3:16 THANK YOU! this helped me in clip studio paint actually. this tecnique works for making seamless patterns in csp! use grids and make the grids 2x2. make sure snap to grid is selected when using select tool on each of the 4 squares. then flip them like in this video :D
Hi Jorge! Yes brick repeat is very similar to half drop.Half drop is also called brick by column in Illustrator as it offsets by the height whereas half brick is called brick by row as it offsets by the width.I hope I’ll be able to post a video on this topic very soon.

Hi I am stuck while I was doing this tutorial in save & load selection 2 is not getting flipped horizontal as well as vertical I selected 2 duplicated layer still Can u please help me by replying Thank you 😊
Hi Archana! I would be happy to help you if you could clarify your question a bit more for me.Send me a screen recording of your problem (record your screen while you’re flipping the canvas so that I can understand where you are facing the problem) to kalabymrunmayee@gmail.com
Hi Jessica! It is completely personal preference. There is nothing “wrong” in using a full drop/grid repeat. It’s just that sometimes a full drop repeat can be very obvious and the repeat is easily detectable. But a half drop repeat flows perfectly and it’s not very easy to detect the repeating edges of the pattern which makes it great for fabrics and other large surfaces.Having said that, it is completely up to you whether you want to use a full drop or a half drop.
Yes once you create the template, you can duplicate the canvas every time you create a new pattern or you can drop the motif onto the template canvas if you have drawn it on a different canvas.
Thanks a lot. You are such a great teacher!

Hi. Thanks a lot for your time and beautiful work. I wonder how it is the template for the brick pattern. It's very similar to half drop, right?

Can you help me understand why you would ever use/need the half drop method.. it seems like the full is faster and does the same job..
