Small Plots
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 2 มี.ค. 2021
Welcome to Small Plots with Kevin, I'm Kevin. I like to find small plots in which to plop, predominantly to camp, but hey- who knows what kind of small plots we'll get into.
On this channel you'll find hammock camping, tarp camping, maybe even some tent camping. I camp year-round and decided to start chronicling the experiences. The goal is generally to start a fire, sit down, and crack some frosty suds, my dudes.
I am not a "professional" camper, so my goal is not to teach. There are a million bushcraft channels you can check out if you're looking to learn valuable skills. Here on Small Plots, camping is a means to escape city life and take in some nature, so let's gooo!
You can also find me on TH-cam as Kevin Markis, where you'll see things like animation and live-action skits.

Idiots Guide to the Best Camping Gear - I've used the same gear for years!
I haven't done a video like this in years... mainly because I haven't changed my gear in years! Here's an overview of the camping gear that's stood the test of time over the years of filming Small Plots.

I was being watched while looking for a place to stealth camp
มุมมอง 9Kวันที่ผ่านมา
Todays episode is a little raw, and a little creepy. I'm sick this week so I didn't have time to get out for a normal video... luckily, I had filmed some raw footage of scouting around for stealth camps the week prior. What I found in these woods was unnerving to say the least. Join me for an inside look at what it's like to find a stealth camp that is definitely not going to cut the mustard. #...

Some channel named Jose Diaz is reposting all your videos. Just thought you would want to know
I looked into it, Jose is a longtime sub. I believe he's just adding my videos to a public Playlist and categorizing the content. They all link back to my original video, so I don't believe there's any foul play here. Thanks for the heads up, though! I really appreciate it
This is Kevin at his best! 👍👍 Love the videos man! 😃
Thanks papa smurf!
It's so very wet "from the standpoint of water"
lol my parents live around there
Haha awesome
Nice and simple! Much respect for using the same gear and not becoming a gear addict.
Thanks man! It works so well, I'm afraid to buy new gear that's not as good
This type of video is great! I love watching videos of people walking around and exploring but not like travel shows ya know? I don't want them too processed or showing me just the tourist-y things. Feels fake where as this video and what you usually do feels real.
Glad you like it! I'll try to sprinkle in some more
Please don’t give up, this is a 1million subscriber teir editing
Wow Amazing, I feel like I carry a shipping container of gear with me! Bare essentials huh? One thing you did mention was the Air pump not deflating. I just got a Flextail pump on Amazon it looks to be maybe a little Smaller than yours and I think it is quieter? Maybe? (Only about $30) but it does blow and... Suck? (inflate/Deflate) also has a light. only used it a couple of times but so far love it! it also has a little LED light. I don't have a Go-Pro I have 2 Cho-Pro's (Korean made copyCat camera') they have some weird name though I just renamed them Cho-Pro 🤣but they were like $60 each, I really hate it when you think your recording , but the camera has turned itself off!! Still blown away by your Pack! there's like a 50L difference between yours and my Shipping container! great info Kevin! Providing value. Love the Wallis wallpaper BTW 😎 thanks
Oh thanks man, I'll have to check that out! And don't worry, most people I know carry depleted uranium shells and a small village on their back when going camping 😂
Good commonsense advice Kevin and product review. 👍😉😃 PS......The fuzzy face really suits you well! 😃😃😃
Thanks! 😃
Always play with goblins
They need attention
So nasty. Why do people have to be such pigs. Nasty people
Yes u don’t have to have all this expensive camping stuff I think I have $300 for winter camping and less for summer camping
you could have made a dakota fire hole and no one would have noticed
Worried about my pad melting if the fire is that close
Oh I think I do remember this video along time ago! I’m a very selective youtuber liker well or in this case I absolutely love watch your videos n sam bananas. Ya all crack me up and I’m a trucker and up in those areas at times and always say a prayer for ya guys❤. Thinking darn it I wish I was out with em but oh well lol.
That's awesome, thanks for watchin!
Nalgenes are made in Rochester ❤
Yeahp!
His face😂
You can use handwarmers for the cameras.
No need with the enduro batts!
@@smallplots cool
Would you ever consider doing a walk with some of your viewers? I’m similar in the fact that I enjoy exploring/ learning about the histories of our city (especially the downtown area). Oh and beer 🍺
I've considered it, but I don't think there would be much of a turnout, unfortunately
@@smallplots hey all it takes is 3-4 people and you never know 👍🏼
Hmmm hopefully it was just a deer not a meth head. But it’s Rochester. So. Meth Head.
Kevin steaith camps to Chopin and Debussy. Great job mate!
Haha good ear
You deserve much more...keep going. A man of class in the 'Stealth Game'.
Awesome I really do love the rain and camping in it, but lately, I really don't like to be cold Brrrrrr Looks relaxing, peaceful, wet, and actually pretty warm out there. I don't like it when it cold yikes 😬 😳 and you're wet makes it even colder 😬 😳
Cold rain is lame!
Hope your family in FLA did ok with Milton. I'm in Miami, and I was na na nervous! Peace
Thanks man! They were in a hotel just in case, but are safe and sound with no problems afaik
Prove that you love camping in the rain more than I do
Looks relaxing....and very wet!
@@MintIncorporated both are true!
🖖🤓🤙
I remember this one. It's so awesome, just like all your adventures. Stay awesome, Kevin. KEEP ADVENTURING GOD BLESS YOU
Same thing you did.
What would you do in this situation?
I would do the same thing you did. 😊
Would you camp behind an abandoned hotel?
Depends is there anyone with me ?
@@matthewadair4612 just the squatters living in the hotel
Ok at least there’s people 😂😂👍
Ha. Camping at ROC.
@@iPlaneFun haha yup
Can’t wait for your next full length camping vid
I've been sick, new camping vid hopefully coming this week!
Your post apocalyptic experience; it’s the little things the count

