😀 Thanks for doing this video. I've just replaced the lower grill on my Passat following an incident with a Pheasant that walked out in front of my car!! It looks as if there are lots of variants of Passat's, but your video was the closest to what I was looking at and made the job possible. Knowing where to look for all the screws was a big help and where to pull and push to get the job done.
I always like it when someone knows what they're doing, but maybe hasn't done that particular car before and they're not afraid for that to be known. Helps us learn together. My lower grill got broken the other day when I hit a kangaroo, but the bumper is fine (top grille smashed too) But instead of replace the lower grille Im going to cut the hole bigger and put my light bar in there... Hoping I might be able to pull that lower grille out without removing the bumper, now that I know where the clips will be... Thanks
Thank you so much and that setup would look super cool. Yeah as much as we work on car we can’t possible know how to do all of them. Knowledge is power thank you
We do show how to remove and install the grille too through the video. If you start at 4:15 that's when we first remove it, then at 5:22 we start going through removing and replacing all of the other parts and accessories from the old bumper to the new one
Hello and yes, they snap into the bumper. Don't pull the bumper off forcibly. The sensors are situated pretty well on the bumper. You have to either unplug the sensor or 90% of the time, just twist the sensor out of the bracket. They're super easy to remove. Thanks for watching!
Hi, I rear-ended someone and my bumper slightly hangs now, would there likely be a way to reattach it? it looks like something in the middle got pushed out of place as its attached at both wheel wells.
Hello and sorry to hear that and we're glad you're okay. If the bumper is out, that means it most like broke the bumper tabs that snap onto the brackets. The brackets are under the headlight and on the sides of the fender. Remove the 1 bolt on the ends and try pushing the bumper back into place. Sometimes is just need to snap in and secure it with the screw. Check to see if the bumper is broken on inside where it snaps into the brackets. Send a us a photo at sales@revemoto and we can help you out too. Thanks for watching!
Hello and thank you for the timestamp. That is normally referred to as the "front bumper retainer/bracket." They are pretty inexpensive from the dealership. They are normally held on by a screw or two. Good luck!
@@ReveMoto are new brackets required when putting a new bumper on ? Recently had a body shop put a bumper on but my right side under the headlight seems to have a bigger gap then left side so I’m assuming it’s the bracket you mentioned above ?
@@Shake-n-Bake222 There is also a bracket underneath the headlight that serves the same purpose. Sometimes the bracket is separate from the light, or it comes attached to the light. It's probably not installed correctly or that headlight bracket is broken.
Hello, and the short answer is, more or less. The bumpers are different but the screw/clips will be found in the same areas. Bottom bumper, wheel well, top bumper etc. The bolts/screws may differ slightly in size. Most bumpers are engineered the same way, so it's a good guide video. Thanks for watching!
Sorry no tutorial but it’s pretty simple. Screws on the sides, under the bumper and lift the truck lid. There maybe screws in each side or sometimes no screws just pull bumper off. If you need the bumper go to www.ReveMoto.com
I have a 2013 Passat with a broken lower grille - can you tell me is that one also connected with just clips? So in theory, could I push out the old grille and replace it, without taking out the bumper?
Passat grills are with clips, but removing the front bumper is easier. Reason is the clips are pretty secured a lot of force or flat head is needed to wedge in there to remove grill. Then you will have to put the new one and snapping that is hard without the bumper off. So, in short I recommend remove the bumper. Let me know if you have any other questions.
