With such a great fuel economy, even if it hurts to not hear a V6 rumble from the engine, it's a very nice trade-off. Especially since the power seems to be there. Nice work, Ford.

Hey Ben--try shifting it into 'sport' mode. That gives you plenty of acceleration for passing. Literally drives like a different truck in sport mode imo..

I found that on a test drive the engine lacks responsive power at higher speeds, which you noted. Have you tried towing anything yet? Have you taken it on a road trip yet and been able to compare it to a full size from a comfort standpoint?

I like this Truck, but just don't understand why fuel economy is so low. 19 mpg is not good (granted your driving at higher altitude, but the turbo should be helping with that), this thing should be up in low-20's city and mid/high-20's highway. What are people getting down at sea level?

It's a game they play to boost CAFE fuel economy ratings in stop and go traffic. In the real world it might not do much, but it's been tailored to "help" with the specific testing they undergo to determine MPG ratings. Higher city MPG for the entire fleet = less need to actually improve fuel economy = less money spent on development.

DUDE, how do you get such good fuel economy? I best an average on my Ranger Tremor at 17. And I'm a conservative driver.
Also, on your off-road tests, I hit 26 degrees on my angles like it's nobody's business. That's on rock and gravel. It can handle A LOT more than you test. I haven't done the jumping test yet, but I really don't have terrain that allows me a smooth approach to try it.
FYI, the only issue I have is that I do not understand why the terrain steer isn't included. The reason I bought the truck was to navigate tight spots. No truck can beat it, but imagine if it had the terrain steer as well like the F-150. We could climb Everest!! (with oxygen, of course)

Umm... you're not doing the fuel use correctly. First you fill up your tank, reset the trip odometer. When you have finished your planned destination. Fill up your tank, get the trip mileage and divide by the number or gallons of gas. That is your actual MPG. Compare that to the display to verify the accuracy and variance. The gas pumps at stations are regulated and inspected on a regular basis for accuracy. You vehicle odometer in general have to accurate, but as far as I know there isn't regulation for fuel economy displays/calculation in vehicles.
Even better, keep a notepad and do this process after every fuel up (after engine break in). The more times the better and since it it is between fill ups, i.e. daily driving habits, weather and road conditions, etc and you're not thinking about it it will reflect what you should expect. With multiple entries you can get an average of them all to reflect an accurate MPG and if you're a stat nerd you can even figure out the standard deviation so if your efficiency dips outside the norm you can troubleshoot why.
My 2006 Civic Hybrid display would show 48 MPG between fill ups and it was 45 so it was off by 6%. And I could do single trip fill ups and nudge it up to 55 MPG with the display showing 50 so the computer is estimating consumption. Also earlier years it was higher in both. Granted that the technology since 2006 has improved, but you should journal the mileage & actual gallons to your vehicle's calculated MPG (trust but verify) .
I'm doing this with my recently acquired 2021 Ford Tremor. And I'm about top off the tank to see what the results are and how different it is from the display.
    ***Update***
Okay my second fill up result:. 170.5 miles / 10.263 gallons = 16.6 MPG & the fuel economy reads 24.5 MPG. This was about 30% highway and 70% city.
I didn't measure the first fill up because it was a partial tank and most not driven by me. I am expecting better MPG on subsequent fill ups as I adjust to driving it, but that is just how much variance there was with the trip odometer. So do your actual measurements. Regardless I'm currently satisfied with getting this Truck.
