One issue with reviews is that people don't compare apples to apples. When evaluating a cruise, the price you pay for it should count for a lot. We just got back from our first ever cruise on MSC Seashore for a 4 nighter. While on the cruise, we talked to a couple that had only been on RC cruises prior to being on the MSC cruise. They complained that things were better (the food, the shows) on the RC cruise but didn't even mention once about how a RC cruise is more expensive than a MSC cruise. When we were shopping for our cruise and comparing prices, I found RC cruises to be DOUBLE the price of a similar MSC cruise. Obviously, if you are paying double you should be getting more. This would be like buying a basic car and then complaining that it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that a luxury car has. MSC is a good value FOR THE PRICE.
More than double most times. The same cruise from RC was 1100 a person for an inside cabin. We paid 550 a person (which included the drinks plus package, 399 a person if we opted for no drinks) on MSC and they upgraded us from inside to deluxe balcony.
MSC offers great value and their private island is not to be missed. Really liked hearing Jenny's perspective mixed with yours, her being the travel agent and wife bringing the shared couple experience rather than solo cruiser!
We’ve sailed the Seashore in January and loved it. Booked 2 additional cruises on the Seashore. I think you need to take a longer cruise on this ship to really experience it. Just a wonderful experience.
Love msc! Ocean Cay is a designated marine reserve island reconstructed from abandoned sand mining facility. If you are an avid environmentalist you will love the sealife that calls this island its home. Large turtle that digs under seafence at lighthouse to find security and safety will swim right beneath you. Flounder, stingrays, parrotfish, baby barracuda, live conch to name a few. These critters hang out in all the rocks. Snorkel all day long in calm lagoon water to see them. Thanks for the review, thanks Jenny for the ladies view. You bring a lot to the discussion and I like seeing you on the lido team.
Such a good point about the sheet on the bed, never crosses my mind that anybody would want anything more than the duvet but you made me realise. We just have a duvet/quilt 😀❤️
Ha! I had to teach my Texan hubby what a duvet was, and then convince him that the cover means you really don't need an additional top sheet as well. Mind you, it's a bit of a PITA changing a duvet cover so ... In hotels & on cruise ships there's no guarantee the duvet cover gets changed after every guest departs - I think I'm OK with having that pesky extra top sheet... :D Love your channel, Emma!
I use a sheet with my duvet so I don’t have to wash the duvet every week. No way in hell am I putting that nightmare on every week! Plus, if I get too hot, I can kick the duvet off and just use the sheet (I don’t like sleeping uncovered unless I have to).
(Hi Emma!) I need a top sheet, duvet cover or no. I feel cold if I kick the duvet off and don't have a sheet. It's such a small light thing, but the sheet seems to trap some of my body heat. Swapping a duvet cover is a real pain, which is the other reason I use a top sheet. Wash the top sheet often, wash the duvet cover occasionally. (At least, that's how I do it.)
Long time cruiser, mostly Celebrity, but branched out to MSC Seashore and Seaside and will try Divinia in March. Beautiful ships, expected so- so food but was pleasantly surprised. Balcony room was comparable to other ships Great value for the cost!
You had a slightly different experience than we did on our December 2023 MSC Seashore cruise. Having a had less than stellar experience on first MSC cruise on Seaside about 8 months earlier I knew how to plan the cruise on Seashore. Booked Aurea instead of Fantastica, got the multi-specialty restaurant experience and skipped the main dining room all together. We are Diamond level thanks to MSC matching our Hilton loyalty level so more perks with that. Boarding was one of the easiest ever on any cruise we have done. Our balcony cabin had a hot tub and the bathroom had a tub. I admit the bathroom was still on the small side. Walk in closet big enough for my wife to change clothes in! I didn't think the entertainment was all that great but fine for an evening. Fun time at the bar at the aft infinity pool! We got great service the entire cruise! I learned to tip cash (just couple of dollars) to many of them at various bars/restaurants and they gave me a VIP. The Dis embarkment was excellent! The fitness center was great to enjoy a morning workout but taking the stairs up and down from deck 15 to deck 8 was the real workout!
This has got to be the first reasonable & objective review of MSC i’ve ever seen from an American perspective, thank you! 🙏 It pinpoints what alot of other cruisers seems to have problems realising = MSC is a European cruiseline for Europeans.. they won’t honeydarling you as that is not customary in Europe. MSC is a different experience and it’s supposed to be! In terms of Value for money i’d say MSC is unbeatable when you take into account how beautiful their ships are & Ocean Cay!
