I'm excited that there will be so many Yellowcard fans that will discover Hammock's music. They are going to fall in love and their lives are about to change.
in grade 12, back in 2005, this was mine and my best friends song. we changed the lyrics when we’d sing it, to be the name of the street i lived on. we’d sit on the curb at 12am in front of my house and take myspace emo selfies and sing this song while smoking cigarettes/weed😂 i miss those simple times and my friendship with her
this is incredible! my heart and soul will always be stuck in the early 2000's era pop punk/emo & metal scene! this was a beautiful rendition of Ocean Avenue! heading over to HammockMusic right now! Thank you
My favorite pop punk band and my favorite post-rock band. The soundtrack to my childhood and the soundtrack to my young adulthood. When I first saw this I thought I was imagining things. You guys have no idea how happy this makes me! Thank you so much, truly 💜💜💜
This is the collaboration that I would never guess would happen in a million years. Hammock is one of my all-time favorite bands, and I'm so happy they continue to get the recognition they deserve.
Still Hits The Same!! "Landmarks Driving By, Stomach Tied In The Good and Bad Knots All At Once"! This Song Is A Memory Strobe Light 🚨 And God It Feels Good!🙏
MX
Having Yellowcard back in my life for the past year or so has had a remarkably positive impact on my mental health. Thank you, guys, for everything. 🙏 I am so excited that the reimagined YC songs Ryan was talking about and sharing in the COVID/Patreon era are finally seeing the proverbial light of day. Ryan, I’ve told you before that your voice is astonishing. Like goosebumps-level great. Thanks for proving me right … again. ❤ See y’all side-stage in Ohio on July 5th! 🎉
Yessss! I had already come to terms that maybe the project had been shelved because he would want to focus on new YC stuff. I’m so glad the project wasn’t abandoned and is an even better time for it to be releasing right now.
14 years ago I met a girl on my last 2 years of high school, she was an absolute delight to hang with, without realizing it, I fell for her, though I've always been terrible at expressing such things, and thus we kept being friends and hanging out on the weekends, Yellowcard was always and still is a big part of my life, back then this song resonated with me and her, a year later after finishing high school she left the country and all I could do was say my goodbyes to her and wish her well, all I had to remind me of her was this song among others from Ocean Avenue. The years went by and despite meeting other girls, none of them had the spark she had, that special smile and personality, fast forward to today, I'm 31 and this song will always bring the memories of those 2 sweet years with her, they were brief but I'd love to relive them. This cover was beautiful, it truly brings a more nostalgic feeling to the lyrics, thank you YC! You guys will always be the soundtrack of my life!
I'm going out on a limb and saying that I hope I'm not the only one who felt a multitude of emotions ranging from being overcome to a hidden inner happiness (could be nostalgia or just the feeling post rock gives) to feeling the peace and calm this version gives. Nostalgia + Post Rock mastery converging in this masterpiece.
Gorgeous rendition of this song. This song, and the whole album was pretty much the soundtrack to my life in the 2000's. This brought up some feelings I forgot I even had.
I've been listening to both pop-punk/emo and ambient/post-rock for years, but I've always seen them as very distant worlds from each other. It's wonderful to finally see these two worlds come together
Yellowcard, this version just gives me all the feels.... Memories of a long lost love of my teenage years🥲 this guy (My best guy friend) introduced me to you guys when we met when I was 15. I immediately fell in love with OA and Only One and we went to all your concerts over the years... Late nights together studying, sneaking around town at midnights till dawn etc.. unfortunately we crossed the line in our friendship a few years later and it got very complicated and I had to cut things off permanently to protect myself but he didn't take it well because we knew we meant a lot to each other... We spoke for the very last time over the phone whilst we were 1000+ of miles apart from each other all night and I quoted some yellowcard songs to help articulate how I felt and that was the end of our 10+ years friendship.... I am happily married now living in another country, but I still think of him every once in a while, hoping and praying he is doing ok. He will always have a special place in my heart and Yellowcard, thank you for bringing him into my life ❤ "theres a place on ocean avenue, where I used to sit and talk with you, we were both 16 and it felt so right, sleeping all day staying up all night....." ❤
Not at all what I was expecting, but I'm just glad and thankful Yellowcard is at it again! @Yellowcard, you are the reason I still have a semblance of spirit, passion, and love in these dreary times. You are part of the reason I am alive. Your music is like a piece of hope in my phone that can't be taken away. And one day, I look forward to listening to all of your most happy songs when I am at peace in my life, and I dream of listening to all of the passionate love songs and other songs with my future gf and wife, if I can find one. Just like high school kids in 2003 :).
This is a beautiful version of Ocean Avenue 🥹 still one of my favorite songs to belt out but now even one to softly sing and feel another type of way. Oh my heart. I love this.
I never though this would happen. Hammock is such a different world from Yellowcard, and yet here we are with this beautiful collab that shouldn’t make sense but works like nothings wrong 💫🩵🥺 chefs kiss 👌🏽
If this was the original I never would have loved it the same. It's good but my heart doesn't shatter in pieces until after I dedicated it to my dog who passed away. World's greatest dog to have ever lived. This songs for you, Jaguar.
You HAVE to come to Mexico's City!!! I got back 20/21 years si when I was a young 13 years old girl. And I loved the original version and style. I had a crush on a friend's cousin, and I knew we would never be anything. Years later I knew about the story of Ryan's friend, and the other meaning of this song. Last year I lost one of my best friends, and 12 years ago, I lost 2 persons really close to me. I think about them all the time. Thank you for this lovely new version!!! ❤ I love you deeply, and I will always love you!! 😊
Hammock is amazing. I first heard them from the movie Columbus. I was lucky to see YC -Ocean Avenue 10yr and 20th anniversary shows. This song was my entire childhood
WHAT ! ? i used to be a fan of Yellowcard in my younger years. And still listen to their music sometimes, so nostalgic. Brings back all my late teen years. Hammock is (besides 'This will destroy you' ) my most listened band for years now ! I would never ever have made this link... but it's WAUW. Thx so much!
It's truly phenomenal seeing this finally come to fruition. After all these years of hearing this song on repeat you've found another way to pull on my heartstrings and give me goosebumps! Cannot wait for the rest of a hopeful sign. Beautiful, stunning work.
its very nice to hear a very memorable song from my favorite band since 2010, specially the revival of my favorite song! Nice job Yellowcard, you are bringing teenage memories on my part!
I listened to that Yellowcard album on repeat for years as a teen driving to and from school. It came to symbolize that chapter of my youth. Then as an adult I found Hammock and have loved them for years. To hear this collaboration is incredibly soul soothing. I'm so glad you came together for this. Thank you.
This is the sort of music that plays in nostalgic dreams. Your long dormant memories dance together as you walk through the corridors of a familiar high school. You feel both hungry for life and terrified of it, as your young heart suffers tsunamic emotional waves from somewhere beyond your reckoning. You wander endless halls with shadow puppets that wear the essence of people you once held dear, now lost to time. You feel infinite gravity on your soul. You plummet and wake, for hours you can't feel your age.
This is this incredibly healing for my broken millennial heart. What a ride these past 20 years have been. Thank you Yellowcard.
Same here.
Same.
Same
True for so many of us
Hugs to you all. Hope you don’t have many more
This version of this song made 20 years of weight hit me all at once. Legit made me cry. Beautiful.
I was gonna write, “Can’t top the original version,” but this is powerful
Couldn’t agree more 🎉
I'm excited that there will be so many Yellowcard fans that will discover Hammock's music. They are going to fall in love and their lives are about to change.
I've been listening to Hammock since 2013 and so excited so many others get to experience them. This is beautiful.
These are the most beautiful feature i can dream. Just beautiful, hope u all good
Totally agree! I've been listening to Hammock since 2010 and I just REALLY want more people to know about them
It's amazing how the new version of this old song takes me back to my childhood in some different way.
Yellowcard was the music of my teens. Hammock is the music of my 30's. What a wonderful combo.

