    47 hoodies, 1 pair of socks... you are a brave man. Socks are a thing that don't get stressed enough when people come up here, they get wet, they get compacted, and the wrong ones can cause blisters at the seams side hilling, after a couple days they just feel gross. Keeping feet clean, dry, and happy will make having a PMA much easier and a garbage weather day a whole lot more bearable IMO. Protect your feet people, they are what carry you into and out of the mountains to saftey!

      In part one of the film Brady makes fun of Brian for how many sox he had and how often he changed them out. And I think this list needs updating since Brady realized he probably should have brought more gear, two pair of boots, glassing chair, etc.

    Where did you call to reserve your isobutane

      Brady just called around where he was landing in a small town to pick it up. Find out where you're last commercial flight is landing, and then you should be able to call or search the internet for some sort of hardware store as most carry isobutane. Hope that helps!

    • @brady_j_miller
      @brady_j_miller ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Happy to help. I flew the rack back on air cargo and boxed up a bunch of meat and flew it as extra bags. I was able to get a fish cooler box that had styrofoam insulation and I got my meat frozen before I flew home. It’s a very easy process.

    What type of locks did you use on your gun case? Were they TSA approved locks and did you let your handgun lying loose in the case or have it in locked in another small case? I'm flying on a hunt in January and have been trying to find the best way to fly with my handgun in a lockable bow case, but the TSA website is less than helpful and no luck trying to reach a live person when I call. Thanks for any help you can provide.

      TSA guy told me to not use TSA locks. They’ve had tampering issues…

    • @thomashashoutdooradventure6970
      @thomashashoutdooradventure6970 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Use regular master locks. Be sure you have keys,two sets. Follow the rules posted on TSA. Ammo in factory box,not loose or in magazine. Be sure to hang close to check in counter until you know that your firearms pass TSA inspection before going through security. TSA rules are clearly defined, follow those to the letter and you will be fine.

    • @brady_j_miller
      @brady_j_miller ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When I fly with a firearm, I will take both TSA and non-TSA locks. I've had TSA agents tell me I can't fly unless I have TSA locks, and I've had TSA agents suggest that I replace my TSA locks with other locks. So... because of all the confusion, I carry both locks on flights just to make things smoother. I left my handgun lying loose in the case, but put it in a zippered pouch. So not a hard case for my sidearm by any means. Just having it in the main firearm hard case is enough. Think of it just the same as a second rifle in a double rifle case... you don't need to double-case a firearm when flying. I've had lots of friends fly with a bow and a sidearm and you can put that sidearm in the case with the bow when flying.

    There is no reason to only bring 1 pair of socks and that small amount of toilet paper (dude wipes are the ticket) on a DIY moose hunt where you can bring so much more gear then a backcountry deer or elk hunt. When I go to Alaska I bring a pair of socks for every other day and 1 pair that never leaves my sleeping bag so I can slip into dry socks every night. Other than that, great gear list and congrats on the bomber bull!

    One pair of underwear and socks!!? For the weight and size of 2 extra pair of each I see no reason to risk foot blisters or butt rash with one pair for 2 weeks. 😉

    • @brady_j_miller
      @brady_j_miller ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I totally get that. But I’ve still never needed extra socks or underwear. I have a stove and can dry out socks. I know it’s probably not normal by any means haha

    • @hootiesfilms6446

      Even if you can dry out socks they're still crusty and stinky, super uncomfortable. I've never gone moose hunting but back home deer and duck hunting I'm changing socks every day for sure. If I was backpacking I would definitely bring a couple extra pairs of socks. Underwear maybe slightly less important but gotta have 1 extra pair damn lol

    You had better take that ammo out of that case... Ammo cannot ho in same container as wespon... I have traveled from Germany to USA COLORADO AND IDAHO.... BOTH GERMAN AND AMERICSN CUSTOMS SAYS THIS... SO YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK ON THIS....

    • @ryanmenard2774
      @ryanmenard2774 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s not correct. I’ve done it twice now, TSA checked it both times with me standing right there.

    • @brady_j_miller
      @brady_j_miller ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As Ryan said, the information you gave is not totally correct. Your ammo can be in the same case as your firearm when flying in the United States. Like you, I've traveled all across the US and, most recently, Alaska with a firearm on an airplane. With my rifle ammo, I typically place it in a separate checked bag just because that is easier to deal with. But ammo is 100% okay to keep in the same case as your firearm. I've even had a TSA agent tell me that my ammo from my other checked back must be in with the rifle on a different flight, and that is when I nicely pull out the TSA printed regulations I keep with me for these cases and explain to her that my ammo can actually be in either case. I've also traveled internationally, and that is an entirely different beast and one that I suggest looking up the regulations of every flight you go on. When I went to Turkey and Tajikistan in 2022 for a hunt, I flew with my ammo in a separate checked bag. But here in the United States, you can have ammo in either a checked bag or, in the same case as the firearm. See the TSA regulations here: www.tsa.gov/travel/transporting-firearms-and-ammunition

      Like I said, you never know what shot will be presented to you…. make the most of an opportunity. If that means your odds go up a little if you can shoot past 400 then so be it. Please don’t put spare batteries in any checked luggage, especially the charging bricks. It’s a big safety hazard and as a side benefit they are heavy so put them in your carry on luggage where there isn’t a weight limit.
