I respect Charlie and Zakk as much as the next guy, but this is NOT Pantera. ZW is nowhere near the Dimebag that was Dimebag. And Charlie's drums lack that Vinnie power and kick click. A nice tribute. I'll give it that.
Agree 100% It's completely different with Zakk and Charlie as I saw real thing several times. But like "Foreigner" with almost no original members, I appreciate it for what it is, and for not letting the music simply die.
The audio quality of these Pantera bootlegs are horrific. Don't know if it's the mic on the cameras, or poor acoustics at these venues. ... or that sh-t stage setup in the middle of the venues causing out of phase signals muddling the sound. Everything sounds like crap. From Phils voice, to substandard guitar sound that's hard to hear. I really don't think it's the band members ... but whoever is running the soundboard and whoever came up what that stupid stage setup is to blame. Just saying, IMO the reason you think the drummer is weak is because of the horrible out of phase and muddle sounding drums ... muddle sounding everything. Perhaps they're getting F-ed on their sound on purpose. James is not a fan of Pantera ... that's putting it politely
I was skeptical myself, until I heard the sound check in houston. the drums sound as close to vinnie as possible especially the bass drums. the stadium shows look boring af. their headline tour is where it's at.
