We're the 90s baby's at
92 ❤
And 80’s babies
92💪🏾
Nope I'm 1976😅
Lol 1978😂
Da brat in da illest female rapper 😊
I never get tired of listening to tracks from the 1990s. They remind me of a time when all seemed calm and peaceful. I enjoyed listening to the radio and hearing all of these songs as a kid. Back when there were no smartphones as well as social media. This is a pure classic and Da Brat definitely needs to be given her flowers while she's still here.
I was a teenager in the early 90s and it wasn't calm and peaceful for me.
@@angieang26 sorry to hear that. Life tends to be different for everyone. Hope it's better for you now though.
@@abrahamofili5521 thanks it's better physically but not mentally.
@@angieang26 Don't sweat it too much. Take it one step at a time. You'll get through it. Sending love and light your way.
Definetly wasn't calm or peaceful in the early 90s lol. I guess everyone has a different experience!
I don't know if folks truly understand how important this record is in hip-hop history. Da Brat is a seriously underrated artist. Her debut album ranks pretty high as far as I'm concerned.
💯💯💯
Yea the record was dope! Wouldn't say too important because other artist at the time had good records out as well...yet she did kill it wit them lyrics man
Yeah she went platinum on her first album!
Is it normal to replay it like a bunch 😅😮😊
snoop dogg clone and listen to that lyrics, shes saying nuthin.
How is she more relevant than women at thar time with better skills, lyrics like MCLyte, Yoyo or Latifah? Cause Dabrat got more $ in promotion from label becauae was a safe rap for the families. Becauae that, overrated
For you youngins out there. Da Brat is the first female rap artist to go platinum
Facts just being Dope
Will P thanks
1st female SOLO rap artist to go platinum
Salt n Pepa was the first female act to go Platinum. Maybe if you talking SOLO artist...
Will P Hbu
30 years later and still a HIT!!
Nobody listens to this song! Like at all!
And, yet...Here you are! Go figure.🤔😏@@javiruiz8365
I don’t give a fuck how many times she spells her own name, I wanna hear it every time. So dope.
Yess

That’s her tag! ❤
A one hit wonder! I like her on Dish nation
The DaBrat came with 🔥🔥🔥on this
Still listening in 2024
❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
I knew she meant business the way she came through. Seeing this one live is even more epic
❤
I'm soooooo thankful to have grew up in the 90s with some of the best hiphop and R&B. these kids these days will never know man.
K. Whit must've been nice 😪
K. Whit If only I could see it with my own eyes instead of videos and photos that I wasn't in.......
yep. now hip hop all sounds the same. It's entertaining but I can't tell the difference between them. Especially rap, with the exception of a few unique voices like Future and Young Thug. They all sound the same.
doointhedoo Might as well call it Hip Pop now😶😰😱 Only 16 btw😌
I know just well and I'm a millennial (born in 2000)
I HATE IT FOR THE YOUNG GENERATION WE HAVE NOW THAT MISSED THIS GOLDEN ERA IN THE 90s
Ari Reid ikr
Ari Reid I agree
Ari Reid I know I’m young and I think that this is batter then lil lump
Good gawd yes💯🔥🎯🤷🏽♀️🙅🏾♀️👊🏽
There are very few of us younger people who listen to 90s. I would choice this than any song today
2024 and Brat has given birth and we still here for a 30 yr old classic!!! THIRTY YEARS YA'LL! DAMN WE OLD! 😂
😅
she raised me with her track b side and im still 18......on of best females 2 ever do it .......i personally give her the flowers she deserves💐💐
😂😂😂
❤❤❤😂🎉🎉🎉
Back in the 1994-1995 period, this songs' original run, I first fell for this song as a junior high school kid. The song still stands up years later and beyond.
tight tracks-great vocals, cool visuals, Da Brat was tight, she rocked
80s baby™️
This takes me back to Summer of 94 being 14 years old I remember when girls was wearing her hair style.
Aww man. Same. Takes me right back to 8th grade when it first came out! Early 90s. What an era!!
Facts cuz we 80’s babies would know!!!
Still good in 2025
Who listening?