Last January we were in the Yacht Club aboard the Meraviglia and absolutely loved it, aside from disembarkation. Even Yacht Club had to go hunting through the thousands of suitcases to find our luggage after getting off the ship. Even so, we board the MSC Seascape in 22 days for our next cruise. Again, in Yacht Club. Once you get a taste of Yacht Club it's SO hard to imagine otherwise.
We’ve done two cruises on the MSC Divina years ago and we truly enjoyed them both. They’re definitely different than the big box cruise lines, but not bad at all. We booked a grand suite for a 7 day early next year on the Seaside for an amazing price. Looking forward to getting back on MSC. Oh, don’t forget MSC matches your loyalty levels from other cruise lines. Happy cruising!!
Good observation on the service...some people want the waiters and cabin staff to be their new best friends...frankly I like the type of service that you get in Europe and it sounds like MSC operates that way.
Jenny you look absolutely gorgeous. Love the color of the top and the makeup. Tony is a lucky man. I am a great grandmother and I love you and Tony. Very entertaining and love Tony's sense of humor. Thank you both for all your hard work.
Wow I am happy with MSC that is getting a lot of love from people, I remember everybody talking bad about the company but now it is getting more popular, good 👍 for MSC
We got on the January 21st sailing. We like the pricing of MSC. You just have to know what you are going into . Embarkation went smooth. Dining room food and service was bad. The way they do dining times is awful. Everyone squeezed in a small area, before the doors open. We switched dining rooms and service was better. We ended up at the buffet half the nights. Muster drill is okay, if you can do steps. Disembarking....having to be out of your room at 7am. By the time we reached the buffet, there was absolutely no tables open. We ended going up a floor. Then at 10, they only have 2 floors open to wait. We didn't get called till 10:30.
Solid review. I agree MSC is for everybody. I just returned from my 2nd MSC cruise yesterday and did the 3 night Nassau and Ocean Cay on the Seashore. Embarkation took 10 minutes, and we dismembered and were in the car driving down the highway within 15 minutes or them starting to let everyone off the ship. We joined the express walk off line at 630am and they started walk offs at 7am. Go with an open mind and you will be okay. We also had the anytime dining as Aurea guests and had no trouble getting in the dining room each night. We did find inconsistencies in timing for dining rooms, venues etc, but hey, we were on vacation. There was always something to eat and while the selection may not be large it was plentiful and very good in most cases. Best pizza at Sea with Princess and Virgin Voyages coming in hot as close seconds. As a travel agent I enjoyed it and would recommend it to my customers. I always try to get them to manage their expectations, depending on budget and the experience they are wanting/willing/able to afford.
I feel your MSC review was one of the better ones. You get an awful lot of rubbish food and rubbish service type comments / reviews with no balance or substance. Personally I love MSC being a Brit, I find the American service a bit OTT for me. I have always found MSC service right for me, but they don't lie in a puddle for people to walk over 😂 I also really enjoy the food.. I am not into burgers etc.. I love the Mediterranean style... The ships are busy. But I can deal with that... Great review and love to see you both together.
I’m Canadian and just went on msc and we really liked it. I wish the young club for kids 12-14 was open for more hours. That was the only thing I’d improve. My daughter said the pasta with oil and garlic wasn’t as good as mine and the chef should get my recipe. 😂 she didn’t like the amount of pepper in it. I honestly would cruise on this line again and again. The price is certainly right and I honestly hate it when service people stand over me.
We just got back from sailing on the MSC Divina. We really enjoyed most of the cruise. We only disliked a couple of things, smoking...we are not smokers and I have an allergy to it, so we avoided the casino. The muster drill was not fun. Embarkation went super smooth, Debarkation was quick (we took all our things with us). The main dining room food was hands down better than Carnival Mardi Gras' main dining room. We had great service the entire 7 night cruise. The shows were all fantastic, great performances. Butcher Block and Galaxy specialty dining were very good. We will defiantly book another MSC cruise, we will try a bigger ship next, maybe the smoking issue will be not so much on a larger ship.
Back in May 2022, the MSC Seashore was my first cruise ever (7 day cruise). I had a great experience overall and I would cruise on it again for sure. I'll be taking my second cruise on the Carnival Celebration at the end of March this year, so it will be interesting to see the differences in the vibe between the two cruise lines.
