That screaming noise is the oil pressure low alarm. That alarm went off during the whole trip from Vancouver Port. The Naked lost power twice when on the highway. It was like the engine died and then sprung back to life. I will get the mechanic to fix it. Hopefully it is OK. My brother is a mechanic so he kind of has an idea about what is wrong. Once it is fixed and the Canadian road inspection is done, then road trips here we come!
Update on Oliver: I have been busy working out of town so I only just got the low pressure alarm looked at this week (April 12th, 2018). I think I was driving Oliver too fast from the port that is why his little engine couldn't handle the lead foot of mine. I also hadn't driven a standard in 15 years so that could have been a contributing factor. The mechanic did an oil pressure test and Oliver's oil levels are fine. He says the aftermarket oil pressure gauge needs to be readjusted so it doesn't have the alarm going off every time the car is in idle. He said that once I get everything I need to get Oliver insured in Canada - third brake light, neutral safety switch, and daytime running lights - that I am going to love driving him around. I think so too. I am so glad that Oliver is fine mechanically and that soon, hopefully this summer, he will be on the road for road trips. I have driven Oliver from Vancouver port once, to the next town twice for inspection and mechanic, and to downtown in my town three times for mechanic work and it is only showing a half tank of gas used! Very good on gas is Oliver. Thank you Andrew and Derek for my new car. We are loving him. :D
I think those holes are meant to mount a pole in the car. How else would you be able to have a pole dance performance in your naked? "It's not that far stretch to touch your own thing" - not sure that was an intended joke, but I lost it when you said that, Derek! :D

I guess you could make a joke about driving "stick". it's an interesting car. One thing is it has a turbocharged engine and even then if you include the engine and turbo and intercooler the engine bay still looks empty... It's a small engine.
i'm usually not a big fan of these kind of cars........... BUT- the name is to genius to pass. with that alone i can have a ton of fun. and i kinda like it's unusual looks.
Don't forget about the Mazda LaPuta or Nissan Mocho, or Toyota Hustler. :D I hope Japanese people don't call their kids bastard in the distant future, just because it sounds cool. :D

I am paying a broker to process the paperwork because it is cheaper that way. His fee is $250.00. So, total from auction to import is $6,470.00. Pretty cheap if you ask me. I wasn't planning on spending so much on this vehicle but it was so nice, and in such good shape that I bid higher than what I was going to. I am glad I did because luckily I got it. I am so excited. I can't wait to get it home. Personally I would do it again this way. I like that Derek opens the auction to us so we can pick the exact car we want. I know some people that would rather buy a Japanese kei vehicle from a dealer in Canada but after doing it this way (self service buying from auction), and knowing I could get a cheaper price if I did it this way, I wouldn't pay a dealer to buy a vehicle that he/she chose for the price they want. Maybe that is just me, but I like to cut out the middleman wherever possible. Pacific Coast Auto really has a great export service for people looking for their dream Japanese vehicle. :D
