or blues ?

I’d venture to add rock to that category. I’m sitting at a Waffle House (no joke) and this song came on.. I immediately came here to give it the “live” test..
Phenomenal song, Phenomenal performance! 🎤🎼🔥
A unicorn
Chris Stapleton is a gift that only comes along every decade or so.
I heard hisperformance on the recent CMA'S. THIS song right here. He ripped that song to shreds on his guitar. Just listening instrumentally rips your heart open and made you weep. All the rest of the performers needed to just put down the mic and go on home. It was that stinking good.
I cant wait until August, when I see him in concert. After over 5 years, i FINALLY get to see the greatest performer Ive ever heard in my life.
Hello Regina 👋 How are you? So sorry for the infringe on your
privacy. Beautiful song with good performance
The Grammy's got me here. Love this...Country, blues, and soul.
Me too
Sameeee lol
X 2
He did a song with HER, Hold On on CMA that was awesome. Nothing Else Matters, I was wrong, Fire Away, some of my favorites. He did several songs with Justin Timberlake Saying Something, Drink You Away. Tennesse Whiskey . Nobody to Blame more country and he did Purple Rain by Prince.
I just saw him perform this song at the Grammys and as an R&B fan, I love this guy. This song is straight blues and the man has soul. I think music has the ability erase all the lines we draw between each other. We sure do need more of it now.
💯
Amen! 💙
Amen
Amen
Preach bro
This guy is saving music in a time when its lacking so bad. We need artists like this
I’m just revisiting this performance with the orchestra at the Grammys. He left all the other performers in the dust. Saw him live in UBS arena 2023 NY. It was phenomenal.
Hands down best musician ever!!!! And I'm sorry to those who dont agree this man is not country he is pure Chris Stapleton the man is literally in a class of his own. July cant come fast enough
Outstanding The best 👌
When I say country I do not mean his singing, I mean he is country. He is from the hills, he is a country boy. He is ours, you can't have him. You can listen to him but he will forever be a country boy.
Just saw him in Houston, and was amazed at what kind of live performance this dude does. Flawless.
Meh
Maybe it's because I grew up in Memphis, but he is a blues guy first, then country.
When Country meets Motown. Absolute 🔥
No lies told!!
Right!!❤
Stapelton is excatly 50% blues 50% country he is THE man ✌️
I was thinking Blues the whole time….especially his soloing.
He can sing it all ...very good musical story teller❤
if you ever question whether not you should see him in concert, don't question just go. I got the very front row and it was worth every penny, regardless after I got my car towed lol. Which wasn't my fault
Hey. We didn’t need to know that car towing part.
Just saw him perform on the Grammys tonight...blew me away, I'm now a fan.
same same. i'll be honest i was very ignorant as to who this guy was and that anyone could mix country with other genres as if by accident. just simply brilliant wow

Who is here after the National Anthem?!? Dang, phenomenal singer! Now this is music! Chris got a new fan. ❤🙌
I was lucky enough to discover him in 2014 and I'm still going down the rabbit hole. lol He is amazing. Always listen to him live unless there is no live video. Also when you get to the songs with the woman singing alongside him, that is his wife. She also has an amazing voice. You Are My Sunshine to hear Morgane take the lead.
That’s me. Became a fan instantly upon hearing him sing the National anthem.
I had never heard of him before the National Anthem I’m hoping for a Christian Album
I was lucky enough to hear Chris sing "I'm Sorry" at our high school talent show back in the '90s. Yes, he has always been this good!
Been listening to him since his days in the steel drivers….. insane watching him quit singing and thinking those songs were the only things we’d ever have of his amazing voice, then his wife convinced him to do a remix of Tennessee whiskey and the rest has been history, every new song blows me away like it’s the first time I’ve ever heard him….. I’ll be telling my grandkids about his music….. such a generational talent unlike anything or anyone else today
Im hearing influences of bob seger, pink floyd, bb king, muddy waters, and clapton. Hes an incredibly talented musician.
Don’t matter what genre he is. If music touches your soul, that’s all that matters. I love all kinds of music.. music touches me like no one has ever..
The only person left in country music that Johnny Cash would probably listen to. He transcends genres, writes, sings and plays guitar straight from the depth of his soul.
No background singers just pure talent and a exceptional voice.
Yeah how good is he?
Usually his wife Morgan sings with him as a backup singer. The only one I know of.
Had my heart broken and this song is how i feel. Thank you Chris for sharing your emotions with us through your music❤
So Soulful. Damn Pimp
So in love with his vocal and this song is so good. 18mil views do not really justify how amazing this vocal performance is.
Country, Rock. Rhythm & Blues. All rolled into 1.
Chris Stapleton. God Bless!
Hey...

