Name dropped your channel and you guys to a consultant at the hotel I am staying at and he brought in Emer T Lee 100th anniversary, an Elmer T Lee new unopened bottle, and a Van Winkle 12 year for me to taste gratis. In turn I gave him his 1st try of Col EH Taylor from his own hotel bar. Thanks guys
Never apologize for the bottle flip! Touching tips this week….. docking last week……You guys must have really missed each other while Sean was on vacation 👉👈 😉
I gave $225 for a tornado bottle! Saving it for hard times! lol They got all the barrels from the center of the warehouse for this release, maybe that’s where the musty is coming from! Less air and light on the barrels! I’m just guessing! lol
Don't think I will ever taste this! I'm just glad to be able to get the regular EH Taylor small batch for $68.99 and always in stock. Though I used to get that for $40 just last December. So I will begrudgingly stick to my small batch and I will like it! LOL!
Super hype for this I’m a huge fan of E.H if the bourbon gods allow you to find the ridiculously small allocations… I’m fortunate to still have a bottle of Four grain and this makes me need a drink thanks for the review ! Haha Love the bottle flips I do that too when I’m excited lmaooo 😂👍
Had a pour for 50 so I’m glad to see I didn’t get ripped off. It was very good. Also had the oldfanger knotter Madeira finished and I might have liked the knotter more. Both exceptional borderline once in a lifetime pours
I was lucky enough to get a bottle of EH Taylor small batch a few weeks ago at MSRP. I haven't cracked it open yet, but I'm looking forward to trying it for the first time. Great review guys.
I love E.H. Taylor but I’ve only ever found ONE bottle of Small Batch. Would love to find some Barrel Proof or even Single Barrel some day. Enjoy the good stuff for the rest of us 👍🏼
I would love to get my hands on an EH Taylor but this month has been great though with finding Barrel Dovetail, Lost Monarch, Emerald Giant Rye, Old Forester 100 proof rye, George Dickel 13 year BIB and George Dickle Rye. Cheers guys!
I've had pours of both the four grain and the 18-year. Both were good, but neither one drank significantly better than the standard small batch / single barrel.
Fun review. But in all seriousness- you guys need to review these types of bottles whilst wearing smoking jackets and ascots and smoking old Cuban Dunhills or Davidoffs. Oh, and the title should be “Unobtainium Junkies”!
So we have an a/c unit in there, it just gets really hot fast when we're shooting. Plus it takes a while in heat to change the temperature of liquids. Long story short it's not ideal, but things like sunlight are worse
Dan, you are such a nice guy! Sean, be better, if you would like, go back and watch how amazing Dan is. It’s like Dan being an amazing dad and giving his son the Christmas present he has asked for all year.
Sean said “tastes like barrel proof but at 50%.” For rarity I’m sure the C is more desirable but what is better between those two (C vs EHTBP) if you were just going to drink it?
Awesome! I love these reviews. If only you did more of these with bottles we are more likely to find on the shelf. Like just the other day I was having trouble deciding between Pappy 20 or Pappy 23... but decided to grab to Old Rip 10s from my local store. Anyway... when are we getting a Dickel 8 year review?
I can officially say that secondary market for bourbons became absolutely bonkers. Some stores are charging $10K for a single bottle of this Warehouse C variant, hard no thank you are in order. A single bottle of bourbon unless it survived through civil war and in perfect condition should not be charged for that kind of ransom money. Holy cow
I had a bottle of EHT Barrel Proof that was actually not as good as a Stagg Jr (I think it was batch 9) I did a side by side. I don't quite understand why people are paying so much for these EHT limited releases.
To be fair batch 9 stagg jr is an absolutely bonkers bottle that tops even alot of btac and other barrel proofs. So losing to batch 9 isnt THAT big of a deal
@@brandon_sprague it was a very good batch of Stagg, but I think I paid $100 for the EHT BP and $60 for the stagg jr. I'll always take an EHTBP for 80-$100, but no chance i'm seeking it out on secondary market after having that bottle.
I thought "Hey Paula Dean, settle down" would be the highlight, then Dan snakes back-to-back pours from the vampire and shoots them. D@MN. Would have bet money that was the point that Sean finally threw a McFly haymaker...
If I ever see any Colonel E.H. Taylor bottle for double the MSRP or less I’m buying it. I don’t expect that to ever happen, of course, but it’d be nice. 😢
@@BourbonJunkies if it's that much better then so be it. I'm just kind of skeptical about the objectivity of the limited release stuff nowadays; especially from Buffalo Trace.
@@BourbonJunkies fair enough. I'm kinda done with Buffalo Trace stuff though. Not worth the $ and effort tracking their stuff down. So much good stuff out there that's priced reasonably AND available. Cheers fellas!
Wrong this time. Dont care about it at all. Normally youd be right tho. I already have a small batch and single. Small batch was $35 and single barrel was 70 i believe.
Dan "Do you want to touch tips?"
Riki standing outside the hut listening thinking "I told you all so"

Here for the temperature updates - thanks for delivering Dan!

I agree with Dan on this one. I was lucky enough to get a pour at $16 and loved it. Tasted like Carmel ice cream. So rich and buttery.
It tasted like schnozberries to me!
Never apologize for the bottle flip!

Very cool that you were able to review it. I cant find anything but the small batch so...... count yourself lucky. I know i would!
We most definitely do. We never thought we'd try this one.
I loved this stuff...... had a pour one day at a local pizza place, went back and finished the bottle with a friend a week later.

The Bourbon market is just trolling the Taters because they can. Sean's assessment cracks me up. I'm here for it.
I need to start tailing cline. Dude gets all the unis.
Good stuff guys. We got to try Tornado Surviving. Tasted like… EH Taylor. 😂 All good on these 100 proof special releases after trying that.

So true...
Professional or a really good editor and doesn't show the graveyard of glass on the floor?
😂🤣 maybe both!
Nice EPC shirt. Sleeper cigar maker.
You know that frustration on Sean's face.. Everyone who buys that on secondary, just made same face.
I was hoping for a third throwback. That was amazing. Great review!
The secondary market and the insane flippers have absolutely ruined the ability for people to aquire special bourbons at a fair price. CRAZY
Secondary during covid has skyrocketed and stores are definitely aware.
Well stop buying the stuff like I did! I promise you the prices WILL tumble...

Four grain slaps, seasoned wood and cured oak are both crazy good too. There are still limits to what I'll pay for bottles

Dan: Finishes like 3 ounces of bourbon in 20 seconds.
also Dan: "Drink responsibly though."
Three ounces and how many dollars haha unreal
$200 of bourbon in 20 seconds
This was a $11.79 after tax per pour at Garfield's in the Chicago area.
That's crazy cheap!
I'd ask for the bottle then

I get buttery notes from EHT SB.
“I’m like Popeye on spinach right now”- that says it all.
Great video! But “borrow” seems an odd word when you return the bottle with less in it…. 😎
Procure a sample from a bottle we don't own
There's a bottle of Warehouse C in a shop here in OKC collecting dust with a price tag of $2,999
yea a lot of stores basically just have trophy shelves with bottles like that