You mentioned “the bathroom was small” but I would have added that the toilet having that board at your left knee, would not allow you to sit straight (at 12 o’clock) … you had to sit at 2 o’clock (see 3:18 min.)
Great video - we are just off the Seashore for 7-days, with many of the same challenges and obs. We'd sail Seaside again, but not Seashore - just too many people and not enough public space for us. We became huge fans of your channel pre-COVID with your daily vlogs. They're a lot of work to film and edit (as we live and learn ourselves), but that content was king during your first-ever cruises! The banter of Tony and Jenny on a daily vlog is priceless and was so engaging.
Hey, Toney. First, I want to say I really enjoy your videos and all the cruise news. I also want to tell you about our experience on MSC Seashore. We sailed the week before Christmas on a 5 day sailing. The night before our embarkation day, there was a bad storm that hit Central FL and the waters around. Because of this store, the ship was delayed until 3 pm. We understand that no one can control the weather and delays happen when cruising. They way the MSc handled the situation was awful. We ended up missing a whole day of sailing. We waited in the parking lot for 3 hours and didn't get on until 10 pm when we were supposed to board at 6. Also, because of the delay, we were late to Ocean Cay, and there was no food on the island. There were also a lot of other disappointments that happened. The biggest one was that my dad and step mother's couldn't dine with us because we had the drink package and we didn't. They can't drink due to medical reasons. This was a huge disappointment. There needs to be more consideration for those who can't drink and their families. We won't be sailing on MSC any time soon until they fix some of their issues. I guess you get what you pay for. 😢
MSC is wonderful, it's one of my favorite lines. I've been on several msc ships, it feels more international than other cruise lines. Ocean cay is beautiful.
We did that short cruise twice--once when the Meraviglia was still in Port Canaveral and once on Seaside. Perfect cruise to take along family/friends who have never cruised and want to try it. Ocean Cay is always a highlight for us. Been there on several longer MSC cruises as well. We do like the Meraviglia class ships better than the Seaside class. Just like the layout a lot more. The Divina, which we took on a Transatlantic, is lovely, but still would choose Meraviglia class when an option.
My wife and I have about 25 cruises under our belts (starting to lose count, lol) on lines that include Carnival, Princess, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, and MSC. We have sailed MSC four times (Seaside, Seascape, and twice on the Meravigila) and noticed something: our 14 and 7 day cruises had the staff treat us very well and service was quick, but our first-ever 3-day on the Meraviglia was night and day lousy. First time on the "M" (7 day) was dandy, but that 3-day had us standing in line for 45 minutes to get drinks. We surmised that the issue was both lack of staffing and the overall party-attitude of the quick-sailors, which often cause the wait-staff to not even make eye contact. We have an 8-day coming up in May on the Carnival Panorama and really looking forward to it. BTW: MSC has a rewards-match program, so if you are Platinum or whatever on another line, they will bring you to the same level, which includes discounts and other perks.
Omg we’ve done lots of cruises. Seashore when was brand new and we love it. The food was great. The rooms are nice. The hot tubs on the side of the ship and the crew was great. The slides with the vr sets are amazing
I took a 21 day repositioning cruise on the MSC Musica from Genoa to Buenos Aires in November- December. I had a fantastic time. I was in an interior cabin that was small but comfortable. Service was outstanding. Crew were all friendly. Got to take the behind the scenes tour, including the bridge and engine room. Highly recommend it. Plan on going on MSC again.
I went on MSC Meraviglia last January. We were very pleased with our balcony room. We had the spa package and it was fabulous. Main dining was good, steakhouse was incredible. This line is underrated but you must remember this is not an American cruise line. Great prices!
Yes. We love MSC and this ship. MSC gives a lot at a great price. The muster drill and embarkation is easier and faster if you can hit the earliest wave. Debarking is always a long line when trying to leave early. But it’s always well organized and once it starts moving it’s fast! Walking and taking stairs always make things easier on this ship. We like that aspect. But, We know it can be hard on those with mobility issues. Support is there but you’ve got to actively ask. They are very helpful when we have our MIL with us!
Hey guys..We LOVE your content and really appreciate all your hard work. I'm a TA and agree with you on everything you mentioned in the video. We've also done the two night cruise MSC Seashore (Jan. 5th 2024) cruise. Our room- 9015, a deluxe balcony stateroom, also did NOT have washcloths or a top sheet as you mentioned. Honestly, - thought that was SO strange- honestly, it threw me (a typical southern girl) for a loop. Our next MSC cruise leaves Sun. Feb. 11th. on a four nighter, however we will be in Yacht Club this time, but I'll bring my own washcloths. We also have a 10 night Celebrity Infinity through Greece March 15, 2024 - and another cruise (group) on MSC Preziosa scheduled in November out of Southampton. I'll keep you updated on our findings. Again, thanks so much for the cruise news and all your hard work. Stay happy.
