For me living in Germany a little bit to fast speaking. I need to slow the speed of his videos down about 25%. Then it is perfect for me. The content of the videos is always great. And his enthusiasm is the best I have seen :)

Here's my first observation after owning this thing for 2 days. I was considering the Air 2 but opted for this mainly for price and size (portability). My motorcycle doesn't hold as much as a car. I have a Spark and that is a beginner drone. It has obstacle avoidance and mine came with propeller guards neither which I have on my mini. First flight in my bedroom started well but I moved away from the windows, probably lost satellite lock and drifted into the wall. Crash. First flight first crash. I don't understand why every youtuber is calling this a beginner drone with no obstacle avoidance. Besides the small size makes it ideal for all types of flyers

i still have my dji phantom 3 advanced and i still love flying it,i know there are better and more advanced drones out there but ive been flying this drone for some years now and i aint had any issues with it so far.from the uk.

My Mavic pro still works fine, my spark is still working and my so do all my other 4 drones, no need to spend money on another at this time, DJI will just make another new one in 6 months

Awesome review. I love my mini 1 and will not be able to update now (low budget), but thay wifi was realy poor for me in Europe. I would have occasions when I can't fly at all even on 5.8ghz as there is so much interference. Ocusync is awesome to have. 2,7k was also a bit too low for me, but wouldn't want to go for air
What do you think is a fair price for the original mavic mini fly more combo with a couple small accessories in perfect condition original carrying case & everything

Great video, love the enthusiasm ! What ND filters can you use, are they the same fitment as the mavic mini ? BTW my mini 2 is incoming, pulled the trigger, will join my spark and original mavic pro, but I can see from this video the mini 2 being my 'goto' drone.
Great Review!! I own the old Evo1 and would love a Mavic Mini2, but being I don't get out there that often. I will probably stick with my Evo1 for now. It does look amazing, and if I was picking my first drone it would be the Mini2. That being said. The advance of technology is always changing, so give it some time and the Mini2 will be a thing of the past. Thank you for all your reviews Rick.
Thanks for actually giving the Mini 1 a fair shake! The mini 2 is incredible, but It’s not really a huge jump in quality from the original. The boost in range and connection stability are a huge improvement, however. Thanks again, Rick!
When the leaks started about this drone, most major reviewers jumped on the band wagon. This showed up who had it already on NDA. I suppose you know you have made it when you get offered one by DJI. Congratulations on that point. The “mini” has been improved. It does get labelled as best beginner drone but really it’s all about budget. I truly believe the Air 2 should get this title with sensors front and back. Great video BTW.

I love your work and would love to do similar things in Australia because there is minimal content down under. It is stated on the CASA website (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) that there are over one million drones around. Another question I want to ask is you seem to using the thumb method and I can’t to get a straight answer of pinch or thumb?
I got the original mini last June. The mini 2 looks to be a lot better but not enough to upgrade from the mini, I’ll wait and move up to the Air 2 when I’m a bit more experienced.
Bruce, thanks for the post but the controller won't hold the iPad mini on it's own but we have a Tablet Extender on our website that fits the controller and will allow you to slide an iPad Mini 4 into it with now issues. Hi there Rick great video. Just wondering if you know where i could get the old version of the dji fly app for my Sony Xperia phone or maybe a link for my mavi mini. Version 1.1.10? Eric, thanks for the post and the Mavic Mini and Mini 2 use a slightly different battery. The Mini 2 cells are a bit larger than the Mavic Mini and won't fit into the quad. The original Mavic Mini cells will fit into the new Mini 2 but have less capacity and a shorter flight time. I'm doing a lot of testing to make sure they are OK to use since the software in the quad monitors the cells and might be calibrated for the larger capacity cells. So far I've been flying OK with them but need to finish the testing to be 100% sure so stay tuned to the channel for updates. Rick

Hey did you know you can use the Mini Batts for the Mini 2? Heard they work with the Mini 2!! Please confirm... I should be getting mine Friday from Amazon... I love how Geeked Up you are when you get new toys lol..
Yes you can, but the Mini batteries take you over the 250 gram limit. Apparently DJI was able to come up with new batteries that weighed less than the old ones.
