I think if she were a man, she'd definitely be living the polygamy lifestyle because she's already got the bully type personality down and she has no loyalty, esp towards her mother & siblings!
Wow! people are so cruel. In NO WAY is Jenelle to blame. She's a kind and loving mother and woman.
I don't think people appreciate how much of a break from her faith it took to stand up for her sons when Kody insisted they should be kicked out during the " pandemic " restrictions.

I think a lot of ppl are upset about the probability of Janelle continuing w/ TLC. It's bewildering because that is the cause of so much damage to the kids. There ARE other jobs.

@vblackwell3347 It's important to remember that we do not know what Janelle was already signed up for before Garrison's passing. Many of these contracts are airtight - she might not have a choice, unless she wants to risk a legal battle with TLC/production and the extra stress (financial and emotional) that would place on her and her surviving children. As strange as it sounds, she may well be in Mama Bear Mode by seeing out her contract, as it may be the path of least resistance/stress for her family.
On top of that, we have to remember that Kody has withheld vast amounts of money from the OG3 to pay for Robyn's whims and shopping and jewellery and home, etc. They have gained very little from Sister Wives other than fame. I imagine that Janelle is looking at this situation, realising that Kody will not lift a finger to assist her, and wanting to find ways to support her children as much as she can - both in the aftermath of this tragedy and in the hope of stopping history repeating itself. Some, like Gabe, may need serious, decent (& expensive...) therapy and psychiatric support, especially after finding his brother like that. Social media and the show are probably the only realistic way she has of raising that kind of cash.
I think it's important to remember that Janelle is in an unwinnable position, here.

You are absolutely right. Everyone grieves in their own way and copes in their own way. I think it's also really easy to assume that, just because a family is relatively public, we know everything. We almost certainly do not. We have no idea what is going on behind closed doors, how Garrison's siblings are coping, and the pressures (emotional, physiological, financial, etc) that Janelle is facing right now - and we can't judge what we can't understand.
The ONLY acceptable approach for anyone to follow towards Janelle right now is one of compassion, empathy, and love. Anything else is just cruel.

I hear ya but she signed a contract that is binding with TLC, that would cost millions in breaking. She's probably still numb & in shock... and she's the only one who has no financial stability except for the show. She's kinda between a rock & a hard place. I was against her doing the show after Garrison's death but I'm trying not to judge because I am not in her shoes or had her background experiences... but I have vowed to not watch this show anymore, out of respect for Garrison! 💔 RIP!
I never got that impression from any of your videos! I watched a video earlier accusing you of this. I was so confused so I rewatched several of your videos but didn’t get that from your videos. It's because KJ said the cult has influenced Janelle's thinking (not getting psychological help, not calling police, etc.). While I disagreed with KJ about Janelle not going alone to a man's house because of their beliefs, I agreed 100% with everything else KJ said. The cult HAS influenced how they behave around mental health, that's just a fact. He also disagreed with KJ's characterization of the AUB as a "cult." I disagree with him, it's obviously a cult. I think he took a leap with the facts here. Just because KJ points out how the cult has influenced this family, and that played into their behavior around Garrison's death, that doesn't mean KJ was blaming Janelle or the family. In fact, KJ has said many times throughout many videos on this topic that "nobody is to blame." She has said that so many times, verbatim, that it then becomes unfair to say she's blaming them.
Agree totally. Never heard her say anything about Janelle being her fault. I made a comment on Amanda’s channel (formerly Backwoods Barbie) about the Browns being public and people commenting. It wasn’t anything disrespectful but she sent me a message on how dark I am. I think Amanda needs to get off TH-cam because becomes unhinged when you don’t completely agree with her. I never thought that of you on any of your videos and I just don't know where these other people getting this. My thoughts are they are jealous because of your following is more and you do the best at communicating. I have seen all your haters broadcast and don't follow anyone's, #1 because they are boring except realitea who doesn't drag people down that I have seen #2 I think they are taking what you have said already and several days later try to make it their own. I stopped watching this SW show but for a few times each season because of Kodys ways. Last couple of seasons it's like he has been on drugs or something the way he acts...keep up what you have been doing KJ you are handling this with grace