I just got off the Seashore yesterday 1/18 and our experience was very good. This was my 2nd time on MSC. Sailed the Seascape in 2023 which seems to be identical to the Seashore. Food wasn't bad, I look at it as I didn't pay a 5 star price, so I shouldn't expect 5 star dining. Cabin was small but adequate. The balcony was fantastic. I felt they seemed to be understaffed to be able to give the quality of service you expect. The staff they had were friendly and were doing the best they could.
Great review!! It was wonderful meeting Jenny on this cruise. Hopefully we won't miss Tony next time. This was my fourth MSC cruise. I had the best cabin steward ever this time named Jeffrey!!
We love MSC Yacht Club. You get a personal butler, private pool. Better food than Coastal Kitchen on RCCL for a fraction of cost of Grand Suite or Owner's Suite on RCCL. Their private Island is environmental friendly. Ship stays late & does an elaborate light show at the Lighthouse. We're planning our 2nd MSC even though we're Diamond plus with Royal
I like MSC. I liked the food, it was tasty, maybe not fancy but we could always find something great. The best service we had was on the Magnifica. We also sailed the Meraviglia but it was on its second sailing only and the service wasn't great, but beautiful ship!
Loved your review of a shorter cruise on the Seashore! We just got off Seashore on1/28 from a 7-nighter and had a great time as usual. We've always opted for the Yacht Club experience; this was our 5th venture in YC. We were overwhelmed on our first MSC cruise onboard the Meraviglia when she was homeported in Port Canaveral, and we have since done all except one on CCL. Going again in March! MSC has become our go-to in favor of the wilder CCL options. We're not getting any younger and are well into our 7th decade so the slightly more relaxed MSC fits us well. Thanks again for another terrific review.
I appreciate that you made the thorough review. I'm going to make the observation that, if you watched this video again in a month, you would see that this review is a classic example of "damning with faint praise".
I just finished a back to back on the Seashore (1/14-1/21). I sailed over a dozen Carnival cruises, several NCL and 1 RCL. This was my first MSC sailing and these are my thoughts on topics you touched on. I don't normally eat at the buffet yet the food was definitely warmer than the MDR food which actually was pretty poor in temperature and taste. The embarkation process was less than an hour which I felt was a plus. We arrived around noon. I expected it to be terrible. The muster process wasn't too bad. I was very surprised they sailed away without all passengers completing it. They had them do it the next day which I found a bit weird. My balcony (1st leg) and interior (2nd leg) were spotless and our cabin stewards (especially Agus) were wonderful. We did have washcloths on the second leg and we realized the top sheets were not necessary. We may just consider the same when we go back home since our duvet cover is washed often anyway. We saw the magician/ illusionist as well-he was a lot of fun. The other shows were about as good if not better than Carnival. There were plenty of musicians throughout the ship, especially in the Atrium which had a great bar but they need to add more seating. We did not partake in games inside but enjoyed watching. the men/vs women show each sailing. Its as great walking through the casino without the smoke, always an issue on other cruise ships. Never saw anyone in the "smoking box". I don't care for the slot machines in the sports bar-it took up way too much space and more space was needed there especially since there were so many NFL games going on and people had to sit at the slot machines (but didn't play). I agree with you as far as the staff not going out of their way to provide great service but at least they were genuine. The "honey-darlin" is too fake imo. Disembarkation wasn't too bad but we waited until closer to the end since we did not have a plane to catch. We are in your neck of the woods for the next week or so, therefore no rushing for us needed. I would def do the short cruise like you did if I lived near a port. I actually would have taken the one you took if it was available. The ONLY issue I had with Ocean Cay is the shuttle drivers. That is an accident waiting to happen. There were too many close calls between shuttles and pedestrians. It seemed like the drivers purposely went lose to pedestrians to scare them. Thanks for the video!
I’ve been on 34 cruises, four of which were MSC (Divina twice, Seaside and Meraviglia). We enjoyed our MSC cruises as much as all the rest. We have two more MSC cruises booked (Seashore and Musica), both in 2025. We’ll do a short Silhouette cruise in March of this year and experience Princess for the first time this September to Alaska.