Me bro
Yea da brat was nice. These chicks actually gotta bow down to her cus she went platinum even before foxy or lil Kim or Lauryn hill, so she opened up a lot of doors for female rappers.
The Nineties had such an unique sounding rap and R&B sound. Three decades later Funkdafied symbolizes that.
The 90s was really our peak honestly the movies the styles the house parties everything… I still rock my small hoop earrings sometimes I wish I could go back and stay there
@@Cuete590 The last decade of the pre-Internet era.
Im an no limit soldier
I remember when this album came out, it sold out so fast. Had to go to a couple of record stores to get a copy. Good times.
Yep, there were actually stores where you could go and spend hours looking for an actual record...Not a digital version. Still have some of my old LPs.
@@zoriya7224 that's how u no she was fly back then, hell she sold out!
Funny I was able to get this ablum no problem where I lived one of the first I ever brought but the sad part was it only had 7 songs and 1 was a remix version of "Funkdafied!"
This was my jam...I loved her style... her flow.,.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤.....were the 80's babies at...
94 when it's came out. I'm 40 now dam. Times fly.
I was 4 or 5 when it came out lol I’m almost 32 now lol
1994 might have been the best year for hip hop ever.
You not by yourself!!!
Damn invite me to your funeral
47 soon to be 48
When she says baptized in the funk and that beat drop I go nuts!
same here
This joint is So FUNKDAFIED
Sucram Sucram. you ain't lying i was 14 when it came out and still playing it on vinyl at 38
Sucram Sucram You made me rewind and saw what you talking about.
Hell yes
Dat Brat was COLD asF with the dopest beats. Harder than 80% of rapper out these days 😂
I will ALWAYS Love this and I'm 52. I'll be 100 and still love it.
Same!! All day ery day!
I can beat you. I'm 62 and listening to it right now. Have a blessed day!
Happy 49th Birthday DaBrat.....& Congratulations on the pregnancy 💯🥰

She can rap and keep her clothes on!! Talented and beautiful.
Falling in love ❤❤
Nothing like the 90's
TERRISHA HILL Hell yeah
I dont miss it
What
TH-cam Comment Section yeah you weren’t a 90s baby
Yeah it seems like devil worship was just as prevalent back then as it is today nothing new here nothing but the same old stuff
keeping P-Funk alive in the 90’s
Da Brat was a brilliant lyricist bar none
Still vibin to this classic. 2025 😊🎶🎶
The Golden Hawaiian Swordsman Dragon jammed to this on 90's Nation on MTV Classic today!
This song still PACKS the dance floor anytime it drops. #congratulations Brat on being a timeless beauty with the timeless hits! ❤❤❤
I am still Jammin this classic hip hop hit in 2020!😂😂😂😘😘
I was so young when this came out.
I remember this i was a young nigga now im a Gee meaning OG this the shit we was off of
I feel you 💯 one love peace
Yessss vibes.
Jamekia Ridgely 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I wish myself grow up in that generation era. I heard the 90 era was the golden years
Bag Savage it was such good times when kids were kids outside playing
And yes it was!!!!
Yes it was! Best era to be a teenager and young adult in. So glad I'm a 70s baby so I was able to be in high school and college during the 90s. 😁
It was the best!!!
@@vtigga3625 yep! Born in 77, graduated in 96. I was blessed to see the 80s and 90s, best times ever! The world is so crazy and weird now, feels like I'm in a fever dream. Everyone is so disconnected
This NEVER gets old for me. Clean version just as good as the album version.
Classic status
That's how it was back in the day. They made the clean version sound just as good as the explicit version.
The clean version is better.
I like this version more then the album version
SHE'S absolutely beautiful and the best ever
This song has aged perfectly👌🏾
I remember when this album hit.She had girls dressing like her which at the time were some sagging jeans with a over sized shirt. She killed this entire album. At the time her and Lauryn Hill w/Fugees were the sickest female rappers. Funkdafied and The Score have the best female flows that no current female rappers can even touch. Listen to both albums and tell me I am not speaking the truth.
Word
I see nuthin but facts here
Big facts
Don't forget MC Lyte
popular female rappers today consist of cardi b and megan the stallion. talk about a downgrade
This is still one of the hardest songs I ever heard. This was Da Brat at her best as well as JD! The beat , the flow, everything man!