I will never blame janelle for what happened to Garrison, she was used by this religion and kody used her to.
Prior to ALL the wives who have since left Kody; were 100% devoted to Kody. They left Utah following Kody, they left and uprooted the kids and moved to Las Vegas, and then to Arizona. I’m so sorry for the loss of the family. But these wives were totally committed until they weren’t.
My heart breaks for Janelle, I pray she can find freedom from this cult. I can't imagine her heart ache.

did not want to follow Kody. Jenell son told her he didn’t want to live to Arizona. Jenell told him; you only have a few more years and you will graduate and move where you wanna live. Sorry for the lost, but those children haven’t been happy for years

Her kids loved their family and their Dad when they were little. Even though they were poor. Seems when Robin and money came along Kody showed a different side of himself. The oldest kids were able to see it for themselves

If my kids had expressed that they didn't want to move, plus it was clear the og3 didn't want to move.......I would have dug my heals in, sided with the kids and let kody et al go on their merry way without me and my kids. Sorry but I think the og3 were wrong in this case. They should have bid farewell to kody and robyn in Las Vegas.
Janelle is not the strong woman many believe her to be, imo. She has a serious weakness when it comes to kody. I would loved to have seen janelle become more defiant when it came to the kids. Her allegiance with the kids has always been expressed in soft, unconvincing tones. That's only my opinion.
I totally think the same way. Not accusing. We all make mistakes, but this was a fatal one. Children's safety & security (not wants) should always be 1st & foremost. The End.
But really look at that pic of Janelle. Her eyes are so swollen, presumably, from crying. You have to see the pain in her face. She's clearly just trying to move forward. As an unfortunate mom that’s experienced losing a child, I know how deep her pain goes, she’s forever changed from the very depths of her soul & can only send her prayers to that she’ll find her way to move forward in her life…the loss of a child you literally grew inside of you is a part of you that takes a piece of you when they’re gone, never being the same person 🥹

As a person who has lost someone at their own doing, I know there is no one to blame. The mental state of the person is the blame. There should never be a finger pointed anywhere. Sadly, there are many family members feeling guilt and blame themselves. It’s not their fault. Continued prayers for this family. 🙏

When you are desperately seeking approval and love from the person(father) who raised you, logical decisions are not being made. It's unfair to blame G. He had gotten to a really bad place, a supportive word from his father might have been all it took to encourage him to seek therapy. I've balanced at that dark place with my own brother, the issues he was dealing with I couldn't comprehend, it took our dad breaking down in tears(he is normally a very stoic person) to convince him to surrender his pew pews, and get therapy. Things still aren't fixed, but at least he's no longer teetering on the edge. This is why alot of us lay culpability at Kody's door.

Robyn lacks substance. Her loyalty doesn't run very deep. She's loyal only as long as it benefits her. Kody won't see it until she is done with him. Kody will then be left scratching his head wondering where it all went wrong.
Yes, Robyn is loyal to anyone who will benefit her in one way or another. She knows how to turn on the charm and make people believe she’s a genuine and caring woman who wants to help others. Unfortunately, she’s shown time and time again that she doesn’t care about anyone unless they are doing what she wants. That’s extremely selfish. I have extensive experience with someone like that and it’s taken me a long time to slowly realize that they have perfected the art of manipulating those that they want to get things from. I’m dealing with this person right now and I’m unsure how to handle them. If I’m honest with them, they become furious and attack me with their great knowledge of how to make others feel guilty and I feel like a terrible person. They have excellent communication skills that they have turned into a weapon. And I don’t have good communication skills at all, so I get attacked and I’m left silent and feeling like a horrible person. So I can’t get through to them to try to expose what they do so that they can change and get better. Kody and Robyn both feed off of each other and they know how to deflect blame and guilt to others. They both use each other. And that’s only going to last for a limited period of time. I have no doubt they will get divorced. And I hate to say this, but I look forward to seeing Robyn and Kody struggling to create an income. They spend money recklessly and they don’t have a nest egg, I’m sure. The children will suffer because of what they’ve done. But hopefully they’ll all be okay. That’s what I care about and will continue to hope that they’re all safe and well taken care of.
The OG3 wives were real when it came to loving Kody just fo who he was back than. Robyn was all fake and it was never about Kody, but all about the money she could get.

