So much of it has changed in 50 years but if you get the chance, in SW Pennsylvania, visit the Frank Loyd Wright house Falling Waters and then in the same trip visit Ohio Pyle and Cucumber Falls a set of white water rapids and a waterfall you can walk behind. The ride in the Appalachian Mountains is gorgeous as are so many others across the states.

Thanks Mr and Mrs Flyer for the vicarious trip in my back yard. Currently locked down in the Vale of Glamorgan with a shiny new bike and limited places to go. So your vlog is a joy to watch. Ref the Portmeirion and GPS thing. Portmeirion isnt really a proper village as such its classed as a hotel. So most GPSs (and software such as Basecamp) dont find it with out its proper address. Weird I know.
Amazing to think that Honda designed their Evo 6 concept bike almost 13 years ago, and it still looks sexier than today's Triumph Rocket in my opinion. I'm hoping they'll resurrect it because the goldwing engine is awesome. I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
Loved it again! I don’t want this series to end. I think bikers in general have a huge appreciation for the countryside and the views (and smells) it offers. Well done, another great watch. 👍🏍🎥

Another fantastic video to watch with stunning scenery and commentary. Thank you so much! I can see the attraction with the Goldwing - difficult to imagine a more relaxed or luxurious way to tour, with that flat 6 purring away whilst the DCT effortlessly swaps cogs as needed. I was thinking of you the other day when I read up on the just released 2021 BMW RT - I think they must have been stalking your channel, as they appear to have pretty much fixed a number of issues you highlighted in your excellent review of it. Looking forwards to the next instalment on this fantastic trip.. :-)
I don't think BMW listen to me!! But great news if the RT is now improved, looking forward to having a go on the new model, it is a great bike (just not as good as the GW!)....mind you it's a lot cheaper too....

You realize the gold wing gl 1800 to the present ones are built on a sport bike frame, one of the fastest times on the Tail of the Dragon, was done on a gold wing.

Blimey, some of the sharp angled turns/ bends must’ve been an interesting experience for FLTMF. Looked amazing footage throughout the vlog - Wales is a beautiful beautiful part of the country and very friendly too.
For two up touring the wing is the ideal tool, new one is smaller than the gl1800 of old, and I bet handles even better. Lovely sounding when opening up too😬 great tour tmf.

