Same here. I could be wrong but I think I recall a video where Luke explained that crabs can detach their claws to try to escape a predator. Then they grow back. I wonder if that crab felt like " Oh sh*t this giant is going to kill. Activate claw detachment mode, then run😅" or if it was because he was so soft from literally just molting that the claws fell off from the body weight of picking up the crab. 🦀
Always fun watching you chef it up. Your excitement rubs off on those near you and still reaches me through the screen. It would be a great time hanging out with you. I used to watch you on Bon appetite and you never made a video I wouldn't watch. Glad to see you thriving on your own along with your crew. Hope to see a tons more from you. Good vibes Brad
As a Chesapeake native the most Maryland thing about this is the fly on the bread cooked in a rigged up kitchen on the water. Maryland has this wierd mix of south and north that only people in maryland understand. Most people see Baltimore and think its the whole state, the eastern shore (the right side of MD) is like 90% farm.
I've been binging Luke's channel since seeing the Local Legends video, what a standup guy. Highly recommend. Shout out to Brad for being a great creator and for putting us onto some other great creators!
Brad, I have such a weird and insane phobia of crabs, lobsters etc but let it be known, this ep and last local legends ep - I will watch for you. And purely bc the one BA vid of you crabbing for those giant atlantic fucker king crabs or whatever they are is my comfort video as it may be you at your funniest. I will let myself get nightmares of crustaceans for you, always bud!
Gordon Ramsey says “taste the food”. As a 20 + year kitchen troll, if that bothers you, then don’t eat out. Rule of thumb is if you wouldn’t eat in their rest room, their kitchen probably isn’t any cleaner. Have a nice day.
I think this is the most similar to my style food I I've seen you make. I love simple dishes made with a few really good ingredients so each thing really stands out, this looked great.
Had my first soft shell crab sandwich in 1985. We were on a family vacation, inner harbor Baltimore. All these years later and it is still one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.
Long time fan of yours since early Bon Appetit days and a Pasadena, MD native so this is the duo I'm so here for! This looks like the best soft shell sandwich ever. Can't wait to try the peppers in the mayo next time I make one. 🤌🏼 Glad you came down to see what's up in good ol' MD. Stay awesome. 🤙🏼 But... #JOforever 🤪
Great content. I'm so happy for you Brad Leone. I used to watch you on BA during the pandemic. I always enjoyed your creativity and personality. Cheers from California.
Brad, my man’s! I love this and I love your cooking, I’ve been watching your shows for a few years now. You always seem to love making your mayonnaise tangy; why not just grab some Dukes and get a headstart on it! Sammich is killer no matter what, I’m a huge fan.
Keep your videos coming. You are awesome. I feel like I'm a part of the family. Keep those relationships. I live in Pensacola and I live on the water. I swear I am meant to be a crustacean!
Man, Brad, hearing you say that's your first soft shell of the season made me realize I haven't had one yet! I live right on the Bay in MD there's few things I love more than a soft shell crab sandwich! That looked delicious!
Can I just say I LOVE the editor for this show😭💕 Brad himself already has an awesome energy and vibe to him and the editing just enhances it! Much love from LA! I always look forward to new episodes☺️ Edit: OMG THERE'S A CAT
When Luke said the thing about : if your sandwich doesn't have legs, you're not a crabber. I was hoping for a video like this. I love fried soft shelled crabs.
Always a bad idea to watch one of your videos in the morning, cuz I do intermittent fasting and only eat at night. Now I'm gonna be hungry all day thinking about that sandwich. Thanks Brad.
I love you Brad, you did something I absolutely love and I always do that. I rarely see other people do that. Is salt and pepper on that tomato? That is a must. Good job
Fried spiders are the best! I grew up being told that's what a soft shell crabbed that's been fried was called. The name always stuck in my head. It's kind of funny the things we remember from our childhoods.😊
Hello Brad I enjoyed this video but I wanted to let you know you can eat that whole blue crab face on and dead man fingers in it you don't need to clean it I know it's a personal preference but the soft crab is at its purest and cleanest moment as it is in the molting process. If I fryed you up a blue crab you wouldn't know any difference other than you can see the face on it. Please let your viewers know it's completely safe to eat the blue crab with the dead man fingers in it and the face and Eyeball still attached. My grandmother was born in 1911 and as a young boy my grandmother would cook the whole family soft crabs and we would eat them every summer during the 80s and early 90s and my grandmother is from Maryland just across the river in Prince Frederick MD. But overall you have a great video and you sure do know how to cook God bless you and tell old Captain Luke we said hello.
I did my culinary school internship in '95 at Citrus in Hollywood and they had a soft shell crab dish on the menu. My dad would wait up until I got home around midnight to feast on the leftovers that I'd bring home which usually included soft shell crabs. Good return on investment.
I know we don’t want to talk about the dark times but I just watched a BA video of yours from five years ago. What a night and day difference of Brad just getting to be unapologetically himself.
Luke also sell seasonings- one blend for crabs and one for seafood. They are part of the merch he is selling to help pay to repair his vandalize new boat.
How do Shockyoutubers and Ghosthunters and Shit have more Followers than Brad ( BRead ) I just will never understand, better shot than most TV Shows, Storytelling is A++, Brad is an absolute Sweetheart and so is the Team ( has been ever since we saw him first on Bon Appetit I guess
Brad I got to say I've been watching Bon Appetit for the last 3 years maybe 4 and still to this day you're my favorite person on there you're my kind of guy like if we lived in the same city we would probably be friends But yeah do you keep doing your thing you're killin it bub And I'll keep on watching It'd be nice to meet you one day
When the two arms and claws fell off of the "picture perfect blue crab" I lost it. 🦀
Same here. I could be wrong but I think I recall a video where Luke explained that crabs can detach their claws to try to escape a predator. Then they grow back. I wonder if that crab felt like " Oh sh*t this giant is going to kill. Luke working in the background is the most on-brand thing ever 🤣
"dont ask my wife" lmaooo golden brad moment
You left out what he was hootin about-his softies 😮
I'll never get tired of Brad's half golden retriever half manic energy.
Always fun watching you chef it up.
Your excitement rubs off on those near you and still reaches me through the screen. It would be a great time hanging out with you.

