That might've been the best combined the NY/NJ teams did together, both reaching the East semis with the Knicks pushing the eventual champion Celtics to seven games. I can't recall another instance where both teams were in that situation.
What a nail-biter! That was like watching an all-star game and there were all kinds of heroes on both teams. Junior Bridgeman, Bob Lanier, Marques Johnson, and Alton Lister were on fire, and Sidney Moncrief REALLY came alive in that last quarter. I don't think they would have won were it none for his internal rally that sparked the team. And Buck Williams, Otis Birdsong, and Albert King were killing it for the the Nets, I thought the Nets had it in the bag, but Sidney surprised us! But I gotta say, winners of losers, Darryl Dawkins was the best player on the court in that game. Even though elements were the same as his classic days with the 76ers, I couldn't believe the growth in Dawkins; still the stellar defense and plenty of points, but man, he was not quick to pick up fouls, and he was about perfect from the field, unless he was fouled, in which case I'm pretty sure he didn't miss a single shot at the FT line. Dawkins deserves more credit for being both a great offensive and defensive force, but it was probably the foul trouble that kept him from winning a championship early in his career. If he Caldwell Jones didn't get in foul trouble in the '82 finals I'm positive they would have won.
How about showing the Phoenix Suns with Walter Davis,Kyle Macy, K.J. ,and the others old stars they had I grew up with seeing them in an Phoenix when they won the West division best record made the playoffs all those years straight
Come to think of it, I wouldn't be surprised if Moses Malone learned a lot of his style of play from Lanier, he reminds me of Lanier here, the way Lanier would battle in the paint, rebounding his misses over and over again, muscling in and finally scoring, or picking up the foul. Lanier was such a menace in the paint.
Collapse in judgement in crunch time. Should’ve taken a chance in free throws when the clock was at 20 sec left so that bucks had the final shot whether it’s make or miss to avoid an even harder comeback with less time. Really goes to show how much the significance of a good coaching staff changed in basketball overtime, beyond just being clout based.
This is a DEFENSE clinic! I love it! This is how basketball ought to have been continued to be played.
Buck Williams, what a player! Blocking that shot at 7:34 and then rebounding it. Never seen anything like it.

A classic NBA uniform matchup! Chocolate Thunder was AWESOME! 👍

12:30 that's what they mean when they say the game is soft now. Today birdsong gets a flagrant 2
Lanier not known for his shot-blocking? What a bunch of bullcrap.
The 84 Bucks would sweep the 86 Celtics in 4 straight.
Keep drinking
Awesome video quality much better than having to use a rabbit Antenna in the 80s
2:18 is such a testament to the power and control of Darryl Dawkins. He shoots up like a bullet and grabs the only one-handed rebound you'll ever see.

I was 12 years old when I watched this as a Bucks fan.

Bob Lanker was an excellent player. And always kts a pleasure to see Dawkins again.
Thx alot for classic🎉
And then at 7:12 Marques Johnson grabs the only other one-handed rebound you'll ever see 😂
That was impressive!! Thank you
What a match!🎉