i live and work around those areas. When you're going up the 20% hill near Dinas Mawddwy, over to Cross Foxes and Dolgellau, that's on the route of the Mach Loop. The other day I was there and thought my van had something wrong with it as there was this awful clattering sound. I turned the radio off quickly to try to figure out where it was coming from, and in the corner of my eye I saw a whopping great chinook fly past! Wonderful things. Ha a Prisoner mention! Don’t know why my parents let me watch that as a kid, couldn’t follow the plot, but that white balloon that swallowed up people scared the crap out of me.
Prisoner fan here. (I bought the DVD set as soon as it was available.) The balloon was called "Rover". As soon as he mentioned Portmeirion, I had visions of TMF with it pressed up against his face. LOL!
At the point where you did the overtakes in the 40's is a place called Dynas Mawdwy... If you had turned right there it takes you over the top of the ridge between Bala and Vernwy... Stunning views and fighter jets regularly.... FYI.
Between you, your mates on the Big Little Adventure and Itchy Boots (not to mention the landscape photographers I follow like Thomas Heaton) I'd love to spend about a year hobnobbing around the UK and Scandinavia. Simply stunning.
Excellent trip Andy and Mrs Flyer. The A470 (transWales Highway) must be one of the best biking roads in Europe. Next time you're looking for a coffee stop heading to Llandovery, the West End cafe is the famous biker place right in town. Also, to become a legend among Englishmen, it's easy to pronounce ll as in Dolgellau - just make a th sound, which has the tongue on the tip of the upper incisors, then move it back just onto the gum instead. Please also make a clip of you mastering that 😉😆👍🏻
Van van van van, traffic traffic traffic traffic! What are you like? My wife and I love your tour videos. So nice to see your Mrs! Keep up the good work! Traffic video! Sorry I ment terrific! 😄
Another great tour vid, I think the commentary makes all the difference. I think a Goldwing would be the bike to convince the missus to pillion again as long as there was room for shopping🤣🤣🤣
As usual another top video TMF. Know the roads well around there. As you know I’ve recently had a brand new BMW XR and was thinking about swapping to the GS but this beast looks different class. Having said that myself and my good lady went for a bimble/blast out and about around Church Stretton and Craven Arms yesterday and the XR is staying put. If only my garage and bank balance was big enough. Looks like we’ll be doing the ‘stress buster’ Spain trip with Toro Adventure too after watching those videos. 👍🏻 Cheers Again, Woody
Really enjoying this tour series. I was in Wales last month and rode some of the same roads as you. My first tour and I can’t wait to go back. I thought the bike looked a bit of a handful in Episode 1 (I think there were 2 corners where you really had to haul it back into line) but you seemed to be taming it better in Episode 2. I have to admit it looks too big for my liking, I prefer a more nimble bike, but that engine sounds lovely 👍
Yes horses for courses and all that - the Goldwing defo isn't an everyday all rounder sort of bike, but for comfy 2 up touring it's unbeatable in my view....
I revisited this mini series since your big reveal. I think now you have such a great touring bike ( and you have the GS as well) you need to be looking at doing a series on route planning on Basecamp ? I have just paused at the point where you are stopping at each place then putting in the next destination - to get the best route. of course basecamp or others can do this pre planning. It would be interesting to see how the GW imports such routes - the same maybe of the new TFT on the RT and GS. Enjoy the bike !
Cheers Nev - you import .gpx routes via a USB socket in the "boot" - personally I don't as I seldom plan routes in advance to that level of detail as you saw...I like to keep flexible...
Nice video, beautiful area, and great weather. I just wish you had thought about cleaning the bugs off the windshield during your regular stops since we have, like you, to look through the screen. I personally keep a wet chammy to clean both my helmet screen and the bike's in a ziploc bag in my top case.
I have a 2020 GSA but your love for the GW is a bit infectious, thought I had the only bike I needed but now I think I need two ! Actually, make that three, one needs a good scooter or the like !!! 😂😂😂
@@TheMissendenFlyer oh no, what am I doing !? . . . dare accepted, now to find a dealer that has one in stock and will let you ride it. They’re a bit weird here in Australia and the GW is so pricey here but I’ll see what I can do.
Another great one Andy, to answer your pronunciation question for Caersws it's pronounced Kyre like tyre and soos as in loose but both said as one word.
Great ride, especially as you caught some good weather. The riders eye view of the instruments and controls on the Goldwing is so classy and uncluttered unlike the BMW GS’s! And the sound of the 6 cylinder motor is beautifully smooth and again classy. Also the overall design is great as everything seems to be ‘designed in’…..unlike the BM’s boxy ‘add ons’! Sorry all you BMW owners but in my view the Goldwing is simply beautiful in every respect and from what I hear is far more reliable……
Beautiful vistas, winding roads, and funny town names. Doesn’t get any better than that 😃🏍👍. But how you have survived without the Mrs. putting knots on your head is beyond me 😆, some of those comments would have earned me a early grave 🤪.
Just watched these tour videos again as we are off to Wales on our GW soon, but I was astonished to hear the range that you quoted on film. 277 miles range on a tank full. The most my GW has ever shown me on a really full tank is 192 miles. I'd be interested to know if the model you have has a bigger capacity tank than the 2021 model we have. I also wonder if it is possible that my bike is giving me a false reading?
@@TheMissendenFlyer Yes, I could tell from the video. 😉 The Goldwing appeals on so many levels but the size and weight is a big put off for me. Its one of the things I am fighting with the Softail Deluxe, not so much riding it but moving it about the garage and car parks etc. Really enjoying your trip in Wales. 👍
Great episode. The Prisoner Patrick McGoohan took some understanding. Think he drove a Lotus 7 in the opening credits. Most famous quote from series, "I am a name not a number!"
Enjoyed that one Andy. What a great place Wales is. Used to be over there on the Z1R in the early 80’s when speed limits were for villages only and radar guns didn’t exist! The Honda is eating up the miles eh? Bit like you and that breakfast.....I take it the diet is finished? 😂😂👍