I feel like JD stands for Just Dance, beacuse it's on a spinoff called The Hip Hop Dance Experience
JD was one of the coldest producers of the 90s and still is. 🔥🔥🔥
Fun fact: This was his first time rapping and da brat convinced him to do it... even after written for kriss Kross which sold millions...
The music comes from The Isley Brothers.
@@tinytowz4471between the sheets
Da Brat kept the lyrics, hair and makeup lit....can’t leave out ... Monie Love, Queen Latifah,MC Light, Missy E back in the ‘daze’
Da Brat is still better than rappers in 2018.
*opinion
Her and MC Lyte can rock any of these female rappers.
No doubt
Missy elliott always been my favorite
Yea Missy too. What about the queen? She rocked that mic in the early days. Hella flow
No need to argue: she's gorgeous and still rocks in 2020 like yesterday!
BAPTIZED IN DA FUNK!!
I used to have this entire album on cassette
This track is timeless, everything is amazing, the beat, Da Brat's flow, that remind me a lot of memories when I went in parties or clubs with my buddies.

Da Brat is not just a great femal rapper she is just a great Rapper that can hang with the best of them she was a unique talent one of the greats......
We took this era of music for granted
So true everything was
I couldn't agree more, we truly took it for granted. I don't think anyone really saw the garbage coming.
That's what every era says.......but I agree on most of them
Born n 91 n yall rite this was the last of a dying breed I miss smooth rnb sounding hiphop smooth fun and had a message grateful was a baby hearing magic
We regretting it now with all these 🗑 called music
This CD was fire. Funkdafied was underrated. I miss shit like this. Smacking these stripper female rapper out today.

damn this took me back...but now that i listen...i think she was inspired by snoop the way she was rapping...hot song...damn i miss those days
You don't think it was the satanic baptism at the beginning that has anything to do with inspiration
Yea I can hear Snoop Dogg in her flow. Not to mention that in West Coast Hip-Hop, funk music was one constant element in it.
Most people say that we are past hip hop's better days.....so true
You still a youngster in this hip hop music. Tha Brat and Snoop came out almost the same time. In the early 90s. Them two is only a year apart. 1994 and 1993. She from Chicago. And Chicago been rapping like that in the 90s. By you said that she inspired by Snoop. You dead wrong 😂😂😂. You way too young 😂😂😂.
Da Brat the best. Been listening to her over 25 years. Love you and your family. God bless you and your family always
Boy, when this song came out, the whole junior high school went crazy. I remember I was in South Carolina 🎉🎉
We all knew Brat was into women. We still love her! She legit hasn't aged!!!!!!
I love how she has always stayed true to herself & style.
Not necessarily lol all the girls dressed like sexy studs in the mid 90s lol
Da brat is tight like she one of my favorite rapper besides lil kim and eve.
Teens today don't know what they missed back in the day. Brat was all that.
They missed a satanic baptism at the beginning I'm glad they missed it they have enough satanic influences as it is
@@Stevenlyons777 just play the beginning of the video it's a mocking of Christ baptism talk about baptizing in the funk. You can say I'm taking things too far out of context we'll see on Judgement Day
John Smith_Treeler man you’re over analyzing who cares this song bangs and Da Brat was dope
@@Stevenlyons777 no you'll just let anybody get away with whatever they want to as long as you can get away with whatever you want to so you can do what you want have your reward now if you want it you think this trash the satanic filth is the stuff go ahead that's on you. But on Judgement Day I don't want to hear you crying and whining and I don't want to see you hesitant or no answers and I don't want to hear no excuses. I'm going to be there too and I'm going to be like I warned him. And before you go getting that rule out about not judging people or things. A spiritual man judges all things and in the end those who belongs to Christ will judge humans and Angels .
John Smith_Treeler u crazy bro
Damn my childhood was legit the best era in music all around. Rock rap country you name it…this whole time period was ridiculous…if you don’t consider JD top 3 all time hip hop producers I don’t know what to tell you man…at this point? The test of time tells ALL.
