Why did yr son run to drugs? I think that is the real issue, placing blame on other people is not taking responsibility for you actions which is too common now

    • @Knate1104
      @Knate1104 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@alliberges Taking responsibility is defintiely something people don't like to do in our society these days. But, in this case, let me pose a hypothetical to you:
Say you're in a bar having a good time with your friends. You order a Jack and Coke. While he's mixing your drink, the bartender mixes in some Cyanide. You have no idea because you weren't watching him make it. He hands you the drink, you start sipping on it, and then you suddenly go into cardiac arrest and you die.
Who is responsible for your death in this case? You or the bartender?
Or is the real question "why did you run to alcohol allibergés?"
My son didnt know he was taking fentanyl. Which is the case with most fentanyl deaths.
My son also didnt run to drugs. He went to parties and played sports. He had a lot of friends that were good kids with good families. But Roxy and alcohol showed up at these parties, and peer pressure or desire to fit in, whatever it was, started it all. Should he have done that? No. Obviously not. And if he were here, he WOULD take responsibility for his actions because that's the kind of kid he was. But he cant do that because he's dead. He paid the price. And we, as his family, continue to pay that price every single day of our lives.

God, I am so sorry. So sorry. I was on Demerol after surgery, and that was all it took for me to understand completely, why a person would become addicted to this stuff. This is why I never touched it afterward. I also know that one dose of these street drugs, is enough to kill a child, a young man, or young woman, and it is absolutely appalling what our government is allowing to happen to our kids. I am a former fine arts professor, who taught at GWU in DC, until I quit in disgust, when GWU openly chose a side in the presidential election of 2016. That is not the job of any institution of higher education, as a matter of fact, it is a massive violation of the mission of higher education, which is to cultivate critical thought. I have a podcast called “Girlfriend Translator” offering advice, and encouragement to guys, in dealing with relationships, to help them spot the difference between a manipulator, and a gem. To empower these young men, to walk away from bad relationships, to stand up for themselves, to know the difference. I also write a weekly essay on substack under the name “StandAlone”. To encourage people of all political persuasions, to stand up to this tyranny, like I did, no matter what you think have to lose. This is about your son, for me. I don’t receive a penny for any of this, I pay for advertising, with the little I have left. But, I will fight, everywhere, for these kids, and these are just two ways, as a citizen, with little “power” in the world, to take my power back, push myself, every day, to get our country back. It will never get your baby back to you, but maybe If we all do something, like I am, quitting that job I worked like hell to get, having no certainty about my financial future, but using a thing called “ingenuity”, initiative and creativity, and hope to fight for something bigger, more important than my personal “comfort”, to get the soul of our country back. I lived in Medellin for nearly a year, and saw firsthand what Escobar and drugs did to that country, so many adults left as child orphans, human trafficking, so much open, shocking drug use, and yet, such a beautiful city, with such fascinating, deep people. The kids suffer the most. They always suffer the most. There are so many of us out here fighting on behalf of the sons and daughters struggling, and their beloved parents. My heart is with you, every day. We need you.

It was definitely really really cool to hear them talk about the local colleges around me in the movie and that my friends actually attend when it came to them selling the California weed. As much as marijuana is recreational now in the state of Massachusetts in 2022. even tho I’m only 24 I still started smoking it in 2013 when I was 13-14 before it was legalized and I can tell you that the stoner scene was still ripe and thriving thanks to our buddy George! Hi Mike nice video again you're doing phenomenal for 71 years old. Amazing!
You're inspiring many lives and mine for sure. Back in 2020, i was watching a video of you reviewing Mafia 2 the video game if i remember correctly that's the first time i saw you and i thought you were very charismatic and calm.
Then there were this video of you in front of many students giving your testimony about your mob life, family and everything. I remember you saying at one point: "Change is temporary, transformation is permanent." I felt that very deep.
You were recalling your time in jail when a guard brought you a bible and you felt hopelessness.
I could somehow relate but didn't understand fully because at that time i was seeking help and i had many problems but also life in general i didn't know who i was, what is wrong what is right. I asked God for help and i was searching Jesus because i thought may be he could help me. And a few weeks later i stumbled onto a baptist church where i heard the Word of God for the first time being preach. I was stunned at how the Truth resound in my soul. I prayed that he save my life that day and he did amen.
Then i sat with the pastor like 3 weeks later and he gave me this reading in Ephesian (ch. 4-5) about the transformation of the new men in Christ. That's when your quote popped back in my head and i said: "Ok, truly change is temporary because the only real transformation is through Christ and for eternity. Everything else is vanity"
So i would like to thank you for opening that door at first just by sharing your testimony publicly. You helped a young men in Quebec City to find Salvation. God bless you and your family. Keep doing your good work soon i'll be ordering that book or may be try that wine of yours :)

Thanks for talking about the opioid epidemic Michael. Sadly I’m a part of this opioid problem we have in America. I’m 30 years old. Got hooked on OxyContin at age 16, got hooked on heroin at age 17, & did heroin until 2 years ago at age 28 when I got hooked on fentanyl. I overdosed 4 days after I started using it, & am still currently addicted to the drug… I’ve been to inpatient treatment 3 times in the past 2 years, & detox 5 times. Been to 6 inpatient treatment centers in my lifetime, & about 9 detoxes. Not to mention 3 sober houses, & I just can’t seem to get this problem I have under control & overcome it… & It sucks cuz I want nothing more in the world than to be sober & live a peaceful, happy, & comfortable life. But I just can’t beat this demon that I’m facing… & I hate it… I HATE it SO MUCH!
But I’m so glad, & also even jealous that you were scared to get hooked on drugs & that’s why you never did them. I wish I had that same fear. But there was something about me that just didn’t care if I got hooked, cuz I expected to die before I was 21 & I was okay with that. But instead I’m still alive, & I’ve lived a LONG, PAINFUL, & MISERABLE LIFE because of the choices I’ve made… 🥺😢
Anyway thank you for your videos, & for sharing your opinions with us Michael! I know that I at least REALLY enjoy listening, & REALLY respect you!

Michael, this movie actually ties into what you have talked about - the destruction of the family. I actually just watched this the other day and had a conversation about someone who thought the Father should have done more, which I disagreed a bit with. Here's my two cents on it:
If you want to point the finger, it should be at the mother who left him time and time again, leaving him without the emotional support of a mother which his father then had to give the best he could. She would just waltz back and expect him to love her solely because she is his mother. At least from the film, it's been his father who solely had to bring him up, yet she felt she had the right to disown him, and let's not forget rat him out. This came when he actually needed and wanted his mother attention and love, yet got none. His father, however, was there. It's also a bit showing how he more or less ended up marrying his mother in the case of the unstable Mirtha who George's mother without a doubt is jealous of, and she only wishes she had what she had. The same scene more or less plays out where the mother/Mirtha cries out they don't want to be poor, they want more, and the father/George tries to protect their respective kids. And just like his mother, Mirtha also rats him out to the cops. Talk about social inheritance.
