I increased the restrictor plate transfer port hole to 4.3mm using a drill press and the 18.13 pellet chronograph results increased from just over 715 FPS to 800. I will lighten the poppet spring and see if I get further benefits. Inexpensive mod if you have access to a drill press.
Just as a slight update. After drilling mine out to .156 which is about 4mm, using 14.3gr domed crosman pellets my velocity went from about 780 with the hammer spring screw turned all the way in to about 800 with the screw turned all the way out and my shot count remained roughly the same before pressure drops off the reg. With the screw turned all the way in I believe my peak velocity with the same 14.3gr pellets was about 830 fps so that's roughly 50 fps gain peak velocity. With the screw turned all the way in however I got about 2 full mags so 14 rounds before velocity dropped off the reg so that's a significant difference but the option is there now for more power and has made the adjustment screw actually useful now. I did also notice after removing my barrel that the o rings on the outside diameter of the barrel were slightly chewed up so I could be losing a couple fps there.
@@skimplyblimpz i just only half turn ( counter clockwise ) on regulator thats inside the airtube and hammer all the way in and im getting 841fps average with 14.3 grain thats all i did
I have drilled mine out to 4mm plus and have a c-88 machining plenum and drop block bottle adapter and went from 790's to 850 FPS. I also have an adjustable regulator set at about 2400.
My suggestion is if you want that much power you should buy another gun like an Avenger honestly. To each their own but this gun takes crows at 60 yards with crosman 14.3 grain pellets doing 745 FPS stock...straight down. Its fits a niche for guys that need something in the 18-20 FPE range. The more pressure you put on the valve the sooner it will wear out. Like I said...to each their own. This gun is perfect the way it came from the Snow peak factory. I have other guns for more power like the Avenger , LCS SK-19 .25 cal @ 70 FPE, FX Crown .22 @ 30 FPE, a Nova Vista Liberty .22 @ 44 FPE. All I'm saying is once you modify it the warranty is gone and so "MAY BE" the reliability, shot count, and possibly the accuracy. You do you. Stay blessed and safe y'all.
You hit the nail right on the head, this is more of a backpacking short rifle/pest control gun although if you adjust the hammer spring alone you can definitely take out a raccoon without an issue. It's just not made for heavy hunting and trying to modify it past what it's designed for is kinda pointless in my opinion but yes, to each their own. Modding things is always fun and not just about performance/efficiency.
I actually own very similar pcp's *SK -19 but in .30 cal (w/dual tank conversion)making 120+FPE, a .357 bulldog (Pitbull power tune) making over 300+FPE etc.. those are my big boy hunting toys... Modding a cheap gun like this with investing minimal $ makes it a perfect backpack PCP that can even outperform the FX fanboys, as well as the Raw micro Hunter. I mean who wants to pay $1,500 +when you can spend a fraction of the cost just by doing some simple mods? I mean who doesn't want more power? I have an 03 1200 Sportster stage 3 screamin Eagle package yet I still want more power! That's what modding is all about. Nothing is overkill until you kill it, lol no pun intended.
Drilled it to 4 mm. Rather simple. I will edit in results once aired up and tested. Edit: hahahaha boom 800 fps after turning up the HS 3/4. First shot as is was 780. Gained exactly 50 fps

Hi 🤠 Can you still sell the "Diana Chaser Safepac"? I have a Artemis/Snowpeak CP2 which is the same build and I realty like the light weight and accuracy. I have been looking to turn it into a PCP. I don't think I need as much as 3000 PSI but just more than what the CO2 delivers would be sweet. Any hep will be much appreciated. 👍
@@airgunningyup I will do that for sure. I bought the extra NOTOS and chopped it into a pistol. I still need to chronograph the pistol after I pick up a 9 volt battery today.