When you see that contacts who have given Katie info are still in contact with her then you must know that Katie is a safe person, an empathetic person, trustworthy. Former cult members are extremely hesitant to speak out or to trust anyone. A whistleblower like Katie gaining their trust is almost unheard of and these other content creators know that. And instead of them starting to follow how she does things…they want to destroy her. It’s horrible.

Suicide is too complicated to blame others for this act. Yes, Robert Garrison was hurting, but the thing with Suicide is that it takes one miniscule thing for the victim to take that leap. He knew his mother loved him and that his dad was angry at not being able to correct his adult children. God bless friends and family and believe God is giving all of them his grace.

I watched something where they talked about girls being taken from Canada,and brought to the US. They did go find a lot of those girls, and brought them back.
I also remember Kody and Robyn courting a woman from out of the country, but she ended up refusing to be with Kody.
So, Kody was playing that same game.
I don't blame Janelle, Christine or Meri for anything. My heart hurts knowing that Garrison passing away hurts Janelle, Christine and yes, Meri too. They all felt Garrison was a special young man.
IF they were going to want to still stay on tv, then a station needs to make a show featuring the three ex's and their families. A more happy show where we get to see them living their best lives.
As for Robyn, she purposely chose to want to be with Kody. Why? Because she had already heard the Browns were going to have a show on tv.
Do I more blame Robyn and Kody for Garrison's unhappiness? Yes, I do. They were the two people who always had something negative to say about the 13 children. Robyn does believe her children are "special". Kody does too. They have those children so indoctrinated into their way of life. It's sad actually. Those children believe the lies that are told to them by Robyn and Kody. Kody and Robyn should be very ashamed of themselves.

I don't blame Janelle either she loves Garrison and tried to help and save him. She fought so hard to defend him against his own father. Kody and Robyn are to blame because they punch Garrison out.
I wish people would stop being judgmental about how Janelle, and yes even Kody, are grieving. By doing things that you enjoy or even finding humor in something does not mean that you are or are not grieving. I was a young adult in a transition phase of my life (leaving college, moving to a new city, establishing a career) when my mother died. I can tell you that grief recovery is an arduous process. I can’t even imagine what this mother is going through, losing a child. Thank you Katie for pointing out where Janelle was coming from and some of the things she is dealing with.
When ever I see or hear Kody I want to vomit.
Janelle could get out of the contract by saying that she is emotionally destroyed and by threatening a counter lawsuit if they try and push it. The public would back her 100%.

On Janelle's IG on March 4th she posted "Today I had 2 pre-cancerous spots frozen and a tiny lump removed from my lip" with a photo. That may be why she tried to find someone else to check on Garrison.
Probably got cancer from all the herpes Robyn brought with her (allegedly)
I almost fell for this same thing as Janelle. I was in a very bad spot in my life and was groomed by my Mormon farrier (I had horses) I joined the church but realized they were just after my large disability cheque I had coming. They continue to phone me twice a year trying to get me back into that church that I have no respect for. They just won't listen. I should do something to get excommunicated haha.
BTW I live in Canada very close to that Mormon sect in Bountiful BC that sends the young girls down to Jeff's bunch in Utah. It is true what Katie says.

Look up how to do it legally (it’s out there) and then formally notify the bishop in charge of the missionaries, if ppl continue to call or visit, to remove you permanently from their list.
I had to get them to stop trying to contact me during the pandemic they were persistent. I felt sorry for them, only because they were very young and I could tell they weren’t happy trying to get conversions where I lived.
In fact I think they were questioning their own faith and church once they’d left home.

Janelle is the saving grace to her children!! She is the reason her children are doing so well. She also held the family together financially for a long time. I hate to say this, but Kody’s children are better off not being in relationship with such a toxic person. Kody and Robyn are so toxic they will never change.
And Garrison wouldn't have accepted help till he was ready. He had an alcohol problem. She couldnt fix that. She is a loving mother. Garrison loved his mother, and his family. All families have issues. God bless Janelle !

