The secondary market and the insane flippers have absolutely ruined the ability for people to aquire special bourbons at a fair price. CRAZY
Secondary during covid has skyrocketed and stores are definitely aware.

I agree with Dan on this one. I was lucky enough to get a pour at $16 and loved it. Tasted like Carmel ice cream. So rich and buttery.

Name dropped your channel and you guys to a consultant at the hotel I am staying at and he brought in Emer T Lee 100th anniversary, an Elmer T Lee new unopened bottle, and a Van Winkle 12 year for me to taste gratis. In turn I gave him his 1st try of Col EH Taylor from his own hotel bar. Thanks guys
I gave $225 for a tornado bottle! Saving it for hard times! lol They got all the barrels from the center of the warehouse for this release, maybe that’s where the musty is coming from! Less air and light on the barrels! I’m just guessing! lol
I've had pours of both the four grain and the 18-year. Both were good, but neither one drank significantly better than the standard small batch / single barrel.
Four grain slaps, seasoned wood and cured oak are both crazy good too. There are still limits to what I'll pay for bottles
Don't think I will ever taste this! I'm just glad to be able to get the regular EH Taylor small batch for $68.99 and always in stock. Though I used to get that for $40 just last December. So I will begrudgingly stick to my small batch and I will like it! LOL!

I loved this stuff...... had a pour one day at a local pizza place, went back and finished the bottle with a friend a week later.
This was a $11.79 after tax per pour at Garfield's in the Chicago area.

Fun review. But in all seriousness- you guys need to review these types of bottles whilst wearing smoking jackets and ascots and smoking old Cuban Dunhills or Davidoffs. Oh, and the title should be “Unobtainium Junkies”!

Super hype for this I’m a huge fan of E.H if the bourbon gods allow you to find the ridiculously small allocations… I’m fortunate to still have a bottle of Four grain and this makes me need a drink thanks for the review ! Haha

I was lucky enough to get a bottle of EH Taylor small batch a few weeks ago at MSRP. I haven't cracked it open yet, but I'm looking forward to trying it for the first time. Great review guys.

I would love to get my hands on an EH Taylor but this month has been great though with finding Barrel Dovetail, Lost Monarch, Emerald Giant Rye, Old Forester 100 proof rye, George Dickel 13 year BIB and George Dickle Rye. Cheers guys!
Had a pour for 50 so I’m glad to see I didn’t get ripped off. It was very good. Also had the oldfanger knotter Madeira finished and I might have liked the knotter more. Both exceptional borderline once in a lifetime pours

I love E.H. Taylor but I’ve only ever found ONE bottle of Small Batch. Would love to find some Barrel Proof or even Single Barrel some day. Enjoy the good stuff for the rest of us 👍🏼
@bourbonjunkies It’s a solid pour. I cracked the bottle at a bar and enjoyed about 4 pours the first night. No regrets.

I can officially say that secondary market for bourbons became absolutely bonkers. Some stores are charging $10K for a single bottle of this Warehouse C variant, hard no thank you are in order. A single bottle of bourbon unless it survived through civil war and in perfect condition should not be charged for that kind of ransom money. Holy cow

I had a bottle of EHT Barrel Proof that was actually not as good as a Stagg Jr (I think it was batch 9) I did a side by side. I don't quite understand why people are paying so much for these EHT limited releases.
To be fair batch 9 stagg jr is an absolutely bonkers bottle that tops even alot of btac and other barrel proofs. So losing to batch 9 isnt THAT big of a deal
@@brandon_sprague it was a very good batch of Stagg, but I think I paid $100 for the EHT BP and $60 for the stagg jr. I'll always take an EHTBP for 80-$100, but no chance i'm seeking it out on secondary market after having that bottle.

Just a curious question, is the heat in the hut good for long term storage of your collection?
So we have an a/c unit in there, it just gets really hot fast when we're shooting. Plus it takes a while in heat to change the temperature of liquids. Long story short it's not ideal, but things like sunlight are worse

Buffalo Trace must use a very fruity strain of yeast. I have a hard time picturing the fruitiness coming from the barrel or aging process.

Wrong this time. Dont care about it at all. Normally youd be right tho. I already have a small batch and single. Small batch was $35 and single barrel was 70 i believe.

Sadly at this point eagle rare is limited too 😂. I'd go eht single barrel over any eagle rare I've ever had though.
