Jenny’s voice over is phenomenal. So relaxing and she sounds like a pro ❤. The retro fridge is the bomb. Especially because SMEG’s products are really expensive 😮.
Galveston is our closest port, plus I lived in Houston & Galveston as a youngster. I have stayed at many hotels there while cruising, especially hotels that have cruise parking since we drive in from North Texas. In addition to the Doubletree, we like the Harbor House next door to the port. It's a cool hotel with cruise parking. You can walk around the fun downtown & to the ship on embarkation morning. We also like the Hotel Galvez, an elegant older hotel and the beautiful San Luis Resort. Both are on the Seawall across from the Gulf and have free shuttles to the port. Hope you enjoyed your Texas stay!
@@gracewerlitz7447Whether you can walk to ship depends on cruise line. I know you can walk to Carnival terminal. However, Royal has a beautiful new terminal that is farther away from The Strand. Many hotels, including Harbor House, offer a shuttle there. Last May it was free when we stayed at HH.
Jenny with the voiceover! Very nice. For a second it caught me off guard. Looks like a solid option for people cruising out of Galveston. Enjoy your cruise guys. ❤ Cookies are a nice touch. Can't go wrong with a cookie!
Thank you so much for the sweet vid. Houstonian here, and we’re going on the Jubilee in a couple of months. January is a wildcard month for Houston re the weather; 35 degrees one day, 66 degrees the next.😅 Wish we could meet y’all; been following y’all for a couple of years; welcome to Houston. ❤ Can’t wait to see your review of the Jubilee. The Spot has excellent food, btw. But there can be really long lines, so go early. Y’all will love the sunrise tomorrow morning. You kids have fun! 🎉❤
We stayed at the Hilton Homewood Suites but we were not going on a cruise and we had our car. If we were coming down on a cruise we would stay at the Doubletree. We ate a Miller’s Seawall one night, it was really good. Katie’s Seafood House is also fantastic!
My group and I are staying there next month for our cruise on the dream. We've stayed there before, and look forward to it again. Their cookies are the best!
We stay at the George Manor bed and breakfast. Feels like you are back in time. The owners are amazing and they make us home cooked meals in their dining room. Love this place and highly recommend. We are spending Easter with them before we jump in a cruise the next day on the Royal Caribbean Voyager! Absolutely love your channel and thanks for the additional option for a hotel.
I live in Houston and we are very excited for all of the cruise buzz and plenty more options for cruising. Oh and it’s only 30 minutes from hobby airport to Galveston. Have fun and we are glad you guys are sailing out of Texas!!!
I really like that you are giving hotel recommendations We are not new to cruising but we are not familiar with many port cities and we usually find a fb group and join but we have found that they usually stay near the airports in the area Please do more hotel reviews and suggestions thanks
Luggage rack, if the Doubletree is connected to Hilton the free cookies are offered when you check in. I guess the price is standard for a tourist town. Hello Jenny glad you’re back.
Great views from the balcony. Looks like a comfortable room and great place to stay before a cruise. Appreciate the hotel reviews/recommendations for planning!
Houston is my home, so we've been to Galveston quite a few times. Never stayed at that Doubletree, but have stayed at plenty of other hotels. $230 is not bad at all for that location and beachfront view. Enjoy your cruise. We did the Jubilee for New Year's and had a friggin' blast!!!
Grew up in Houston, Galveston was like a second home as we had a vacation home on the west end. So many changes to a very cool city, I do hope you were able to get to the Strand and immerse yourself in its history. Enjoy that cruise!
This was right on time. My wife and I are going on Jubilee in September and I was trying to figure out where to book. I wanted to know if we needed to stay in Houston or in Galveston. Me being a Hilton employee helps a lot! Thanks for the review. You helped me out a lot with this one!
Howdy Ya'll, We stayed at TRU by Hilton about the same distance from the Boardwalk but the other direction and only paid $113 plus tax last weekend for a brand new hotel with pretty much the same amenities as yours. Too bad that we didn't get to meet you guys, but we did get to see the Jubilee as the Carnival Breeze pulled in this morning. Take Care!
