I love the mk3 roccos. Its too bad the us never got them. You are correct derek, its a MQB chassis. All of those cars use the same platform. And they only have electrical problems if previous owners mess with stuff they shouldnt. Source: ive owned vws for 25 years and never had any electrical problems.
So nice to see a spots cars with a well appointed interior that is somehow both spartan and beautiful. Also, REAL gauges are best, leave those display screens for video games
@@sv_cheats1970 - The 2.0 TDI sold more than the 2.0 TSI in most countries, so it's probably harder to find a more recent one. I did a quick search and most used TSIs I found were pre-2010.
@@module79l28 the most common engine choice was the 1.4 TSI which I recommend you don't even touch with a stick. Heck don't even look at it wrong. The TDI would be the best option. Didn't know they came with the 1.9, weren't they 2.0 TDI only?
Your surprise makes me think that you're not from Europe, South America or Asia because if you were you'd know about it. This 3rd gen Scirocco was launched in 2008 and was manufactured here in Portugal until 2017, when VW discontinued the model.
Finally you are back!
We missed you guys
Fun car, Derek! Thank you for sharing.

Canada got the Scirocco between from 1982-1989! My neighbour has 3 lol
This generation
I wanna know more about that red Civic in the background
Wish this was available in the US!
I will be honest Derek, I couldn’t keep my eyes of that EK Civic, I hope there’s a review coming up soon, take care.
A shame no manual! but like most cars in Japan, big delay on ships eh? she'll be here deep in the winter!
If you want the manual version you'll have to look to Europe. And wait another 9 years if you're in the US.
@@module79l28might have to wait even more if they'd perfer the last of the run 16'-17' models 😅
Plenty for sale here in the UK

I am confused, is it only in certain provinces that the car needs to be 25 year old for it to be plated???
25 years in the us, 15 years in canada. People in the usa have mercadies bens and Harley Davidson to thank for the 25 year rule.
25 years for RHD in Quebec and PEI. Not sure about the latter, but in Quebec the 15 year rule still applies to LHD cars.
@@trmd ok yes that is what i heard... 25 years in QC for rhd but no lhd imports
@@lemayg1337specifically, Canada has an import restriction of 15 years on all cars. Quebec & PEI have a 25 year ban on the registration of just RHD.
Plenty of these for sale here in the UK most are diesels but a good choice at low prices..
I didn't even know they brought that nameplate back.

Those DSG boxes can be troublesome. Wouldn't touch a VW product personally. Poor reputation for reliability.
if a “I’ve read it on forums” was a person 😂