I gave been on the MSC Meraviglia and the Seascape I preferred the layout of the Meraviglia. I enjoyed both ships. The food was good and loved the entertainment.
I've enjoyed 2 cruises on MSC to "try them out" and had a good experience. I have rebooked for this October's cruise to Bermuda as MSC is offering 4 days at the island. This is a full 1 to 2 days longer than the competition.
Did the Seashore in Dec 2023.. we splurged and got Yacht Club.. Absolutely loved it! In March 2023 did regular on the Mergavaila.. Had a great time as well.. For the money it’s awesome!
Hi Tony and Jenny… Glad you enjoyed your MSC cruise… we enjoyed the video ... thank you!!! we got off the MSC seashore on January 18… We did a back to back… The first leg of our cruise was in the Yacht Club which we enjoyed so very much… The next leg was a four night cruise in the main area… we enjoyed that as well… Totally different experiences but fun in their own way… We chose not to in the main dining room during our four night cruise and chose to eat in the specialty dining every night which was a first for us and enjoyable as well… our next MSC seashore cruise will be in September 2024… Will be doing a side side on that cruise… First leg will be on the carnival Mardi Gras then the next week we will be in the Yacht Club on the seashore… Looking forward to both experiences🚢
Like the honest critique, enjoyed seeing your wife join you in the video. I see quite a few of your videos, but don’t recall one that she joined you in. Nice to see a lovely, happy couple! :)
I would like to promote Cruising sucks to keep prices down, but I really cannot. I hate that MSC is booked up to have as an option for my March Birthday cruise. MSC has been the best included Wifi and Drink package option. 2 days at MSC Ocean Key, overnight at a great port is, well just great. I saw HAL having a over night at Cozumel, great I hope more do this. MSC has less complimentary food options, I still get my fill on good food . When the price beats NCL.,RCL & Carnival it is totally worth it.
Lovely meeting y’all on this MSC cruise. We did this same 2 day cruise last year and this year. Better than last year, since embarkation took only like 40 minutes vs last years 4 hours, and the magician on night one was awesome. However, we definitely don’t recommend this cruise. There were too many kids and the pool/hot tub areas were full of children not going to the toilet…and we left the room for the disembarkation at 7:30 like the paper said since our assigned time with luggage assist was at 10:20am 😱, walked down the steps and got in line at 7:35 and got off the ship at 9:10. And service was horrible. Too many people using the drink package so grabbing a drink took 15 minutes each time. 20 while sat in the MDR. Oh well. It was only $200 total (we bought in Oct 22), so a good price on a weekend getaway, but our last time on MSC until the 3yr deadline to maintain our status.
Tony we were on the Seashore and had to ask for top sheet and face cloth. The top sheet arrived the third night in a plastic bag on our bed. We had to remake the bed. But, I did enjoy the cruise.
We were on the Seashore for their first cruise from Port Canaveral in November and loved it. Debarkation was a nightmare, but that was mainly because guests would not follow directions and queue the way they were told. Other than that we loved it and are going again in March/April. If we lived as close as you guys, we'd do weekend cruises all the time.
Thank you for your review! I'm going solo on the Seashore soon and I've been worried about the negative comments I've seen. I'll just have to decide for myself.
Looking good you two. I'm looking forward to my going on MSC for the first time next April. I'm trying them instead of Carnival. Don't tell Carnival. 😊
Thanks for sharing Tony, we are doing our first MSC cruise later this year, two weeks in Europe. We are excited to give it a try. I think it's going to work well for us. We are going to new ports and honestly I always tell people when you go on a cruise with an open mind and willingness to embrace new things you should have a good time. I don't think I have ever been on a cruise and regretted it. They are all fun in different ways. I enjoyed this type of video. Great to see your better half in a video. ❤
We liked your video of MSC . We always do set time dinning to avoid lines. My favorite cruise line. Always look forward to your veiws of cruises , Nice to see Jenny joining your video
I cruised with them pre pandemic and post pandemic. Night and day difference. The customer service is soo bad now. We had issues with our booking that weren’t resolved until the day prior to boarding….mainly because no one would help. It took talking to a supervisor of a supervisor of a supervisor to get things straightened out. Onboard the issues continued, the sailing was extremely short staffed, and where this was most concerning was with security. Our deck had security issues and security was no where to be found. Our cabin neighbors called for security multiple times with no response. We called 3 times and were told security was on the way, on the 4th call we were told to call housekeeping to get the hotel manager to handle it (by this time someone could have been seriously injured due to the fighting going on). It was a mess. We decided we are done cruising MSC sadly and our cruises are free (casino comps). My husband said he would rather pay full fare on any other line than sail MSC ever again. The biggest reason is we did not feel safe sailing with them. MSC Divina was my very first cruise so they have a soft spot in my heart, but this last sailing was just so bad.