Between you, your mates on the Big Little Adventure and Itchy Boots (not to mention the landscape photographers I follow like Thomas Heaton) I'd love to spend about a year hobnobbing around the UK and Scandinavia. Simply stunning.
Do it!
You don’t get Itchy Boots on ‘A’ roads though......she’s a real adventure biker/tourer!
Please also make a clip of you mastering that 😉😆👍🏻
I thought I had got that one right!
TheMissendenFlyer A valiant effort 👍🏻
Van van van van, traffic traffic traffic traffic! What are you like? My wife and I love your tour videos. So nice to see your Mrs! Keep up the good work! Traffic video! Sorry I ment terrific! 😄
Episode 2 - a success! Loved it! Thanks for sharing you adventure.
Glad you enjoyed it Cliff!
Another great tour vid, I think the commentary makes all the difference.
I think a Goldwing would be the bike to convince the missus to pillion again as long as there was room for shopping🤣🤣🤣
Totally agree!
I have wonderful mammarys of Brest, bought some lovely jugs there once.
Very good Matt, very good.....
I've heard it gets very nippy in winter
@@nigelcb1300 yes, and hot enough in summer to grow big melons

As usual another top video TMF. Know the roads well around there. As you know I’ve recently had a brand new BMW XR and was thinking about swapping to the GS but this beast looks different class. Having said that myself and my good lady went for a bimble/blast out and about around Church Stretton and Craven Arms yesterday and the XR is staying put. If only my garage and bank balance was big enough. Looks like we’ll be doing the ‘stress buster’ Spain trip with Toro Adventure too after watching those videos. 👍🏻
Cheers Again, Woody
Cheers Woody - you and the Mrs will love Toro Adventure - don't forget to tell them you saw it here!!
@@TheMissendenFlyer already have. Sal replied they can’t keep you away 👍😃
Some gorgeous roads there, For a big old bike it looks a comfortable ride. Have fun and ride safe both of you
Thanks, you too!
Once again Mr and Mrs Flyer another great video, Thanks and well done
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice video, beautiful area, and great weather. I just wish you had thought about cleaning the bugs off the windshield during your regular stops since we have, like you, to look through the screen. I personally keep a wet chammy to clean both my helmet screen and the bike's in a ziploc bag in my top case.
Good call!
I have a 2020 GSA but your love for the GW is a bit infectious, thought I had the only bike I needed but now I think I need two ! Actually, make that three, one needs a good scooter or the like !!! 😂😂😂
I dare you to try the new Goldwing!
Got it Huw thank you!
I’m with you Neil - and I’m a GS fanboy apparently!
Beautiful vistas, winding roads, and funny town names. Doesn’t get any better than that 😃🏍👍. But how you have survived without the Mrs. putting knots on your head is beyond me 😆, some of those comments would have earned me a early grave 🤪.
You gotta pick the right one ;0)
Hello from Canada! I'm sitting here watching your video and just happen to have on my favourite hoodie............. a black TMF hoodie with red trim.
You have impeccable taste!
Excellent. Looking forward to Part three. Thank You.
Coming on Thursday!
My tank is certainly no bigger - no idea what’s going on there!
Aah Wales...been there ones in -19. Must visit again.
Yes well worth a revisit...though a bit tricky at the moment!
@@TheMissendenFlyer True, look forward to a normal World!😁
I see what you mean about the Goldwing being the Starship Enterprise of bikes. That is a very good analogy 👍
...it certainly feels like it has a warp drive Graham!
Now you,re on my favorite biking roads around Bella 👍
As always great content Mr Flyer. looks and sounds like the Goldwing goes and handles really well for a big bike, makes me want one 😂
Great episode. The Prisoner Patrick McGoohan took some understanding. Think he drove a Lotus 7 in the opening credits. Most famous quote from series, "I am a name not a number!"
That's the one!
Too gs or not to gs,is the Goldwing your new favorite ?.Great to have Mrs flyers input.B and B award of the year I reckon."Roll on" episode 3.
Coming on Thursday - stay tuned!
Nah, I've not been on a diet, just changed my lifestyle to a more healthy one, I have exceptions at weekends though - you gotta live haven't you!!
@@TheMissendenFlyer indeed you do! 😂
Nice to see you up here TMF. My motorcycle stomping ground all around Bala, Dollgellau and the coast roads. You should move up here - The Bala flyer !
Ps - We all know Brest is best 😂
Believe me John me and Mrs Flyer have given that some serious thought!
Andy great timing you should publish these vids as I'm about to move back to Wales (after a 30yr spell in England). I cant wait to explore with my trusty Yamaha Tracer. Thanks Mr & Mrs Flyer 😁
Good move!
Hope you both bean enjoying the Welsh roads here, these some lovely views and roads around as well, some nice road around barla to, mostly on the weekend the police are out about on the roads to,
Im only just over 1/2 ride from brecon around there most weekends ad hours Wales
OH, this is a loaner! I need to catch up with all of your Goldwing videos.
It was a loaner that I ended up buying!
