This character actually isn’t as busted as I thought, if not at all. I thought he would be like Brigitte where he would be super op at launch, but he doesn’t play like he was ubernerfed or made to be absolutely broken.
A tip I would like to add is to use your nemesis form up or cancel it when your armor is used up then ult to get nemesis form again to get that armor back. If you ult while in nemesis form you dont get that extra armor unless you do it the way I said.
Honestly the preview made him seem super OP, and I know many were saying he's busted based on those. But seems pretty reasonably balanced, if not in need of a buff, based on your takes.
Well, with all the other previews, I could say they make them all seem OP
Play him in game...he's not even that good
I'd say he needs a buff, mainly for his Vortex pulling thing, it needs increased height so it actually pulls down flyers
@@happystalker. and block because the block was originally meant for closing distance or retreating and you cant rlly do that most of the time without a support always healing you
Give it time.people will piss and moan enough and he'll get nerfed . Like Soujorn. Even though Ramattra is nicely balanced . Has a high skill ceiling .
Honestly I feel like his biggest weakness is that he's ok at everything but doesn't specialise in anything. For example, if you're playing poke, why play him over Sigma or hog If you're playing rush why play him over rein or zarya

@@burcopresents But is still better than a master of one. Ball is a pure dive tank and is buns. Sure ram isn’t the best at anything but sometimes that’s better than the alternative.
you would play him over sigma in certain situations because he has a larger effective range and can hold his ground at close range better than sigma.
You would play him over rein because rein is garbage. and also loses to poke.
You would play him over zarya because zarya’s weaker to hitscan and has trouble dealing with winston bubble (ramattra can ignore that on a cooldown)
He will lose to hog, and will struggle initiating fights especially on offense and on push, but mark my words he will be very strong when paired with kiriko lucio and utilizing proper positioning. possibly even in OWL meta on certain maps.
lower down shield CD to 10 seconds so he has an exit solution. also if block made him move faster instead of slowing him down, he would be a strong tank
I’d say lower the CD to 13-12 seconds, so that there isn’t a 1000 hp shield right up your face every 6 seconds as the shield lasts 4

I think it would be better if he was faster but when shot at went to omni forms crouch speed
Or his shield shouldn't last 5 seconds
they should make the block ability make you faster as it absorbs damage
I'd like to see how this would work actually. Adding rage could be good on him and pretty fitting to his character
ramattra is really good at keeping enemies away, and getting your team close safely, but bad at getting away themselves

Canceling nemesis form instead of blocking is often MUCH more valuable I don’t see enough people using this it makes him much more viable and significantly increases his dps potential

He seems super fun and as a Winston player, a character with a relatively aggresive shield placement feels great. Sigma is a lot more shield and shoot but Ram looks like shield and literally gain space or you through
I think his block is really underrated, sure it makes him a sitting duck but when used correctly it is able to soak up high damage ults like dva and junkrat. Not to mention you can use it briefly and retreat to your team, or cycle it between hits to soak and deal damage at the same time.

PD: I want to get myself out of silver (I am silver 1, so close!) as support and now low-tier tanks are going to trolling hard playing Ramattra in every single map... pursuing stats and kills instead objectives and wins. Holy shit.
No, Ramattra wont be out in comp for several weeks so you have time. Besides, you can still play Kiriko and hard carry and get out of silver.

I watched all ramattra vids but this one gave me an idea. What about... Movement speed boost of block?

Why wouldn't ramattra charge movement speed
It would be like on gameplay trailer. He walks back blocking just to enter fight again with built up rage. This would make him even more of a tempo tank, would solve his movement issue, give a reason to block besides stalling payload. Imo easy fix.
Imagine it during fight.
Shield
Close distance
Nemesis form
Strike a lot
Get focused
Block and fall back a bit
Get healed by healers to full
Pop Annihilation
Stop blocking
Go back into fight with short speed boost (like Lucio's amped speed boost for like 2 seconds)

The amount of people that don't block when he transforms is astounding. He can block some serious damage. Also yes his kit is pretty weak but he's the only tank with serious range and no damage falloff.. his weak kit is to balance his potentially never ending ultimate.
Will be played to cap hard to cap 3rd point maps. Probably not a full time hero but a switch in hero. Also prob needs lucio for sure

with ramattras block you can tank dvas ult and only take 250 damage, same thing with junkrat tire, if you manage to block his ult you only take 180 damage

I stopped at "ranged damage is gonna be his hard counter", this is absolutely untrue. I found I could win more games as him in ranged maps such as Circuit Royale and Junkertown. He has reasonable effectiveness at both close and long range.

FYI with the vertical pull down, Sojourn can slide out of it no issue, Echo can fly out of it if you go horizontal first, Mercy can even Valk out of it.
his Ult can be LOS blocked by shields. so best counter hiding behind a shield like a Winston bubble. heck even Brigittes shield blocks it. so and enemy team hiding behind Rhine shield can just shoot him off the payload if he pops alt
As a 200HP/100Shield dps with only nemesis form and Reaper measures he would be fine.
But being Rein tall, less tanky than Doom with Zenyattas mobility idk man.

Popping his ult then just sitting in a corner blocking is so funny especially if you have a good support because you are just unkillable

At least there are so many ways to buff him, shorten his cooldown, maybe buff his movement speed in nemesis, maybe buff his base damage, maybe increase his punch damage from 60 to 65

Dang, actually doesnt look that unbalanced. That Ult is very strong feeling but the idea of just running LOS and letting it peter out is actually good and reasonable counterplay.
Yeah especially when you have heroes like doomfist that can push him away or Orisa throws the javelin with knock back and stun , ana with sleep dart basically any heroes that can keep him away for few seconds and his ult will run out every quick and he’s really slow with no mobility
The only time his ult will actually be useful is in contesting the point/payload

@@davidx5947 I don't think so because you have to use an ult to be able to copy an enemy ult, even if you can get 2 ults off it still doesn't make echo better as the character you copy in the first place has access to everything echo has access to but unlimited