Went on the MSC Seashore 5/2022 for a 7 day cruise to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cozmel and their private island Ocen Cay had a great time enjoyed the ship. Also was on the sister ship the Seaside 5/2019 and did the eastern 7 day cruise enjoyed that one also
We just got home from back-to-back MSC Seashore cruises. The first one was a 4-day cruise with an overnight stop in Ocean Cay and a stop in Nassau. We had a balcony room, and we hated the small bathroom especially the placement of the toilet and the coffin sized shower. We had an "early dining" which was at 7:15 pm. Our waiters could not understand what an "iced tea" was. They brought an iced tea martini, even after we said it wasn't a martini. Our room steward had to be asked daily for wash towels. On the second cruise, a 3-day to Ocean Cay and Nassau, we moved cabins to the aft starboard side. Unfortunately, it was directly above the smoking area so we couldn't enjoy the balcony as much as we'd like. We got the 5:00 pm early dining and our waiters were excellent. We also loved the sports bar and got to know a few of the bartenders. Since we did a back-to-back, we stayed on the ship until 10 am and then they walked our group (about 90) down to immigration and we went through the scanners and back on the ship. It was a very easy process. Disembarkation on the last morning was crazy. I think we walked about a mile in a line trying to get off the ship. I don't think we will be back on an MSC but overall, I think the food was ok and the bar staff was great.
My only experience on MSC was aboard the Armonia, a smallish ship (60,000-ton class) that was used to go from Miami to Cuba when travel between the USA and that island was permitted. There were some similarities, excluding things that come along with scale. There wasn't much in the way of kids' amenities. There wasn't much in the way of top-deck stuff to do--no rock climbing, surfing or roller coaster. There weren't a lot of crowds. There were announcements made in five languages. The cabins were a bit smaller than what we're used to. There was no private island to visit at that time. The entertainment was fantastic, a stage show of a musical takeoff on the Addams Family was noteworthy. The food was hit and miss. The MDR had their good stuff and not so good. They were willing to substitute things I didn't with things that I would like more. The buffet was more miss than hit. The carving station was a disappointment with the good stuff gone by the time I got there, and I'm not a fan of turkey. The salads were mostly good with some excellent cold cuts--mortadella is a favorite. Their baked things are good. Their pizza is excellent and so is the gelato. I liked the coffee bar the best with good pastries and cappuccino. My favorite place to hang out was the Cigar Lounge (now a former cigar smoker). In my four-day trip I walked by the pool a few times but never went in. I really appreciated the international crowd, making friends from Brazil, England, Germany and Tennessee. MSC is definitely NOT for everyone born in the USA. If you want a cheap getaway, reduce your expectations and go. You'll really enjoy it.
My first cruise was on MSC Divina in 2014 (actually, I took two cruises 5 months apart on the same ship) and their buffet selection was better on both of those cruises than any of the cruises I've taken since. It had a huge international variety, and we had an antipasti section that my husband and I loved. Everything was fresh on both those cruises - plenty of Indian and African cuisines, too. (I grew up in a restaurant family and am extremely picky about food quality, take that for whatever it's worth.) On the Divina, we liked the sports bar very much. They had a drink of the day that usually appealed (between the 10 nights over 2 cruises, I think we only skipped one drink of the day). The bar apps were fantastic - I craved their wings and onion rings because they were fresh made and extremely crispy. The Divina's Sports Bar had a bowling alley. I would honestly go back onto an MSC ship just for the gelato. Wow, non-smoking casino? I might actually go into it on the seashore! Both times, we took our time getting out of the room and our room steward was find with that. Maybe that's because I use a mobility scooter.
