    With this type of footwork a good oponnent can time you and knock you down easily.

      You wont be doing a footwork drill in the ring against a live opponent! This is a drill to condition the feet, legs and awareness. Also to be mindful of movement, stopping and punching, it's a mindful learning exercise. I suggest you get a good boxing coach if you are interested in learning boxing so you can understand all aspects of training to be a boxer.

    You keep looking down at he cones! But it’s a good drill!

      Yes that's right the drill is more about the footwork itself, focusing on the feet then on the combination. Its also about not knocking any cones over so having to stop the drill. When boxing an opponent you definitely will be looking up and focusing on the opponent but for this it's more an agility and coordination drill. Not to say you cant try it without looking at the cones and challenge yourself to not knock any over! Thanks for the feedback!
