Thanks for making this video. It seems like there's very little content out there about the inner loop. I've heard this project is being recognized nationally as an example of how beneficial it can be to convert existing freeways. I can't wait to see what comes next!
Good episode on the personal tour guide . It is really nice how they were able to revitalize that area . What no Slim Jim's ? Take care and see ya next week .
Absolutely loved this one! You did a good job at making us feel at home in Rochester. Props to your town for not giving up and moving forward! Sam lives near Toledo, I live near Youngstown, and politics are just brutal. Ohio could and do much better. Anyways, loved the tour and If I needed a place to retire to Rochester is on the short list.
Tones of small cities/towns on the other side of Lake Ontario that resemble what I just watched...the combo of historical and new. I live in a city of over a million people just west of Toronto that's basically 80s and newer construction so I definitely enjoy visiting places like what I just saw in your video...love how the history was preserved while building new communities.
awesome vid, love that you left the woman asking for a dollar in. That modern urban renewal is so amazing. I worked in an urban core area in the late 80's, early 90's and after 5 oclock everybody left and everything closed. But now, 30 years later, the very same area is full of folks, even during covid, just out enjoying and living in the downtown area.
This is Greenville, SC too! I first came here when I was 18 or 19 and living here now at 37 so much changed with all these new apartments parking garages and skyscrapers just popping up everywhere and spreading lol. I really like it and definitely glad I dont live in the city but its nice its right down the road if I ever wanna go out
Hey Kevin, I am so glad I found your channel through Camping with Sam Bananas. I absolutely love your style, it keeps you engaged the whole time. All I'm doing now is catching up to present time, really enjoying your past videos. Thank you for doing what you do. Ride That Tasty Wave
Awesome as always Kevin. Thank you for sharing. This was truly an awesome video, I liked hearing about Rochester NY, and seeing it and what it used to look like, WOW Pretty Cool Kev Kev Pretty Cool 😎. It's getting closer to February lol 😆 🤪 😅 I can't wait till you come back. I can't wait to see what you have in store for the channel. KEEP ADVENTURING GOD BLESS YOU 🤗HUGS🤗
Windows in the parking garage help with natural light and keep the parking structure secure. Open, multi level parking structures are easily gotten into.
Rochester is a pretty nice looking city, the nearest city to me is Baltimore Md. Its an absolute rats nest!!! Thankfully I'm about 35 miles from it!!!!
You're not a sicko like I am. I'd go after serial killer locations. Arthur Shawcross. Alphabet murders. What did that lady say about a dollar? Did she offer something? I couldn't quite make it out.
That's what we really need, high income apartments, gentrification, cutting down trees needlessly. Maybe the new mayor can also funnel tens of millions of dollars to corrupt realtors while the city poverty is one of the highest in he nation. I left town 7 years ago, Union Street wasn't even a road when I left, it was a dirt pile. Is it an improvement, you bet, still doesn't solve any of Rochester's very serious problems.
Gentrification of... A highway? Most of these buildings are market rate with low-income units, units set aside for veterans, and units set aside for people who just got out of prison. Know what you're saying before you just start regurgitating stupid bullshit you heard somewhere.

Enjoy these being sprinkled in. Gives us a glimpse of life in your hometown.
Thanks uncle dubz! Sometimes I gotta take some time off of camping even if I know the video will bomb haha
Thanx soooo much for continuing to put up videos Kev! You and Sam-B are a mainstay of my TH-cam video enjoyment! 😉
It's amazing what they did with Union Street. Those new condos/ apartments are beautiful. Keep it going Rochester.
Yeah, there are new buildings all over the city, it's great!
Thanks for the tour Kevin. I loved the reliefs, very nice. I gotta say that’s the best and only solarium/parking garage I’ve ever seen.😎

Beautiful new buildings. And plenty of green areas to stealth camp in.
Haha not really too many good clusters of trees unfortunately
nice video, lovely weather, interesting city, that sandwich looked delish :)
It was!
Love this episode kevin. Love your city. Kool man. I loved the ballerina at the end

I already started posting again, and a new camping video drops tonight :)
More exploration needed I love seeing your city. And need to see more especially pee tunnel. How is that place doing BTW?
Still long and stinky... For now
Palermo's had a great deli on Culver Rd. in Irondequoit right on the very edge of the city near Norton St. before they closed...
I used to live on Canfield Pl, right there next to Roc Brewing. I miss this area dearly......I'm so homesick...
Come on back, the city is going through a lot of changes!
You pass by my apartment building!! Enjoy your video as always.
Hey, thats awesome!
Thanks for the great video,I loved it.
It was called the Inner Loop. We used it as a race track for motorcycles in the mid seventies
Yes, indeed it was. Half of it still remains!
Great tour!
Dude this was great!
Thanks man!
hehehe the bit where you try to do the car exhaust sounds with your lips, aahhhh haha hilarious! ur so funny :D
Wow, I guess I haven't been down there in a while. I live in the Charlotte area
Kevin, with all this new construction in Rochester, I worry about the fate of the pee tunnel #savethepeetunnel.
It's fate hangs in the balance

Yeah, I get that, just makes more sense with metal bars imo. I guess that doesn't look as nice though...
@@smallplots I could be wrong, but from a distance windows look cleaner and more welcoming than bars

Run a tab at Ugly Duck Coffee and you can legitimately say, “Put it on my bill.”
Ayoo!
At 13:07 is the building where Metallica recorded it's 1st album.
Well hey how about that
Hot damn, I thought you were full of shit, but you’re right! That’s crazy. Never knew
Kill Em All
@@shawnforpresident5198 I only knew because they mentioned it when they played the Blue Cross Arena back in 91.
Metallica was from Rochester?
Nice to show people rochester isn’t just a total shit hole. There’s nice places too!
Yeah! I figured it was time
I think you should do a tour of caunkee ave and ave. D.
Haha no chance
There building everywhere
Porta Poties always tell the tale...lol
If only you knew
Downtown Rochester,New York looks a lot like downtown South Bend,Indiana except bigger
15 min city???? Oh Nooo!!!!!
population of that part of the city increased by 5000?
between 4000 and 6000 ppl leave my country per week, to begin life in other countries
Oh my!
Sad and scary place with no foot traffic. I wouldn't be caught dead there. Especially, since I remember how it used to be in the 70's and 80's.

What did that lady say about a dollar? Did she offer something? I couldn't quite make it out.
I was ignoring her trying to get my attention so she yelled "HEY do you have a dollar"
Lots of empty new apartment buildings in china....so there's that.
Sucks to be China