We recently sailed on the MSC Magnifica out of Miami; a short 3-night weekend cruise to Nassau (Bahamas). We sailed on the MSC Poetia twice 10 years ago and it was a nice ship but not a typical experience as we were part of a special plant-based food program. We wouldn’t normally go on a weekend cruise on any cruise line, but we did this one to see if we would be comfortable on this ship for an extended (world) cruise. We decided that we would not be, and canceled the world cruise booking. Overall the ship/crew/food/etc. were okay and our room was okay EXCEPT for the incredibly uncomfortable 2-person sleeper-sofa. It was unusable, and there was nowhere else to sit in the room. The lawn furniture on the small balcony was not a substitute for comfortable chairs in the room. I know that MSC tries to position themselves at a slightly lower price point in the market, but the lack of comfortable seating in our cabin was a deal-breaker for a long cruise.
I sailed, MSC, on the Magnifica out of Miami. It was a great cruise, food wasn’t bad at all, and Ocean Cay is a beautiful island. I have no idea how anyone could badmouth them. Unless you’re very large and you find the bathroom small.
My family and I booked a sailing for November a few days before your first video about the MSC Seashore. Excited but nervous about the differences between this brand and RCL. Thanks for the feedback about this ship!
We did a Seaview 7 day Mediterranean this summer and loved it. You can’t beat the price. Based on some previous reviews we did adjust our expectations but still felt they surpassed them. Ship was beautiful. Great job Margo!
Totally fine with MSC. Recently did a Thanksgiving weekend cruise on the Meraviglia and we had a great time! Food on the buffet was good - MDR first night was sub-par. Accommodations were comfortable enough. Kids had a blast and didn’t want to get off the ship. Will def cruise with them again and bless them for offering more options to relieve some of the demand pressure on pricing. Cruising would be even more expensive without them here in Florida!
So I just saw a vlog where they gave a hack for the muster drill. Watch the video, make the call and then head down to the muster station 10 min early. Then when they make the muster call, you’re first and then you’re out! I’ve never cruised MSC, I’d like to try it because the prices are good but I don’t know if I ever want to risk it
Thanks for your information on the muster process and the lifts being taken out of service. As a wheelchair user who is going on Virtuosa in May, I'll make sure to check with the concierge at Yacht Club what they expect me to do.
Great review! We did a 7 day cruise on the Seashore in 2022 and had a great time! I definitely agree with you on the disembarkation not being the best though.
Love MSC cruises out of Southampton. The staff are really friendly, rarely have a delay getting a drink but since I often travel solo, I often sit at the bar. Food in the MDR has improved. Always a nice selection, as long as you know it's more of a Mediterranean style, but you'll never go hungry.
I was on the ship like a week after you..sadness..first MSC cruise for me, a lot of people so so service in some bars other bars were amazing dining room staff loved us even had a conga line one night! I’ve booked 2 more already 1 for world America next year
We did do a MEGA guided ship tour of the MSC Seashore, check that out next - th-cam.com/video/Fr0g2I8Q02M/w-d-xo.htmlsi=2GTUEYPVlRs2_ZKw
Hi Emma! Love you too! Rock on! 😎😎😎
Love your channel, Emma!
I use a sheet with my duvet so I don’t have to wash the duvet every week. No way in hell am I putting that nightmare on every week!
Plus, if I get too hot, I can kick the duvet off and just use the sheet (I don’t like sleeping uncovered unless I have to).
@@GunnerHillTX They wouldn't dare not change a duvet cover, it is the sheet.
(Hi Emma!)
I need a top sheet, duvet cover or no.
It pinpoints what alot of other cruisers seems to have problems realising = MSC is a European cruiseline for Europeans.. they won’t honeydarling you as that is not customary in Europe. MSC is a different experience and it’s supposed to be!
In terms of Value for money i’d say MSC is unbeatable when you take into account how beautiful their ships are & Ocean Cay!
I love Jenny’s thoughtful critique. She chooses her words well. She doesn’t just talk, she says something.
Doing the Yacht club in the fall, looking forward to it. Yes, I'm afraid I'll be spoiled.
Love the YC
We have an MSC trip planned in 2025 in a yacht club suite..... can't wait
Shame about the MDR but not that surprised on such a short cruise, usually it’s fixed early or late dining 🤔
Good observation on the service...some people want the waiters and cabin staff to be their new best friends...frankly I like the type of service that you get in Europe and it sounds like MSC operates that way.
If you like that “European” service you will love MSC so friendly but out of the way when you don’t need them
Jenny you look absolutely gorgeous.
I find it peculiar that we are hearing these better ratings on you tube... but the ratings online remain bad and continue to pile up. 🤔
We loved MSC. We did a Christmas Market cruise in 22 with them. Beautiful ship!!!
