Yoccos with everything (mustard, onions, and chili sauce) and chocolate go together like a hand in a glove. It is the perfect taste combination.
I grew up 1/2 mile from this place. Love the dogs w/everything! Go there whenever I'm back in PA.

Yocco’s is great! Lee Iacoco who put together the Ford Mustang in the 60s and later ran Chrysler is part of the family that owns Yocco!!
Yacco's chilli and cheese for me. Love the Yacco (Vallos Bakery) roll. I also prefer the saltier Yacco's chili over Pott's which is a bit on the sweeter side. I use to get Pott's with bacon a cheese until I discovered Yacco's.

When I was younger, my grandfather, who died recently, used to take me to these places on a monthly. I’ve been going through a sad time and this video really helped me out. Thank you for Making this video. Also the chocolate milk makes the hot dogs. And next time at pots, get the perogies

Alright, now you're speaking to my heart. I grew up on Potts Hot Dogs, and yes, it must be with chocolate milk. I don't know why, but it's a Bethlehem thing.
Yocco's has been around in the Valley since 1922, Pott's since 1971. Lee Iacocca is the nephew of Theodore Iacocca, the original owner of Yocco's. Yocco's started in a smaller place than Pott's on Liberty St in Allentown, but they closed the original store in 2016. I've had both, but I prefer Yocco's. Their fries and pierogies are good too.
Edit to say: I think the chocolate milk with the doggies is a local thing. I'd rather have a Coke.

I used to get Yocco’s on Friday nights on Hamilton Blvd. after Allen High football games. Thanks for mentioning the history and Iacocca connection.
Originally from the Lehigh Valley and lived there 45+ years ... Moved to NC in 2018 ... We don’t miss the cold, snow and ridiculously high taxes, but we do miss Yocco’s hot dogs

Great to see the Valley on here. Both dogs are great but I grew up at the yocco's he visited here, so I'm yocco's forever.

Brings back memories…went to college in Bethlehem in the 70’s and always walked to Pott’s when we were out late and had a couple of bucks…in the 80’s I was married to someone from Allentown and went to Yocco’s (west) when we were back to visit her parents…went to the location you visited in 2016 the last time I was in town. Great stuff. Thanks!

I live in the Lehigh Valley… love them both! We call Pott’s, Pottsie’s. Yocco’s has such good, salty chili sauce. So so yummy! Now I want hot dogs. 💙 Thanks for visiting our neck of the woods!

I'm a chili dog with onions guy. When I get a regular dog. It's 2 lines of mustard on the side, ketchup in the middle, onions and kraut or relish. And I usually get beef hot links

I highly recommend going to Johnny's gyros on stefko blvd in bethlehem. The gyros are very fresh and delicious. They are closed sunday-monday but I always stop by when I can. Keep up the good work 💪🏽
I'm in agreement with 'kraut on hotdogs, it is one of my big favorites as far as condiments go, right alongside onions and banana peppers.

Potts looked more like my kinda place. I noticed that Potts appeared to have a really small amount of chilli/toppings compared to what I'm used to getting around my area.
I use to stop there when coming back from Jersey , on rt 100 south of rt 78. I would always get 3 chilli dogs and 3 deep fried perogies. And the dogs a squirt of mustard. Wash down with a cold soda. Love Yocco's😅

I grew up a block from the Original Yacco’s. Back in the day they were the best. When I visit family I stop by but they’re not the same.

Yocco's makes good hotdogs. You missed Jimmy's in Easton, Pa. They make great hot dogs too.

From PA myself and we always pronounced it "Potsees" lol Yoccos definitely #1 in my opinion. I moved to NJ about 17 years ago and I don't get out there near enough to enjoy my Yoccos.

