This confirms my growth as a bourbon taster. My buddy and I cracked open a bottle of Taylor small batch a couple of months ago and I said that it has a faint odor of nail salons. But not in an off putting way.

Love this throw back. I like to hear about some of the good old times of whiskey. Asking now if you would pay $60-$80, but using it's only $40 and what if it was $30-$40 range as an argument.

Fun to watch the present vs the past...that is why they call it a gift (wait, what?)...I just was gifted with a bottle of Colonel E.H. Taylor Small Batch 1st and Only BinB which brought me hear to see your review(s)....it was very good and I would definitely say better than a C+ or B- . Thank you for sharing. Agree, that Eagle Rare is a more robust bourbon. Also Eagle Rate is easier for me to acquire in CT.

Drank this while I watched your video. Def agree on the apple and cherry notes, and sweetness. Also the finish while pretty shot does have a nice sweetness and a bit of a baking spice note. Never got the Oak you spoke about in the original review. Also Agree this is way above a c-. Fun to look back at your old vids and see how far you've come.

If I’m out and really wanted it $100 is acceptable for me even tho I pay retail for it which is $50. It’s my favorite bottle of all time so overpaying for me is fine because I know what it tastes and it’s worth for me in my life. Hopefully everyone can find that one bottle for them that just seduces your palate every time.

Found a makers BEP today and while I was there they had an allocated table limit 1 per. I’ve been trying to get any EHT for a long time. They had probably 10 small batch 5 straight rye and one single barrel. But I passed on them all for a Stagg. Hope to find an EHT again soon

I definitely don't get those notes on my bottle of EH Taylor Small Batch hahaha. I wish mine tasted like what you're explaining haha. I get funky Raisins hardcore on the nose with a little bit of apple and light fruits unique sandalwood of sorts. Taste of oak, cherry, vanilla, and darker fruits. Definitely one of my least favorite buffalo trace products. I am hoping it's a one off bad bottle.

Its fine, one of the better bt products to me. My issue with taylor is the same as most other bt products in my experience which is that its pretty bland and outclassed by other less expensive and more findable bottles to me. I think benchmark full proof is better and its easier to get and half the msrp. Over $45 theres just too many things id buy first. I think c was the right call. C is average.

Yes, EHT SmB is "rare" but the C+ grade is spot on... it's a decent Bourbon; nothing to get too excited about