I feel your MSC review was one of the better ones. You get an awful lot of rubbish food and rubbish service type comments / reviews with no balance or substance.
Personally I love MSC being a Brit, I find the American service a bit OTT for me. I have always found MSC service right for me, but they don't lie in a puddle for people to walk over 😂
I also really enjoy the food..
One of my favorite breakfast things ever from a cruise buffet was the Banana Puree from NCL, so glad to see it on MSC also 5:46
I'm excited about MSC coming to Galveston. Definitely gonna give them a try then.
Aboard the Seashore as we speak. 3rd cruise on this ship in 3 months… Amazing crew!
We haven't used top sheets since the early 90's when we first started going to Europe a couple times a year.
This is good info
We took a 4 day on the Seashore in 2023 - next time try the Yacht Club - the ship within the ship - excellent service
I was on the same sailing.. had an amazing time! Only complaint was the elevators… the whole entire elevator system is terrible 😣
Loved MSC Mera out of Brooklyn and Seaside out PC, really excited to try Seashore out of PC in June!
I gave been on the MSC Meraviglia and the Seascape I preferred the layout of the Meraviglia. I enjoyed both ships. The food was good and loved the entertainment.
I was on the Seascape out of Miami and it was AMAZING! The entire experience was great.
Yes I like this kind of reviews that covers many areas and the 2 people in put thxs
We stayed in cabin 11089. My husband thought the Market Place was too crowded. Our main dining room was 5th Avenue. We loved the infinity hot tub.
Yes I live in Miami and try and go on any cruise that close to home. I’m going in the MSC FEB 15, hoping I have a good experience
I was just looking at sailings for this ship... so glad to have yalls view
Awww. Good to see the beautiful Miss Jenny! Glad you guys had a good time!
So glad to see your review of MSC. I love the idea of a quick weekend getaway. I am loyal to CCL, but would definitely try this for a weekend.
We were on in November same thing for disembarkation, but there was an emergency by the luggage hall which held up a Hugh line of people.
Thank you for your review! I'm going solo on the Seashore soon and I've been worried about the negative comments I've seen. I'll just have to decide for myself.
YAY! More Jenny and Tony together!
Good couples presentation video. Thanks
I love love love MSC , nice ships, food, crew, I am very happy with MSC, been cruising many , many times. Love from Denmark
We are looking at the MSC Seashore for a four day cruise, your comments have helped us greatly keep up the great work 😀
I'll be on the Seashore in April for a week. Your review was helpful in confirming this 1st MSC voyage. Thanks
So happy to see Jenny. Thank you for the review.
Booked for the Seashore in Oct. Thank you for the review.
(I grew up in a restaurant family and am extremely picky about food quality, take that for whatever it's worth.)
On the Divina, we liked the sports bar very much.
We really enjoyed our time on MSC, thanks for these type of videos I think they’re awesome
Nice to see Jenny on a video! Thank you for this review!
I sailed, MSC, on the Magnifica out of Miami. It was a great cruise, food wasn’t bad at all, and Ocean Cay is a beautiful island. I have no idea how anyone could badmouth them. Unless you’re very large and you find the bathroom small.
Hey Tony & Jenny
Great show. It was awesome to see Jenny with you, Tony. We hope Jenny can pop in with you more often. Thanks for all you do..
Cheers
Thank you Tony and Jenny for the helpful insights on MSC Seashore.
Sounds like a worthwhile, short and sweet, cruise experience.
I think if you lived close it totally makes sense. living a flight away, I need my 7+ days
My family and I booked a sailing for November a few days before your first video about the MSC Seashore. Excited but nervous about the differences between this brand and RCL. Thanks for the feedback about this ship!
My hubby and I are going MSC 1on Feb 15 to the 18 for our anniversary short cheap little get away thanks for all the feed back on what to expect
Yay! Love seeing Jenny with you to talk about y’all’s experience! I have been skeptical about MSC so I’m glad to hear y’all’s side 😊
We loved our cruise last summer on the Seaside!!
We’ve cruised MSC twice in the Yacht Club. Love the experience and the same cost as a standard balcony on the other lines.
Did I actually see hockey on the TV in the sports bar? We've not had any luck with finding hockey games on cruises on Carnival or Princess.
Wow, a throwback vintage Felix Potvin #29 Maple Leafs jersey hanging in the Sports Bar. Wasn't expecting to see that.
We like MSC. It is a very good value and the ships are beautiful.