hammock makes everything beautiful and poetic, including Yellowcard!
They are incredible 🎉
This is so calming and beautifully done. The vocals and visuals are mesmerizing. It's inspiring to know that Yellowcard is still making great art.
I actually knew Hammock since 2013, and Yellowcard since their debut. It felt unreal to see them together, it makes me so happy.
This is so damn beautiful, _can make a grown man cry_

I'm feeling the exact same way! Grew up with Yellowcard and would study to Hammock at uni
Same!!
Glad I'm not the only pop punk kid that grew to find solace within post-rock.
I have no words I’m speechless I saw them when the came back together and this is just idk
This is the collaboration that I would never guess would happen in a million years. Hammock is one of my all-time favorite bands, and I'm so happy they continue to get the recognition they deserve.
Yellowcard AND Third Eye Blind?!? Okay, this is a tour that sparks interest and I gotta get tickets to a show.
Wait what? Really?
Christ, 9 months and this hasn’t cracked 200k views? Yeah, the world has lost its mind.
What a beautiful version of the song ❤
This is such a beautiful and calming re-imagining of a song that already meant a lot to me. This is just so well done.
February 9th baby! Cant wait for the rest of the album!!!
Yellowcard, thank you for growing up with us, you're a family of my heart from me being 16 in 2006, you're my Beatles
Who would have thought we would have gotten an upload from one of the greatest bands to ever live in the year 2024

What a beautiful reimagination of this iconic song.
This rekindles my teenage heartstrings. Thank you, Yellowcard. ❤
This song helped me on my stormy adolescence. As everyone mentioned, this brings nostalgia.
