If the Bucks didn't move from the Midwest Division and the Western Conference to the Central Division and the Eastern Conference prior to the 80/81 season - this may have been the matchup in the Western Conference Finals for years and maybe had changed the landscape of the NBA for the decade. I mean the Lakers never had that one team that could year after year challenge them. Of course there was Houston in 86 - but that only lasted one year. It was always the random Suns Nuggets or Spurs or Mavericks and even the Jazz. But never a team that could annually push the Lakers. I think Milwaukee won 60 games in 1981 - but with Philadelphia and Boston they were always on the outside looking in.
@@sdcazares1980 You know, I was a bit skeptical (still am honestly) as there was no big fanfare regarding that. Rick Barry has mad skills, I can see why the Lakers acquired Wilkes, Robert Parrish is underrated. Jabbar in his prime is the top 3 player of all time. The Lakers had the weaker team and still won because of Jabbar.

Over use of the 3 pointer has made the NBA unwatchable....if somehow you find that exciting, you have incredibly boring taste. It is no longer basketball. The 3 pointer is outdated and no longer should any player be rewarded for making an open outside shot undefended. Taking out the 3 point line would be the best thing the NBA has done in a long time. It's the only sport that gives an extra point for a score based on the distance. Soccer and Hockey don't award extra for a longer shot. Football doesn't award extra points for a longer scoring TD. Baseball doesn't give an extra run on longer home runs.....basketball is the only sport that does that. It is no longer a challenge to shoot a 3 pointer....Every FG should be worth the same amount, just like every other sport. The NBA use to be my favorite sport to watch....now it's my least favorite. Heck, I'd rather watch golf or Tennis at this point. @rafikz77

Back then they actually had rules, and enforced them, that would make scoring harder. I bet today's NBA shekel counters at the top will be making the hoop bigger or the ball smaller any second now...

Why is this so much more enjoyable to watch than today’s NBA?

Lets add the fact that coaches dressed like head men and not like they worked at Costco. Today’s coaches look like they’re wearing pajamas. So lame.
