My 2.0tdi golf 7 sometimes have hard start, after 4-5 times it start and have large white smoke for next few minutes. After that it loss coolant about 0,2 liter. Can it be intercooler?
Well I did not do the repair. It takes a lot of time for a part that is so up in the engine compartment. I know you will need some special tools for the bolts underneath the part. Also a lot of electrical as you can see and a some very important diesel and coolant pipes runs on top of it. My advice is always to change the brackets that goes on either end of a hose. My techs did not follow this advice and I had togo twice back for simple stupid auto tightening brackets. If you would do it yourself, take photos of how it was, make sure all connections are clicked and locked (another thing I saw quite often after the repair was not properly done).
No. The smoke will appear only when you loose significant amount of coolant. Mine was at first 1g per liter. This is undetectable. At 10g per liter it was still not making any smoke. Once you start loosing 500g per 100 km I think it will 🙂
How would you do that? I think you have to take the intake out to have access to the pipes which on CNHA are below the intake. I guess if you can join them or tap those two pipes and do pressure test you can isolate if this is the issue. But when you do the pressure test and you have 2 out of 4 cylinders full you can conclude this is the part that needs changing. But going back to your original question maybe you have access to those pipes at their other ending... not sure.
Don't do that. You risk high temperature gas that goes into the engine without a real cool down. In my 2.0tdi the air sensor at the end of intercooler say 54C° at full throttle. I don't won't to know how could it be without water in intercooler. Simply buy a microcamera and insert it in the air sensor hole and see if there is a leak inside intercooler.
@@davide1555 I think he does not mean to bypass and drive it like that. I think he wants to do this for testing purposes with pressure testing. Bypassing and driving I totally agree - it is a NO NO.
I seems have this problem 2.0tdi 190 adblue Small them accelerated leaks with no external leaks And one day difficulty to start And always leak more after big heat put in motor and long rest after From full to empty expansion
@@stephanemaster8808hello! I have the same engine in my A6 2018 and i also have internal coolant loss. Did you changed the same part of the vídeo, the intake manifolfd cooler and its solved? Thank you

Hi, if it is water cooled like mine then yes. It can be a couple of things so you need to test it.
How you took it off? How long it takes?

What is the name of the part ? Any code ? I have the same issue and also liquid smell
Wouldnt it smoke if this is the issue mine doesnt leak until it cool and no obvious smell or sign of a leak on any pipe

Could you bypass the coolant pipes to the intake manifold - join pipe 41 & pipe 40 together to prove this is where leak is? Any dangers in Doing this?

I had another leak water pump original after 3 years start leaking
I seems have this problem
2.0tdi 190 adblue
Small them accelerated leaks with no external leaks
And one day difficulty to start
And always leak more after big heat put in motor and long rest after
From full to empty expansion
I changed the intercooler intergrated and it was it
Now it nog leak anymore
