Good for reference. For anyone curious to open one up; one of the black panels on the bottom sit more tightly than the other, it should not be removed. Removing it destroys some plastic "rivets" that are used to attach it. You can do all the other steps while leaving it on. If you do remove it, the laptop can still be fully reassembled though not as firm or tight as before.
Yea i had nothing to do but to open everything up since i spilled water on it and now it doesnt work Today i realized my ram stick is damaged and that is why cpu wont turn on After i turned it on i realized keyboard and track pad doesnt work properly amymore Brought it on 2020 december since then my battery has damaged display hinges broken fan malfunctioning replaced hdd once even brought a duplicate adapter
How to change the fan? Three simple steps: 1. put out aaaalll the parts, including LCD, door, motherboard, keyboard, etc., 2. Now you reach the fan screws, 3. Open them and put it out. 😊 It seems when designing the laptop, they first placed the fan, then put everything around it to secure it from theft. ✌️🔒
I'm considering replacing the fan on mine, as it's starting to make strange noises. Already bought a new replacement part, but the replacement procedure really seems like a nightmare. Almost as if Dell was assuming that the fan would never fail.