Please look into the FLDS group flourishing in North Dakota. They lived in Minot, ND but have moved to a compound they have built about 45 Minutes north of Minot. They have so many young girls. They come out into the community once or twice a month and keep to themselves. They have been turned in repeatedly but they make sure everything “looks good” when questioned by CPS and even the BCI. They’ve now moved the girls
to the compound and they are completely isolated. The only thing that will change anything is social pressure because they have the legalities sewn up. It’s sick and the locals don’t know what else to do to help these poor girls.

I can't imagine that anyone would try to blame Janelle for her sons death. It's cruel to add anything to her suffering when SHE was the parent who maintained contact with her boys.
I was born and raised in a cult here in Texas. They were "non-denominational", but had roots in pentecostal doctrine. Very misogynistic, very grooming, racist, nothing out of what they thought was acceptable. I got myself out in my mid-20's. You are very correct in that it takes years, maybe decades to reprogram your brain and pluck out the seeds of brainwashing. And yes, we were never encouraged to seek psychological help. That was discouraged and frowned upon. You should pray harder and "Where's your faith." Total victim-shaming. So, I left and never sought professional help. I reprogrammed myself, over many, many years. A professional could have helped so much! But absolutely, when you leave, you're smeared, everyone at the church has to shun you and can't communicate. I was also terrified God would strike me dead because I "turned my back on Him." Like people who have never experienced this don't fully comprehend. Logic does not, cannot exist in their cult world. Reason is a wrecking ball to their brainwashing. They shut it down every time.
This is the kind of cult I was raised in. I’ve been deconstructing for about 10 yrs. It’s quite the journey. Not easy by any means. But it’s worth the mental and emotional work. I’ve never know peace like I do now, but for a few yrs, so much confusion! It can be done ❤

He was an adult. His passing over was a complete tragedy for his family. Being with her other children and grandchildren is a good thing. And no one’s business. She was as good of a parent, if not better, than most, because she left her children with another mother who loved them as her own. She also conveyed making their own choices, to her children. Life is hard for most families. I lost my only child over 10 years ago and the pain never ends. She had a bad heart, never told me, she didn’t want to worry me. We talked about everything! She was so loved and cherished. Blaming Janelle, is wrong.
Katy, I truly appreciated your mild tone of voice in your response to these accusations. I was taken aback with how bombastic James was in his most recent video. That is not his usual nature. I hope he will openly apologize to you in a more appropriate tone.
I have unsubscribed from TH-camrs who are cannibalizing their fellow content creators. If that raises an evil, violent image to mind, it should. That's what impression they are giving. Like you said, Katy, there's room for everyone on this WORLD wide web! I'm waiting to see if apologies come your way. I hope they do, if not, I'll be unsubscribing from several content creators. I also unsubscribed a few content creators. I am a devoted Christian and not everything Katie says I agree with. This is her channel. She gets to post her own content. It is terrible to see so many content creators gang up on Katie just because she is a better TH-camr creator.

James is figuring out that if he appeases those who are bullies and satisfies them in going after the other content creators that they want him to then his channel will grow because hate gangs who find a soft place to fall as members of a channel that caters to them will attract others of that ilk will increase the subscribers of his channel. When James talked about a money grab it is he who is doing the money grab.

In July of 2020 I experienced the same trauma that Janelle did. Our stories could be the same. My 3 other sons will never be the same. Trust me when I say Janelle will always blame herself at some degree. For me it’s 100%. I pray it is different for Janelle and her family. SHE/THEY is/are NOT responsible for Garrison’s choice! She could have involved others in the lives of her children………long before any were an adult. Christine and Janelle were constantly putting out fires; they should have been saying, ‘Why are there so many fires’?? This has to end!!! We need to expect a little of that gumption from middle- class white women (I’m a middle-class white woman.) I stood up to my abusers, many times. It wasn’t easy and it wasn’t socially accepted! I am pretty sure she could have gotten them help when they were little and constantly living in this turmoil, which they admitted . They went to counseling but from the looks of the show they never never got the kids into counseling to deal with their turmoil . So not buying their culture doesn’t get help or counseling they sure did for themselves!

I feel even main stream LDS do the same "recruitment". In my 10+ years of living in Utah (1992-2002) I observed recruitment by the young men returning from their missions. I remember many young men pining for their loves left behind in many So American countries.

