I found this song on MTV the day my first relationship ended. When I was homeless at 13 I had only one album, ocean avenue gave me faith that "everything is gonna be alright". That video was uploaded on my birthday, Feburary 24th.
@@2BAvalonI'm doing good; I lived the life I did for the strength to inspire others. Many people know me as one of the few who regularly runs the biggest hill in Los Angeles (lows of San Pedro to the summit of Palos Verdes). I've inspired the homeless, high ranking police officers, millionaires and gangsters with face tattoos. When a beautiful woman, child or old man gives me accolades I reciprocate and the strength I don't know they have adds to mine; I hope I do the same for them.

With the way things are going, I expect to be homeless in the next decade. I’m not afraid of it, but I do have some advice. Make sure to have a tent, and if you’re in a cold climate a giant blanket and tarp to put on top. Moisture is your enemy. Stay alive. And always good vibes.
I feel like there's no words to describe some things, only a silence that our spirit whispers in an unknown language - I remember first driving alone as a teenager to Yellowcard in the day, then Hammock later the same night, and for over 10 years since then. This collaboration is surreal, capturing an unspeakable voice of many of our individual memories - well done. There's 'Truth' in this song, and it speaks for itself, not only the lyrics but in it all. Purposed Sound.
Thank you yellowcard! Only the best! You've been in my ears for 20 years. Cheers to another 20! Now my kids love yellowcard. Training them in the way they should go.
@@Hondaguy82xlbut on the real, I have coworkers around your age and none of them know Yellowcard which just absolutely blew my mind. Ocean Avenue was EVERYWHERE in the mid-00s. Yellowcard is a gem from an era stacked with incredible talent, so I’m glad you’ve found them!
im so happy that youre back guys, i went your show in 2011 at carioca club, im so happy to see you guys back, please , do more, rock with violin, i love that, love from brasil !!!!
Commenting now before I've even heard the track, after hearing Hammock's rendition of "Ocean Avenue", I am not ready for this. I am tearing up just thinking about it, oh God I'm not ready.
I was thinking the same, but if you look up the original lyrics, it is indeed "Broken this fragile thing now". I guess they changed it up for this version.
*I was just listening to your first album a few days ago and thought to myself, "Where have they been the last like 15 years?" This is awesome. The original version of this song was always my favorite. It's nice to see this. Also, I didn't know you guys were local from Jacksonville. Let's go FL!* 💪😤👍
@@SadButTrue273 *I literally have no idea what the name of it was or what names of most of the tracks even are. I just remember when it came out and their first music video premiered and it was all over the TV and radio. I think I was still in highschool, but I used to blast that first album everywhere in my first car. It was the first time I'd seen a violin mixed in with rock. I love when different and unusual instruments and genres mix to make something badass and not weird.*
I am a yellowcard boy but as my father introduced me to sufjan stevens, this is really hurting me. But i love Only One's original version a bit more 😅❤
I love the orignal Only One so much. This version... I don't know man. It doesn't do it for me. It lacks the pure energy that stomped the original into my memory. Glad to see Yellowcard is back though.
I don't know about this sound. For me, the music is off-putting and distracts so much from the lyrics in this version, instead of them complementing each other. I enjoy remixes and mashups that give a new sound to familiar songs, but not all are good.

Hammock is my favorite band. I grew up listening to Yellowcard. I still can't believe this collaboration happened. The album is splendid. 💜
One of my favorite punk emo bands from when I was 13/14 collaborating with one of my favorite post rock bands 20 years later... This is so beautiful!
Everything is gonna be alright is a healing song. It helped a lot of ppl that I know.

you gave me a warm ray of Californian sun in sad and cold Poland
Did California send you a massive tax bill for listening to this song though? Newsom needs his money 😂
Absolutely love this version too!
Amazing 👏👏👏
Hammock deliver different feel from this song ..
***SO BEAUTIFUL ***3
I just discovered you guys recently and you kick serious ass
Should've been there 20 years ago when they showed up.

Fire! You guys are legendary!!
Ocean Ave, now this... totally awesome! 🤙🏼
you say this as if there wasn't a quarter of a century between the 2
О да, я большой фанат разрывного Yellowcard, а в фите с Hammock, их звучание такое... душевное, прекрасное.
Обожаю ))
You are welcome again ❤ 15 years learning this group!!!!😊

just checked your stuff after knowing your early 2000s stuff. Your sound really matured. All the best
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Fuck yeah. I search TH-cam for a cool band from when I was a teenager and they’re still doing it well.
Thank you!
There is a tension in the chorus that isn’t there in the original and it is sooooooooo good
goosebumps! ❤
with Hammock, this song feels like Far Cry 5 soundtrack and i loved it
Wow!!!😊
Yellow cards have changed in a happy way.
Це прям неймовірне поєднання поетичності "Yellow Card" та милозвучності "Hammock "❤️
Hang on what, all this time I’ve been singing, “Broken THIS fragile thing now” and im only just learning it’s BROKENNESS???
i was litterally just thinking this haha

Which first album? "Midget tossing" or did you think "one for the kids" was the first? Genuine question

Sin violín 🎻 no es Yellowcard 😢
Esta con madre la rolita de todos modos

I like the song but you just can’t beat the original.
there's no reason to beat the original, it's something different
Why do they need to be compared. Let them be their own thing.
@@Lighthouse1810 relax lol so sensitive . I compared them because they are literally the same song. Same name and everything lol
@@seembou I hear that. Just my opinion to prefer the original to this version. 👍

Hi ☕️
sounds like someone sing into the void, this has no movement.
It's nice, i'm not sure I love the new chords progression as much as the original, but it has a strong identity.
Not really a fan of this one, the original song has so much movement and emotion, this sounds like he’s just singing over a random instrumental song
Agreed
Agreed. This version has no soul. It saddens me to say that since I am a big Yellowcard fan.

this goes hard on 0 volume
Eh this sucks all emotion and feeling out of the song
Sadly, new album will old songs album... :-(
they ruined the awesome chord progression, its the whole point of the song
