    This has helped me so much today. I have spent hours fixing the tension on the heavy thread for denim. I did not know how to sort out the tension. Very well explained. I was so happy it worked like a dream once I sorted the bobbin out and the tension on the machine. I have the Juki 8000a (I only had it for two weeks). I love it.

    Ty so much!!! I purchased a brand new Juki and I’ve had nothing but problems since I started using it because I was unaware of the top and bottom adjustments. This has clarified everything and resolved my problems. Now my brand new sewing machine is working like a brand new sewing machine thanks to you. God bless

      I’m fixing to throw my Singer 4423 in the lake it’s jamming trash. I want a Juki lock stick and it’s gotta be easier to keep running than a plastic bobbin singer

    Once again you saved the day. I'm getting better at this tension all the time. When you said from zero tension turn the dial ten times, it just clicked in my head, I need to turn the dial more than a quarter turn every test row. And the very next line I had perfect stitches. Thank you!

    What a difference this video made! I didn't know I had to make such drastic turns to set the tension. Thank you.

    Good zoom on that camera. Good explanation of all the subtleties of tension problems. Thank you ! These instructions apply to all my machines. juki LZH-1290, Juki 5550, consew 227, sailrite lsz-1, cowboy 3200. Although the JUKI-LZH-1290 is a real problem child, it's real sensitive to changes regarding material thickness, density, stitch length and width. Constant tension fiddling on that one machine.

    This was the most helpful video on TH-cam to fix my bobbin tension every video suggested it was the bobbin container when it was actually just needing a couple turns on the wheel tension 👍👍

    Thank you so much. You explained the tension problem that my Juki 2000 was having. The bird nest on the botton. No tech here in the Phoenix area seems to be able to fix it. Anyway, thank you again and the examples made a big difference.

    I've read several posts about people having fine tension sewing forward, but thread breakages when reversing. Is that a tension problem or something else? Could you and your expert mechanic address that in another video? Thanks to you both for the information.

    Great video.., I have a console industrial model number 7360 R .I am sewing basic denim... My needle keeps breaking!! It works fine on other material.. But as soon as I get some denim under there like a hem, etc, the needle breaks
    Now I am using Organ Needles, 110/18. DB x 1. What is the strongest needle that I could possibly use???

    Hello, thanks for your video's! They are great!
    I purchased a juki 8700 with a jack motor without instructions. So I learned a lot from your video's. I try to stitch with 3 layers. Cotton, basting and cotton again. Try to make a quilt. But when i stitch the 3 layers, the top layer is moving to me. The pressurefoot is pushing on the top layer. how can I avoid that? Is there a video where I can see that and to learn how to stitch correct?

    If you are used to the old metal traditional sewing machines, solving tension problems is just a matter of trial and error and you need to be patient.

    My top thread is getting twisted upwards from the tentioner all the way back to the spool and then it propagates up and gets jammed. Any idea why I'm having this problem? (can't find any info about that kind of issue) thanks for all the other really helpful tutorials 👍

    Watched a number of your videos...great help. I did pick up on one thing that I never knew before, that the tension disks open with the knee lift. I have to drag thread out to cut after stitching. Saw you do this on a Juki 8700 and this 8100. I have a DDL-8500. That hook next to tension adjust rises when I press the knee lift, but the tension disks do not open like yours. Always felt wrong to pull thread against needle with tension, so I pull thread out through disks first. Should mine be opening too? Thanks.

    • @Sewinggold
      @Sewinggold  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, they should open. Your tension may not be seated far enough in the machine or the pin inside your tension assembly is missing.

      @@Sewinggold Thanks, I will check that out!

      Well, I'll be ding dang donged...you were right. I watched your other video on the tension release pin. My tension assembly was out too far and seized in place. Had a white looking grease like in your video, and it was dried up. Got everything apart, cleaned, and readjusted. Soooo much easier pulling thread now. Before I would pull it by hand else risk breaking the needle, now just move the fabric away. Thanks so much!

    I use two different bobbin cases for thin thread and thicker jeans thread. That way I never have to adjust the tension on the bobbin case.

    I have a question, When sewing Denim is the bobbin tension supposed to be tight and the thread tension loose? Or do I have that wrong?

    • @Sewinggold
      @Sewinggold  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The bobbin tension will always feel looser then the main tension on the machine.
