    Making a great first impression in a new job is essential. Be on time, be prepared, and be positive. Be yourself and let your enthusiasm shine through.

    "You can only do well if you want to do well." That's so true and very timely for someone like me who's confused about what career to pursue. Thank you for the tips! I love how clear and concise this was!

      I don't think this is true at all. I think the more accurate phrasing is "You can only do well if you're white".

    I see myself being able to get along with my coworkers. But the environment I feel I lack a bit in the skill to interact with the client and know what to do. Some task I felt I could do once seeing someone else does it but I need some guidance. I could also improve my social skills n listening skills to learn the problem of the client before finding a solution. I should be more patient I guess. Last few days I felt slightly unaware on what’s going on in the workshop. Could work on that. Think my first week was pretty poor first impression. With or without my back hurting. My companions r pretty cool people to be around tho. But I think it’s once I could handle my side of the job is where I could become closer to them as colleagues and friends.

    Male Coworker training me- "but i like u just fine"
    Me- "I have a girlfriend bro"
    Actual first conversation I had lol. I fit right in cuz I sensed the sarcastic humor the office had. Even in the interview my boss said ur gonna work with an idiot (was his younger brother he was talking about)

    Sorry but no. Not asking question when you should is the worst way to demonstrate competency. Instead of saying, “I’ll do my best”, it says, “I don’t care what y’all do, I’ll do it my own way and make it up as I go.”

    • @madster01
      @madster01 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      I think what he meant is try to come up with solutions first, and if it won’t work, ask right away.
      You know how some tasks are logically easy to accomplish if you put a thought into it?
      Though, I agree - first week you “should” ask more and be “annoying”. This is much better than doing everything on your own and staying silent

    This is just all good advice for white people who can LITERALLY just go to a job and wait for promotions to just happen out of thin air. Can you do a series of this for REAL advice, for like minorities that have to deal with things like representing their entire race, or maybe minorities who have many years of experience and still dont get hired at a new job unless they get hired at entry level positions?
    Maybe you can do one about how companies use hard working and insightful minorities employees to parade off their diversity and inclusion mumbo jumbo and then never promote that employee whatsoever in favor of inexperienced white people. Or you can do one about how any given organization chart in America looks like a glass of soda that has been left out in the sun all day and melts- meaning all the dark stuff goes to the bottom and the top is so clear that its see through.
