That's a good trap, I will make it for my young apple trees. The problem is there may not be any codling moths where I am and making the trap will actually attract them to come instead.
How early could I hang this mixture on my dwarf Fuji apple tree which had a terrible infestation of coddling moths last year? Could I hang before tree has produced leaves and fruit in middle of March? Do you save the excess mixture in refrigerator and add to bottle throughout the growing season? Thank you. I used it on 2 dwarf honey crisp apple trees, and not one apple had a worm in it. the bottle was full of moths, lol, thanks for the tip

Will beneficial insects be attracted too? Just worried about bees being trapped?
Drill holes a quarter inch diameter instead. the Coddling moths are small so they can get in and other larger insects cannot.