I hope Janelle takes Savannah and Gabriel and moves to NC. They will be much better off. Hunter is on the East coast, Logan is settled in LV, They need to be by Maddie and her family for comfort and support.
Nobody is to blame for the suicide. It was his choice. But I do believe Cody played a big part that led to his struggles. He was using alcohol to cope with the turmoil. Cody was nothing of the role a father should play in a sons life. I think TLC played a part in his struggles too. They steadily stirred the pot and gave money for ratings to exploit children. So many people played into the struggles but I'm sure couldn't have predicted a suicide in response. That was his desperate choice and I understand it so not trying to bring shame on Garrison. It's a horrible place when you can't get any other relief from your pain. I blame Cody, Robin and TLC for many of the struggles but not the death itself. I think Janell and her protective parenting were probably one of his only comforts.
I feel everything Janelle is feeling. I lost my son a year ago

I have had 2 family members do the S. I can tell you from experience it is very hard and sometimes impossible to stop this from happening. Even in loving, caring, close families if a person is going to do this you may stop them the 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc time but if they are determined to do this they will find a time and place to do it.
Mentally healthy and happy people can not truly understand the depth of despair , hopeless and pain that someone can get to that they think the only way out is to do this act. They can’t see that what they are feeling and experiencing is temporary or that it will get better. You can try to help this person see that there is hope and things will get better but if they can’t get to see it themselves it can turn tragic.
People can try to get the person help or they can make matters worse for them… Garrison had both of these in his life and unfortunately one created the perfect storm so that the worst happened.
It is truly sad and as a mom, my heart hurts for Jenelle
Garrison & Gab saw their Mom & Sister living in a small rented apt when their Dad lived in a $1m home with another woman. Blame Kody for the financial disparity btw the two. My 🙏🏻 go to Janell for her loss.

I didn't interpret your last video as blaming Janelle and was surprised by the reaction from that likeable TH-camr. The reason many don't feel as much sympathy for Kody is because Garrison's own father publicly insulted, shamed, humiliated, rejected, and abandoned his own son on national TV. Janelle did no such thing to any of the children. For some reason, there's a great deal of hostility toward you and your channel with many calls to silence you. I'm sick of these easily offended people who constantly try to limit the kind of content I can and cannot listen to.

I don't agree with a lot of things KJ states, but not once did any of the videos related to Garrison passing placed the blame on Janelle. Within the comment section, someone questioned what he was referring to and he quoted a KJ comment which resulted in him interpreting her as blaming Janelle. It was a huge stretch to come to that interpretation when in reality, the comment was placing all of the blame on the polygamy culture/cult...not Janelle. That is why I am so disappointed. If anything, I'm really tempted now to unsubscribing from his channel along with a few other creators that probably incited that video. As I said before, I don't agree with a lot of things KJ states or does, but then call her out on those things...not a bias interpretation of a comment she made.

@@vblackwell3347 Not quite sure why so many people have such a visceral dislike of KJ. In this case, although I like James, I don't think his motives were pure. For weeks, he said he didn't want to do commentary on SW for ethical reasons. I knew he was going to backtrack on that because there is not enough consistent interest in these other shows or topics he was commenting on. His channel was moving toward TH-cam oblivion before he went back to posting SW content. His KJ video had more comments than any of his other videos increasing his engagement and raising him up on the YT algorithm.

Narcissist, not even now. I’m so sorry for her loss. No woman should ever go through the loss of her child. As a mother she is devastated and blames herself for not being able to see and stop it. There is never enough words or time to explain sometimes there are things our children hide things from us. Kody can not accept the responsibility of the role he played in his son’s life. He played favoritism and our children are affected when they see or believe there is a favorite child or in his case - the other family

I understand why Jannell would want to continue working as she has been even after losing her son. She could be pouring herself into not just making money.but to keep her mind from driving her into crippling depression over the loss. Also she wants to contribute to the business Garrison started.

I don’t think Janelle is to blame for garrison…but (sure I’m gonna get hated for this) she kept putting her kids in the path for this. Even on TV Kody disregarded Savannah on her bday and Xmas. Janelle kept giving her money to Kody for Robyn while keeping her daughter in a tiny apartment (and trailer). She kept giving her money to them for Robyn’s kids to live in a mansion but Savannah had nothing. Even Robyn’s kids laughed at Savannah for the trailer