Good vibes Brad
I didn't watch Brad on Bon Appetite, he was Bon Appetite.
Any episode with Brad and Clair together was instant watch. Opposites in many ways, and hysterical together.
The yell as the arms came off had me in tears.

Corn and soybeans baby! With the occasional sorghum 😂
@@josha1536 Don't forget chicken farms and processing plants
I love the guys all eyeing the last piece of sandwich at the end… hahaha
They keep looking at it like “who gets that one?!”
the cut in on the crab being thrown in the water with the deep fried scream -- god i love your editor(s)
I've been binging Luke's channel since seeing the Local Legends video, what a standup guy. Highly recommend. Shout out to Brad for being a great creator and for putting us onto some other great creators!
In a world full of BS, hate and nonsense, ol' Braddy Boi keepin' it real and fun. Thanks bro.

Buddy licked that mayo spreader thing so many times

If Brad was cooking idc how manny times I’ll still down it like it’s my last meal.
"We're just gonna cut his face off" 💀💀
So happy to see you supporting Luke McFadden after hearing his boat was destroyed by vandals. Well done! ❤❤❤
Props to the cameraman, he's hovering over the table TO GET THE SHOT 🤣😘
Glad to see more of this kind of content. Always loved it's alive, Brad always has such a fun and energetic vibe.
Loved this whole crab series! Excellent work Brad and Luke!
I agree. I love Luke!
That fried crab in the pan absolutely looks like a facehugger.
Crabs in general tend to have a Facehugger Vibe :D
in Maryland no one can hear you scream!
I started drooling when you tipped the pan and crisped those legs up!
I think this is the most similar to my style food I I've seen you make. I love simple dishes made with a few really good ingredients so each thing really stands out, this looked great.

Pro-Tip: Make soft-shell BLTs with a little spicy mayo (old bay, sriracha, hot sauce, whatever). Greatest thing you'll ever eat.
Glad you made it out to MD! Stop by Ocean City MD on your next trip.
Back in the early 90's I used to buy them for $1 each! One of the best sandwiches ever.
love softshell crab. so tasty
Love Luke and his content!
MY ALL TIME FAVE FOOD
Legends
Solid.
Brad is like Casey Rocket if he grew up from a jack russell into a golden retriever
With the hazy maze cave theme in the background

2:47 “smoked’em” 😮
The mayo spreader, seems like a good utensil. Not sure about the end there spreading mayo post lick but looks like those sandwiches were top notch!
