    Nice fix, with what you’ve got. I’m thankful that we don’t have such severe rust problems here.👍

    Southeastern salvage yards have plenty of rust-free pr very low corrosion. complete and partial frames cheep if you find you can't patch what ya got. It's worth studying how the big rig frame repair guys work because their repair skills are top tier. There are a fair number of videos and for precise info on weld filler etc welding forums like Weldingweb are a good resource.

    Some additional things to consider replacing while the bed is off, are the fuel pump and the two cab pressure vents.

    Im going to be doing this to my truck. But I dont have the rear end in at the moment. Im assuming i would need to put it back in to make sure the shock mount lines up?

    Hi Fast Dad Garage.I'm curious as to why you chose not to do the mentioned 3rd repair nearest the rear of the frame.I have an 02 Avalanche 2500 on which as far as I can tell, the last few inches of both frame sides have broken off, along with the hitch.There is a kit available for the repair, but oddly, it only seems to be for the 1500 Avalanche.So I may be attempting this repair from scratch. Looking for any advice you may have.

      @@imatellya2609 it was not great and I only patched it up. If you do anything buy a nice new hitch first and install it. It will help keep everything square.

    Any clue on whether the tank member would work for a 01 suburban? I can't find anything, but my crossmember rotted like the silverados do and looks the same, however cant find suburban fitment anywhere.

    • @fastdadgarage-northsouthch4418
      @fastdadgarage-northsouthch4418  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question, it would depend on a few things. Condition of your frame, if you did any of the prep or bed removal and competence of the shop.

      @fastdadgarage-northsouthch4418 thanks for the quick response! I planned on taking the bed off myself but unfortunately the condition of the frame is pretty bad. The frame support actually rusted out and fell off entirely
