You couldn't remove it due to it's necessary to push the tip while you try to rotate it and thus it releases and lets it rotate
According to my info, the plunger needs to be pushed in when removing. My issue was, I replaced the brake booster and the travel of my brake pedal was slightly shorter than before so the brake pedal was intermittent in engaging the switch plunger. I ordered a replacement and the plunger travel was longer. All good.
I also need to replace mine for the same reason. When you reinstalled it, did you leave the brake pedal fully-extended? I understand the plunger is supposed to be depressed when it's removed, but what about when you reinstall it?

I have been looking for a video on this for months an months on end. Thank you and my toe thanks you as I had to pull up om break every time and now my toe is bruised and swollen I am excited. I knew it could be adjusted just didn't know how this type of break sensor could been adjusted
