Brandon, nice work as always. And may I say, your voice, tone, speech cadence, inflection, and what ever else that is important for narration is spot-on. Clear and relaxing as well as informative. I look forward to your videos.
So appreciate the comment, I wasn't very good at narration so I watched some videos and practiced over the last few weeks so I could get better at it. Thanks for noticing!
Searching for this kind of videos here on TH-cam for learning, cause i am a old cars restorer im my city, i just found this great video, and just discovered that the Brandon's bus came from a city just 80 kms from my city.(I suspected at the time i saw the license plaque). I had a 68 bus( here in Brazil we call "Kombi"), that i just sell to client of mine, and he asked to me to complete the restoration. In my country these cars were pushed to the limit in heavy duty work, that explain the body situation, and the fact that about 20 years ago the old "Kombis" had a very low value in the market , you could easily buy one for 50 or 100 bucks. That started to change about 15 years ago because of the nostalgy. We had here 3 kinds of "Kombi": the T1 ,that we lovely call here "corujinha" that means "little owl"(owlet) cause she has a face like an owl (57 to 75), we had the "Clipper Kombi" (75 to 97) and the "Carat Kombi" (97 to 2013), and i think is a shame for us the fact of produce this vehicles for so many time, millions of units, and today has a so poor support on nacional body parts, thats ridiculous! Very nice work Brandon! Your style of working , looks to much like my style to work here, searching for the rust werever it be! Very good job!
So appreciate the comment! I had been searching for the answer to the meaning behind "corujinha" for years now, Im so grateful for the explanation. This bus worked as a Taxi in that city, further explaining how rough it had been treated, but Im grateful to give her a second life.
Haha I was just about to suggest a needle scaler for that undercoating and then I saw yours in the video. That thing was a god send on the undercoating of my bus.
I’m interested in your metal prep process I know I have surface rust on outside and inside. I’ll have to look at your videos to see what products you use. Por 15 is a bit pricey in New Zealand
Bandon that is one of those busses that LOOKED good at one time....But they repaired the crap out of it just to get another fare....Probably a taxi in Brazil.
For sure it was a taxi, the multiple shades of yellow was one sign. One of my followers was able to look up the old license plate and found it was a taxi in Itajai, Brazil, a small coastal town.
When you cut off that black piece of floor detritus. You just fixed the substandard weld and you got it done! Man there’s several channels like yours. But frankly they seem amateurish and disorganised they aren’t following a well conceived master plan like you seem to always know when, what and where.I do have a question for you which you might get asked a lot who does your engine restores and /or rebuilds?
Loving the progress....And we all make mistakes along the way....Also, where to you find that weld through that works with POR15? Thanks! Keep up the great work...
I am considerably older than you dude let’s just say that I may be older than the bus you are rebuilding. A recovering rock musician who ended up in a wheelchair. The idea of going places without my chair is dreadful walking is extremely painful the idea of one of your restorations transporting me and my chair is a dream. Do you think a floor like the one you have rebuilt could support me and my chair total weight approximately 600 lbs
New video on a sunday night (in Germany) - doesnt get much better than that! Great work as usual!
Stimmt genau 😄🤙🏻🍿
Love the long format video with voice-over.
Your knowledge of VW repairs is vast. Thanks for sharing 👍.
Ive been working on getting better at my voiceovers! Thanks for the kind comment :)

I get the feeling that when you are finished with this vehicle, it will be lightyears better than new... Thumbs Up!
That’s the goal! I will have restored every piece by the time I’m done.
Brandon your log of activities really helps one appreciate how skilled and patient you are.
Great to watch this along with "Vangabonders" and the master "Fitzee's Fabrications"

An excellent video of skilled and careful work.
Really enjoy this!! Thank you for recording the process in detail, it will be an outstanding historical account of the vehicle and its construction!!
Really looking forward to watching my own restoration series in 10 years from now, all the memories!
So therapeutic watching the bus come back from the grave!
Good luck meeting your deadline. Looking forward to seeing it rolling
Floor pan came out nice. Good work. Happy Motoring.
Hello, frankly you do a great job, we see that you are 100% passionate.👏
Excellent as always. I really enjoy your thorough approach and your articulate narration. Thank you.
Thank you! I really put some effort into my narration skills, something I'm not super at yet.
This is next level craftsmanship! 👌🙂
So exciting!! I love deadlines!
Awesome video. I admire your creativity
Solid work brother
amazing video and commentary!!
Thank you! Editing can really take some time
Good luck with deadline my friend “Chance favors the prepared mind” don’t know who originally said it but it sounds like something Sun Tzu would say

Thanks for following along!
Yeh boss kicking goals mate👊🏽🤙🏽
getting there! I love this bus, but id love it more if it were on the road.
@@BrandonsBus don’t worry it will get there, after my 3 year build on my orange bus the first drive was the best😉✌🏾
I found heating and wiping with a cotton rag a bit easier. Hot bitumen and wire wheeling is a new torture.
Impressionnant, bravo👌
Loving the progress....And we all make mistakes along the way....Also, where to you find that weld through that works with POR15? Thanks! Keep up the great work...
Thanks! POR sells a weld thru primer, I can’t find it anywhere other than their website. Works really well.
The replacement pieces: why are they only sections of whole panels? Are they sold that way or are you custom ordering them?
They are sold that way, You can buy a full replacement or just the side repairs that you need to weld in.
The floor looks super. Would of been quicker to order a whole new floor, but then you would be a parts installer and not a true pannel beater.
Haha yea, I wanted to learn rust repair and bodywork so I chose to try and use as much original metal as possible.
Very Nice Work
Great job!
Thanks!
Quality work as always !
You really need to use thinner cutting discs, as you weld gaps are too wide. MIG weld is brittle, so the welds are likely to fail
That’s a really good tip, thanks!
Trabalho de qualidade muito bom parabéns
looks good , thanks

Which weld thru primer works with POR?
POR sells their own weld thru primer in a spray can that is compatible.
@@BrandonsBus Thank you!
Was your Bus from Florida? One would think vehicles would be less prone to rust in that road salt free environment.
It was from a salty little beach town in Brazil!
Great
txs for sharing...
Family time is always first! Bus comes second :)
at 3:13 there's a little face in the floor that is as shocked at the quality of repairs as the rest of us!
