Thanks mate, this helps seeing how others keep there gear alive for longer.... I like the extending rod holder idea .. it always pains me to see my Talica getting soaked when trolling a live bait around. I might have to try to number 8 wire something together to solve this problem.
My reels have usually been short lived, now getting serious and with better reels i hope to have them for a long time. I really enjoy cleaning them after a day out, but i also take the handles off and add a few oil drops in the crank bearings. Great vid 👌
Two years ago I purchased the cheapest sb combo on the with the goal of catching a 20pdr on it, the real lasted 3 trips 😂 Cheap generally means cheaper components. I’m a huge fan of Daiwa mag sealed reels, you don’t have to worry about the internal gearing 👍
@yakfishfun8441 Ha yeah the cheap ones can last a while if they don't get drenched. Forgot to mention I also grease under the drag knob too. I've got half decent reels so better safe than sorry until I get top range 👍
Hi , can i please ask about your paddle as its something most people don’t talk about yours looks carbon , im worried of spending the money on carbon , the shaft being put in & out of paddle clips repetitively … making a weak point & snapping can they handle the abuse of fishing situations , paddle clips etc , or ive noticed you leave yours in your lap often , is that too avoid paddle clips with it ? & is it worth spending extra for carbon ? thank you
Carbon fibre is the 💣 When I changed my distance covered increased 50%. The leaving on my lap is possibly a bad habit but also how I fish, I’m more into hunting fish in close than doing long drifts
Thanks so much, just got out of the Kaimanawas and saw the vid pop up. Hopefully I see you out on the water sometime🤘🤘
Good video. Thank you.👍👍👍
Great video, Laurie! Much appreciated.
