thanks a lot for this tutorial, ive always found bendy limbs kinda complex but this tutorial was really well made and made me see them in a better way:)

Listening to the long names really had me confused about the rest of the tutorial. Once I ignored listening to the naming conventions, I understood what was going on immediately. It's rather simple.

For someone starting. something that will definitely help you out would be to flatten your plane on the grid once you've done the measurement. This will help you out lots when duplicating/aligning and all that jazz.

Hey that's a great tutorial indeed!
there's not many rigging videos available so more in the direction could be very helpful !

Thanks so much for the tutorial, I have just one problem : when I translate the main elbow controller, one of the secondary rotate on 180 on X, I ond't know what to change in the aim constraint to change that thing

Can you tell me how did you connect the ribbon elbow joint to the ik_elbow joint. How is that bending?

At 12:45, it looks like the pivot orientation of the elbow control changes -- it looks like it goes from being oriented on the world axes to being oriented along the joint chain. I'm not sure what's happening there, but I think it's related to a problem I'm having, which is that the ribbon twists when I move any of the controls. Any help appreciated!

I figured it out -- I hadn't matched the group and joint orientations.

Will this work with an fk arm?

I have never tried it on an fk arm so I’m not sure

you'll need to setup a IK/FK switch system or a IK/FK blend system. It consists of 3 joint chains: IK chain, FK chain and a follow joint chain. You connect the ribbon to the follow joint chain. The bind joint chain follows the IK or FK chain depending on the switch/blend value. Look up how to setup a IK FK blend or IK FK switch, then attach the ribbon to the "follow" joint chain.