This just feels like blues isnt it?
Hell yeah!!!
Right on!
The audience being quiet just listening tells you how great his voice is

He may be listed as country, this country singer is singing with soul I love it. Never thought I would love country but I am here now. Love his soulful voice. Glad to hear him sing Monday night song " in the air" voice of Phil Collins ❤
I'm both a viola player and a guitarist. As someone who is deeply engrained with a love of strings this hits every box on the list. The fact that it's Stapleton makes it 100x better
Such an extremely sexy song, i could listen to it forever!😛❤💋

In a world of modern day cesspool of "country music" Stapelton is a lighthouse of light and hope.
Sends shivers down your spine, absolutely amazing performance...
This ain't Country, it's Americana/Roots/Blues. He is his own genre. Love that voice. He's Townes/Clark and more for this generation.
Oh baby this is not country. It’s pure blues! Great stuff
Find an artist as unique, powerful and emotional as Chris Stapleton, not easy.
Any man that’s had a broken heart can relate to this song!
My wife and I have always loved his music. When we watched this performance I told my wife “no way that is a live performance, he is lip singing” boyyyyy was I wrong. This dude is by far the greatest natural talent in the music industry across all genres. This performance made me pay $1500 for 2 tickets for upcoming concert in San Bernardino 6 months from now. He made all of my favorite all time artists look silly when it comes to live performances. Only musician I know that sounds better live compared to studio recordings. GOAT
1500? wow...I am seeing him at Comerica for 90 bucks each
Just watched him live at a concert in Kentucky, you will not regret it. He is incredible.
As a musician I'll would like to comment 2 things. First, this kind of artist and artistry definitely deserves paying $1500 for a good spot to get the most of this kind of music performance. As a second thought, if you have this kind of understanding music and art sir, you definitely deserve investing that much in your self. You are the kind of person that true musicians dream performing to. God bless you and your wife sir!
No need for jumping around or dancing. He summons you to feel hear and see every part of a song. Really doesn’t need the background stuff. Just his singing is powerful. It fills the room.
EXACTLY 🙂
Going to see him in June. He has so much soul in his music. Love his voice.

I don't consider myself a country fan, but I watched the CMA show the other night anyway. Lots of good music. But when Chris Stapleton came on you could tell from the first few notes something really good was about to happen. He's a no nonsense "get right down to business" kind of singer. He gave me goose bumps from the moment he opened his mouth. I just found this video of that performance and couldn't keep from crying while it played. Wow! A rare talent, for sure.

Every time Chris Stapleton takes the stage you can always count on an unforgettable performance. Every song has a feel to it and suddenly your mixed in your own feelings it is magical.
I totally agree
There are great musicians that have come in my lifetime of many years but, Chris Stapleton is just a cut above from all the rest with his Unique Style and sound that just penetrates your soul. Like the great Willie Nelsen he can make his guitar sing and dance with the unique way he plays. His voice gives you part County, Rock, and Blues and adds wonderment of who this man really is and, where he came from. The first time I seen him on video I saw this long haired guy with a cowboy hat and I immediately thought Country then he played and sang and he just floored me. I just watched him on U tube with John Meyer this morning and John was saying that he ask Chris what he wanted to sing with him and he said well we could sing one of yours or, one of mine or, we could just write one and, they did in one day Its called "JUST REMEMBERED THAT I Didn't CARE"and man was that beautiful check it out! He's so multi-talented he can sing with anyone and it will be a hit.You have your County Western, Country Rock, Rock and Roll, Heavy Metal, POP And, the Blues and along came Chris Stapleton the man that will be known for creating "Country Blues".It is my last wish to be able to see this man perform in person I truley believe he is the greatest thing that came along in a very long time we needed something fresh and totally new. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Everything from Opera, Gregorian Chant, Gospel, Heavy Metal, R&B, Rap, Contemporary, Conjunto, Rock, Mariachi, Classical, Big Band even Jingles, if there is a genre of music, I most likely have a form of it on a playlist.