Fun fact I have met steve manys times and prefer me a small plot with Kevin over a hunker down any day
😁
If you wanted a rechargeable headlight.. I'd pick the Zebralight H600w. Currently own one, and it's wonderful. (I actually upgraded from the Black Diamond Storm.) Also, a small AAA light is nice as a backup. (I currently use a brass Peak Eiger Hi CRI.)
I'll check it out
😊amazing TH-cam videos in history 👌
Thank you! One of my favorites
Most of Rochester is sketchy unless you live in the burbs.
Nah, the southeast quadrant where everyone lives is pretty great. The rest can be a little 😬 sometimes
This was one favorites
One of my favorites *
Awesome as always Kevin
Thanks again!
I wish I knew what that thing was.
Me tooooo
😂😂 glad you're safe man 🙏🏽
Me too!
I hear you on the GoPro temperature failures. My Hero 5 Black has no trouble until -10°F but my Hero 10 Black will fail around 20° F or 90° F. Not sure I'll "upgrade" after the 10. Also, Silky Saws are great until you consider that they only cut on the back stroke. Go Agawa, my friend.
The small tarp for the small backpack for " Small Plots " ...with Kevin 😉
On brand!
Hello Kevin. I recommend the Nemo Tensor sleeping pad. They have 3 new versions depending how cold it is. I like the yellow one.
I'll check it out!
Love the Steve Wallis background!
Always watching
How about a few first aid items? Such as...bandaids, tweezers, antiseptic ointment, tylenol, small roll of guaze, etc. Ya never know, you might get a boo boo. 😅
I'm admittedly too lax about that stuff
@@smallplots that's ok, just sending you a little nudge🥰
I still don’t know how you fit everything in that bag lol As long as ya got something for each of the 5c’s of survival you’re golden (you do - plus the 6th C which is cerveza🍺 ). Great vid!
Haha yeah i make it work. Thanks man!
Dont think id ever camp behind an abandoned hotel but you turned a scary/depressing place into a fun little adventure. I csn appreciate that.
Hey thanks!
I have the exact same pad pump.
We have scorpions, centipedes and fire ants here so a tent is required. However it's usually warm enough at sea level to get away without a sleeping bag.
Try a hammock. Off the ground.
