One of the many reasons I continue to work at my company is because of my coworkers; they are my best friends. As an introvert, I may not easily initiate communication, but I make an effort to be friendly and find at least one close friend. Having such friendships helps prevent feelings of loneliness.

My co workers always complain I’m quiet that gets annoying after awhile

The good news is you don't have to change. People called me quiet for 30 years so I started talking a lot more. No difference, everyone still calls me quiet. A leopard can change it spots, but no one will notice when it does.

Excellent! These apply not only to co-workers but generally every group of people. So I have made a note of the 3 ideas:
    1. Trust comes after we have been vulnerable to people who have responded empathetically.
    2. Have weak links (aquaintances in different fields)
    3. Make people feel they belong to.

This resonates with the research we have done at Dewdropz as well. Helping to facilitate a sense of belonging and enabling opportunities for weak ties to form in the workplace. The trust aspect is something that has to come from the participants themselves through interaction. Regardless of who is helping you or what tool you use at your organisation, as long as something is being done to help people from getting burned out and feeling isolated. I hope employers are watching these videos too.

    interresting :
if you take into consideration that every employer pits employee against employee every chance they get, mainly during evaluations , all your tips fall out the window real fast.
    thank you for trying.

Yes wearing matching T-shirts allows better connections with others but that has already been done in schools and yet children who study in these schools feel depresssed. If you want productivity and good social connections then give people the freedom to do the things they want to do the way they want to do it not wear matching shirts

This T-shirt experiment is so so true and realistic. I'll share my experience. I am a PhD student in a part of Russia where there are few blacks. So, whenever I come to an open place or an event in the university, once I find a black person anywhere, I walk straight up to meet him or her. And they're always happy to meet and tag along for even the whole runtime of the event. In this case, our skin colour is like a colored T-shirt that makes us easily spot each other😅

Actually being friends with your co workers is probably a bad idea. But on the other hand discussing salaries with co workers can help all of you.
I need a video explaining how to convince co workers to discuss salaries

One of my friends started as a colleague and is now one of my best friends... and that job itself wasn't fun, but working with him made it easily my favorite place to work for years!

Yep. They’d all screw you over without a 2nd thought if it benefitted themselves. Making them friends just brings drama to the workplace.
Also the video was naively adorable. This would be a cute video to POC college students about to be hired at google or Facebook. Not relevant almost anywhere else.

I agree. Some workplaces are highly toxic with people who bully or who gossip. I don't trust anybody at my workplace. I work my hardest , I stay focused and go home.

One goo tip: get to know you coworkers in peson. With the pandemic we got used to work remote, but it is nothing compared with work together, drink a coffee or just do smalltalk. this builds trust and make you realize that your coworkers are real people not just a talking image in teams.

Naah. How about you go to work, do what you are being paid to do and then go home with the money you need to live. If everyone did this everything will be awesome. I don't need other b/s. The only group we need to belong to is the group that does what they are paid to do.

Shame on the owner of tedtalk

I don’t want to connect with my co-workers. I have nothing in common with them. He should take my job for a week, I’d be fascinated to find out what he had to say about the place.
