Trek to Chaco Canyon and visit several ancient Puebloan dwellings, kivas, petroglyphs, and pictographs left behind by the ancients.

I was fortunate enough to see Chaco in the mid 70's before the park service "cleaned" it all up. There was broken pottery everywhere and many grinding stone... Such an awesome experience 😊😊😊😊😊

I first went there, 30 years ago, and as a 12 year old, this place amazed me. I went on studying this culture as well as the Mesa Verde. They were definately on the same route. The old Chocoan road that leads south out of Chaco runs right through my back yard... Many sites and many beautiful scenes on that trail alone... In between Milan New Mexico and Chaco are some of the largest sites I know of. Some of them had whole vessels emerging from the wall of the eroding arroyo near by. So amazing! Thanks for the tour!
Despite what we think something very ugly happened at Chaco Canyon. The glyphs speak of starvation, warfare and invasion, and the construction would have been done by forced labor. Most of the kivas are actually grain storage, so this place was a center of trade, but most of it was actually tribute. It is an amazing place, I have been there, but it is far from a place of love and peace. The Supernova glyph contains a red hand print, which is a symbol of death by violence. In hand to hand fighting the thing you will see everywhere, and therefore is a symbol of violent death is...a bloodily handprint

BS, kivas were used for food and water/ice storage and a place for fermentation and brewing of beers. There is plenty of evidence that they were plastered inside and sealed with pitch. The whole layout was that of a beer factory.

Fascinating! How could anyone give a thumbs down?! I notice that many of the American Indian videos have this one lone jerk doing dislikes! I guess it takes all kinds, but I think it may just be to get attention! If the person sticks aroun, they just MIGHT learn something!!

the pictograph under the supernova pictograph sure looks like a comet to me.......but I sure don't remember seeing the flames coming from the circles, but it was a bright sunny morning.......are those able to be seen by doing some photo shop tricks like negative image or some such thing?
Superdave, thanks for watching and your observations. The red tail to the comet is difficult to see in a photographs unless you go to full contrast and turn up the saturation. It is very speculative that the symbol is Haley's Comet as, some Zuni ethnologists specualte that the symbol is a Zuni "Sun Observation" site marker..........alex

Yes. Apparently civilizations around the globe referenced the event in one way or another.
Serpenscaput is a "X", or head of the Serpent! It is an asterism but is actually the Paleo-Semitic letter, "tet"!

Nice to watch Pueblo Bonito filmed in that angle. You found a good prescription for a great video! I wonder if there's any maintenance done on the woodworking of the structure? The supernova, the hand and the moon seems to be protected by the overhang. That's nice to see. Thanks for sharing!☺️

Well, now ya have me exploring my old photos of pictographs... I remember the guides telling me that there was a super nova picto in a cave near me.... Awhile back I was researching the cave and apparently they no longer believe it is a super nova ( for whatever reason ) they seem to be much smarter than anyone else lol ... Anyway long story short I have another picto near me .. That has a left hand , a circle of life, and other pictos around it... I don't recall an asterisk looking Picto.... but after a recent fire the park now knows where it is and it is off limits ...but maybe not to you... Weathers good now
Hello Tuledude, apparently the way the quarter moon is positioned next to the sun or star burst image is the way the night sky would have looked like in a super nova event - bright night sky spot from the super nova explosion next to a quarter moon. The hand image is interpreted as possibly meaning a "sacred spot" . But, to me this is all very very very thin reasoning to exclaim that the images we are looking at are of a super nova. I am not convinced........alex

These building belong to small ancient people, funny to hear it belongs to Hopi or pueblo tribe
The Anastasi built this, not the Pueblo. The Pueblo even tell us they didn't build these and they are not descended from these people. My husband is of Native American descent. If they were, they would still be building like this. Petroglyphs like these are seen all over the world. For example "Squatting Man", is also seen in Australia. They saw a gigantic plasma figure in the heavens as a result of the electromagnetic and electrostatic forces in the atmosphere back then. There was a great celestial or heavenly event that took place that was so great, these ancient people all recorded what they saw. Our solar system didn't always look this way. The Earth didn't always look this way. The Native Americans call Mars, "Scar Face". How could they know this UNLESS Mars was very close to the Earth once in very ancient times. The Sunburst or Flower pattern that is repeated and seen all over the West, Mexico and even as far south as South America and in other places of the world represents a planet alignment of Saturn, Mars, and Venus that was close to the Earth. The whole world recorded this as they saw it. We are just now beginning to understand all of these cryptic symbols and are learning their meanings. Now the planets being so close to the Earth caused great catastrophes to occur on Earth. Great storms, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions. What you are seeing in all of these places are the "survivors" of these great catastrophes. And they wrote or inscribed on the rocks what they saw and did not understand. You can see this destruction all over the South West. Chaco Canyon has an "observatory" to record the movements of the sun, planets, and stars. This was a sophisticated culture.