Born and raised in LV brother 41years. Basically it boils down to where you're from. If you are from Bethlehem you are pots all the way if you are from Allentown its yoccos. If you are from Easton it's Jimmy's. It all depends on where you grew up. I definitely agree with you on the chocolate milk though. I never understood that. Thanks for visiting!
This remind me of a place that once was WELL KNOWN IN CHESTER,called John Doggies 👍🏼😋😋😋😋😋 I’m so glad that there’s a place in Delaware that still sells the “chili” .I now make my own grilled hotdogs and cheese burgers with finely chopped onions,mustard,ketchup if you prefer.It’s good even on your cheesesteak & hot sausages as well😋

Grew up in Bethlehem, so I was always a Pott's person until my wife and I bought our house in Allentown, now we love both! Little secret: if you want a classic chilli dog (mustard, onions, chilli), go to Yocco's, if you want a chilli cheese or kraut and mustard, it's Pott's all the way! :)
I'm from Bethlehem and worked at yoccos as a teen but Potts is my go to!

Love both, but the original Yocco's in center city Allentown (6th & Liberty region) was the best. Same grill from when they opened in 1922 until it closed in 2016.
You should check out Hotdog Johnny's in Belvidere, NJ. Just a short ride from the valley

My dad grew up in Allentown. Whenever I visit the area with him, Yocco’s is the first stop always!
Props to JL for always keeping it real. Some channels will just say the food is great just because they dont want to come off as mean. I get its still a matter of opinion & personal taste but its a good way to gauge some places.
Chili dog no cheese and a kraut dog is always my go to.
Wish there was a Hot Dog place here but I'm out of luck.

My favorite drink to have with a hot dog is Coca-Cola or lemonade. Here in Rhode Island we have hot weiners which usually come with fries and coffee milk or Coca-Cola as drink choices.

Ate at both places and liked both. When I was a kid in early 1950's my dad took me to Jimmy's on the Delaware and after the flood he moved up by the bridge. The last I heard they
closed and reopened at the 25th. st. shopping center in Easton Pa. For as long as I can remember all he sold was Hot Dogs, chips and soda or milk no chili but they were great.
The bread bun is delicious as well

Potts used to have a spot in this little lake town in north NJ, Sparta, and I ate Potts almost daily growing up. I had no idea they had a spot in Bethehem now I need to go! Thanks JL! Everything with cheese was my jam always.

If you really want a gem of the Lehigh Valley, and you're in the Bethlehem area, The Goosemen is where you wanna go. Great sandwiches, with a GOOD amount of deli meats in them. My personal favorites are the Hot Roast Beef with extra swiss cheese (which they actually soak the beef in au jus for a bit before putting it in the roll) and the Geuben (basically just a reuben sandwich). Their breakfast sandwiches are fantastic, too. If you go there on an empty stomach and want something amazing, The Kitty Whiskers. It's a club sandwich without the veggies, but with eggs, sausage, cheese, bacon, and deli meat, layered between 4 slices of rye bread. I usually turn it into another classic and get pastrami and swiss on it instead of the capicola and cheddar jack (also cause i'm not a huge spice fan), but it's freakin great! And the prices are just as nice.

Sauerkraut with spicy mustard and onions is my favorite. Chicago dog, or traditional loaded chili cheese dog with slaw onions ketchup mustard. If ever in west mifflin PA they have a good hot dog spot just can’t remember the name.

Congrats on the new baby, the few years I've been watching you don't think I ever left a comment, but I'm doing so today. I'm a Philly girl but my family resides in the Macungie area not far from Yocco's because we pass it all the time. I am team hamburger myself but my sister is team hot dog and she lives out that way so I will share your video. But the next time you are in the Lehigh Valley try this spot in Quakertown called, Soul D'Lysh. Saw a spot on FYI Phily last spring on them and because not so many Soul food spots are in that area my family tried it out and loved it. I had the cajun alfredo, my mom and sister had the fried fish platters, and my nephew and his Dad had wing platters. My only complaint is the times they are open because of personal circumstances with my mom and her health we realize its too late to make dinner and we want to go there but its either closed or about to close. Also a tip, order from off line then pick up your order because everything is made to order(so its slow). The next time I go there I want to try out there salmon cheese steak. You can google the information for address and website, Soul D'Lysh, Quakertown,Pa.
