I haven't done much fishing this year due to some inconvenient weather. However, I was able to catch a nice crappie on a wacky rig, so that's probably my current highlight.
Nice couple of catches. Bet you are glad you restrung that rod. Keep the videos coming. Watching your videos makes me wanna switch to circle hooks and try a popping cork
Great vid FirstState! I can’t wait for fishing season to come to Maryland so I can cast a line out. You have been making me want to fish all winter. Stay strong, man.
Love kayak videos. One thing we liked to do while moving along is troll a mirror lure off the back to cover some water. It has been successful from time to time. Looking ward to you running into a 30 inch Snook with that outfit. You will be taken for a reel ride.
I'll go with drift fishing myself let the wind do all😊 work it's a good eating size to what's the sound that you make it's got a lot to do with fish biting use everything to your advantage
I would be terrified that a Gator or something else would take a chomp at me in a kayak!! Thanks for allowing us that have fears get this type of experience with you!!
Hi everything thing fishing just found your channel in the coments I hope this sub helps your channel out love to you and yours frome a fellow youtuber paul in p.a
Hey man I hope you read this but I live up here in Jacksonville fl and I kayak fish religiously if u need some tips or ever wanna get on some big fish!!
my boyfriend said The best time of day to catch redfish in shallow water bays is early morning when the water is cooler and midday is best for redfish in deeper water like bridges, jetties, and wrecks to escape the hotter water inshore. The tide plays a huge factor as high tide will push redfish into the shallows to feed in the rich flooded bays and into channels as tide is receding to feed before the water dries up forcing redfish into deeper water.
Thanks for the response. I enjoy watching your videos. I will be starting my own channel soon. As of now, I only have one video up from New Years. The weather here and current state of the river has been very challenging. Anyway, thanks again for the reply. 🤠👍🇨🇱
The Florida coasts are always windy. If you’re 5 miles inland your weather will be different than the coast. Always check the wind at the coast, not inland.
i fish that creek that ur in often and they are very finicky so if you throw artificial shrimp in the middle and work it slow you will get many more bites
Not a criticism, just curious, but why do so many anglers seem to never let a cast finish out with spinning gear? I feel like they always flip the bale at the end and stop short of where they could be casting. Habit from throwing baitcasters, or just a learned action/twitch thing?
I think I usually do that to try to get to the spot I’m trying to cast to and not over-shoot it and get caught up in the reeds/trees/etc idk it might just be habit too
What's your favorite fish you've caught so far this year?? 🤔🎣Had so much fun making this video!!
Channel cats 😂
It's been a while since Ive caught one of those! @@Jai.money.
Big snooks so far

Awesome video bro you should do more fishing from the kayak
Definitely!!
💪👍, nice job brother that was some beautiful fish.

As soon as that video started I knew it was redfish heaven..
Try a vudu shrimp jig under the popping cork.
Same price
That’d be interesting to compare to the live shrimp
Those were some nice reds!
Nice catching bro keep up the great vids💯
Appreciate it!!
GREAT yak video....nice fish!
Ayy thanks!
good to see you back in the yak
I like your fishing videos very much.👍
Ay thanks!!
Hey man i love your channel and the saltwater vids! maybe using your drone to scout for reds would work? Awesome fish!
I’ve always wanted to try that! Just scared I’m gonna slice myself trying to land it in the yak lol
@@FirstStateFishing fair😂
Nice job 👍
Dude! I thought I was the only one 🤣 every time I take the kayak out it gets windy or it rains or the tide becomes super strong! 😅
Very cool
ive been getting into fishing lately and tommorow im getting my permit! :D
Nice!!

Haven’t seen one since I’ve been out! I’ve seen em in these creeks when I’ve been on shore though 😂 I always got my paddle ready to bonk something
Keep the good vids comin
Thanks for watching!!!
How does he turn with the pedals? Or does he need the paddle for that
I have a dial on the left side of the kayak that controls which way the rudder faces and I can turn it to turn the yak
Keep it up brotha
I love your videos man! Keep it up please😂
Also I’m trying to start up my own channel and would take any advice you have to give.
Thanks! I'd say to make vids that you yourself would wanna watch!

Awesome video bro. Should have kept that first one tho
I’ll be back out to catch and keep some for sure
Yooo love the vids bro

Thanks!
I was blessed to catch some Black Sea bass
bet you're happy to be back in tha yak!
Oh yes! Haha
Are any of the reds the PB on the kayak?! Good catch man!!
I’ll have to go back and look! They could be ! Thanks!
Alright, we need a collaboration with someone. I wanna see you get a good decent sized catch and cook again!
Who should I fish w/ ?
Nice man. You have any lure suggestions for snook and redfish I’ve always used live bait and frozen bait to.
I’d try a soft plastic paddle tail, gulp shrimp or vudu shrimp
@@FirstStateFishing thanks!
Nice Bull Red
Shrimp dont move much but the fish love the smell

whatever the weather people say the wind speed is going to be, add 5-10 mph when on the water.
Where was this at? im in central FL
Glad you are catching bigger fish. Does your wife not like fish? I would have kept at least one of those reds. Great to see you in the yak. 🤠👍🇨🇱
Yeah a lot of times she eats some off camera after she gets back from work if I do a catch n cook , wasn’t planning on keeping any this day

i think ur a cool kayak guy
2/0 kahle hooks under the cork. Setting the hook on a cork improves your hook up rate a lot move than a circle hook imo
🔥🔥

Definitely soon!
Red fishing is addicting but honestly nothing is better than a top water bite. Try using a spook
You think they’d eat one? I’ve never tried it for reds
i think u need some smartwatch to make sure go pro always recording
Why do you not give the float more time? It seems like all you give is a few seconds then off - genuinely curious.
What rod and reel is that?
the only think I enjoy living in Iowa, I dont have to worry about gators or sharks when I go fishing XD.
Can we get some Florida fresh water videos ???
What should I try targeting in fresh water?