My wife and i will be going on our first cruise maybe this year if not next year love warching the videos it helps me on what cruises to look for and what the rooms look like ty
Jenny/Tony - thank you for sharing. My husband I cruise every year out of Galveston and sadly we really don't know our way around the area. Our normal stay is at Holiday-Inn Seawall, we get a beach front room which the cost is close to the same - around $230-$300 per night and it includes breakfast (which we never go) and cruise parking for the duration of the cruise (7 night). They have a shuttle that takes guests to the pier and returns for pick up. We need to venture out and explore other hotels. Doubletree may be an option.
We enjoy the historic hotel galvez prior to our cruises from Galveston. Awesome pool and hot tub and a short walk to the pleasure pier. Enjoy y'all's cruise we're sailing the Jubilee in May so we'll be hanging on to your videos!
We have a cruised booked on the Jubilee. We have rented a 3 bedroom house from airb&b for just a bit above the price for that hotel on the day before the sailing. We are a family of 4, so that works for us. And it is supposed to be a 20 minute ride from there to the port. If you’re going on a cruise with more than two people, I would recommend trying an airb&b first, especially if you’re bringing kids. Hope y’all have a good cruise and we can’t wait to see and hear your take on it.
Galveston is my home port ❤ we usually stay at the Gaidos. It’s an older place but I still love. Good little restaurant, great pool area, and the price is right 🤓 they also have free cruise parking. You’ve inspired me to possible try a new spot
Welcome to Galveston!! I have always enjoyed staying at the Quality Inn on the seawall. I believe it was just down the way from where yall were as I saw it when Tony was out on the balcony. My dad and I will be heading down and leaving on the Regal Princess next Sunday.
Nice , we’re staying at moody gardens next week for our pre cruise stay , leave the jubilee in one piece for us , 😊 enjoy your cruise love birds, thanks for sharing 👍🏿
Great review Jenny! We love the Tremont Hotel near the Strand! While it is expensive, you can walk to the Port the next morning with your luggage as it's close. Great bars and restaurants within walking distance as well!
Love u guys..never been on a cruise..i lived in DE 22 yrs than CA 38 yrs now im in DE taking care of Mom...freezin...so im living vicariously thru your videos..gonna cruise with you all someday..Enjoy..hes a nice man Jenny
We stayed at the DoubleTree a few years ago and loved it. Nice vibes with the street side pool and bar. We’re staying at the Quality Inn Suites in April so that we can park there while we’re on the Carnival Jubliee.
Welcome to TX Tony & Jenny B!!!Galveston Island is a cool little place. I live about 40 minutes away. Since relocating to TX we’ve exclusively cruised out of Galveston. That will all change in May when we go on Icon and I visit Miami for the first time. Next time you visit Galveston you should check out the beautiful Historical Homes/Mansions. Go to Moody Gardens, and if you want a phenomenal Steak there’s a place not far in Kemah call T-Bone Toms. It’s kind of a local dive, in fact it was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives… but no joke their marinated steak is Have a great time!!
❤ Wire Hangersssss😂😂... I absolutely loved Tremont hotel. ❤ it is across the street from the Port. We walked to the restaurants live music all around good vibes.
Looks like a pretty average hotel room, with the exception of that really cute fridge! Two things missing (well, they're missing in most U.S. hotel rooms): an electric kettle and a comfy chair.
We love the Doubletree! We went on the Breeze in December and stayed there. We’re going on the Breeze next Sunday and staying there again 1/28,,, hate that we missed y’all by a week. The Longboard Bar is great, ask for Shannon if you go back. Tell him John & Rachel sent you! We’re actually hoping to do a little acoustic gig there next Sunday night. But $230/night, yikes! We paid $115 so not sure why so much higher. Enjoy the Jubilee!!
When we sail from Galvestonl we usually find a decent deals on hotels in Texas City, between Houston and Galveston. Just a few mile outside of Galveston.
Jenny’s voice over is phenomenal. So relaxing and she sounds like a pro ❤. The retro fridge is the bomb. Especially because SMEG’s products are really expensive 😮.
Jenny sounded GREAT!
If she doesn’t already, Jenny should have her own radio show.
I so agree with these comments. And I loved that the review included good and bad. Great job Jenny and Tony.
Love Jenny‘s voice giving us our tour❣️

Hoe close is harbor house to the port or do you have to take a cab or walk?
@@gracewerlitz7447 She wrote you can walk to the ship. That sounds great!

Staying there 2/29
Jenny you could do those voiceovers professionally! Loved it! And then Tony’s fun voiceover goes so well with the room tour! Loved it!
Completely agree 💯!!!
Love love Jenny's voice over during this video! More of this please! Go Jenny B !
great idea #LaLidoLoca. I wish everyone one of the cruise podcasts would talk about the different hotels to stay with.
That for the excellent review. I really appreciate that you showed what was in the area. Enjoy your cruise.
Jenny with the voiceover! Very nice. For a second it caught me off guard. Looks like a solid option for people cruising out of Galveston. Enjoy your cruise guys. ❤
Cookies are a nice touch. Can't go wrong with a cookie!

We just stayed there about 9 days ago. Great place. Great access to the beach and easy to get to the pier. Thought it was a great value.
My group and I are staying there next month for our cruise on the dream. We've stayed there before, and look forward to it again. Their cookies are the best!
Nice Voice over Mrs B

Hear from you.
You guys make a good team! Have a great cruise!!
Wow! Love Jenny doing the voiceover! ❤
We are sailing on the Prima out of Galveston 2/23. We booked Home2 Suites there the night before. Including breakfast with tax $129
Is there free cruise parking there?
And a shuttle?

DoubleTree would not be DoubleTree without the delicious Chocolate Chip cookie at the Front Desk!!
I really like that you are giving hotel recommendations

"No more wire hangers!!!" 😂 That's how I know we're the same age! That movie was scary!!

So glad to see you two in Galveston. My hometown. Have a great cruise on the Jubilee!! Hubs and I will be sailing in April!! Can’t wait!
Oh you have a perfect view of Seawall Blvd! Man I miss Galveston 🥰

Nice hotel - I bet that view of the Ferris wheel all lit up at night is beautiful ❤❤
We stayed here!!! It was amazing. Bar drinks were great as well. Hope you liked it as much as we did.
Welcome to Texas, looking forward to your content
Enjoy your cruise Tony & Jenny
Thank you guys
Gotta love those Doubletree cookies! They are always hot and chewy. Thank you for the tour! Loved hearing Jenny B narrate ❤
Nice hotel! I’ll keep that in mind for our next pre-cruise stay. We usually stay at the Harbor House. Thank you!
That’s where we stay when we cruise because we’re in Texas. Gorgeous hotel!!
Have a great time!!!
See you on the Jubilee.

Best western plus Galveston suites is the best. Every room has a balcony with an ocean view. Plus free breakfast. Loved it there and would stay again.
That's where we always stay as well!
Do you uber to the port? I'm so concerned about getting there ontime.
Is it pretty close to the pier? And the cruise port? We are cruising with Royal Caribbean?

We love the Tremont Hotel near the Strand! While it is expensive, you can walk to the Port the next morning with your luggage as it's close.
Great bars and restaurants within walking distance as well!
Going there as well for the first time in March! Looks beautiful!
Not an easy walk, however, to new Royal port. Shuttle or rideshare.

That retro fridge looks really cool
I was JUST looking at cruises from Galveston last night!! This hotel looks amazing.
Beautiful view
love this hotel!! great choice
We stayed there for our Jubilee cruise. Got it comp'd with our Hilton points!!!!
Welcome back to TX, y'all! I hope you have a great cruise.
That DoubleTree is too pricey for me, but looks nice.

I’m headed to Galveston later next week! I wish I would have seen this before I booked my hotel. I would have stayed here.
Nice! DoubleTree should pay y’all for the review!
❤ Wire Hangersssss😂😂... I absolutely loved Tremont hotel. ❤ it is across the street from the Port. We walked to the restaurants live music all around good vibes.
Stayed there before a cruise on the Magic years ago. We also rode the Duck that you could load right across the street.

We stayed there before and also at the LaQuinta; both nice choices.
We made reservations for the Tremont Hotel for our NCL Prima cruise in March!
Stayed there in the past, love the balcony. Millers is a great restaurant btw
