      This is more indicative of what watching basketball on TV in the 80's looked like. More often than not when watching 80's footage, it's a copy of a copy. A "high definition" digitized rip from an old, badly degraded VHS tape that was likely of iffy quality to begin with, of a 480p analog broadcast. So of course, it's going to look like trash. I'm a Lakers fan, but I like the rest of the NBA as well and grew up during this era, so it's awesome to see a TH-cam video from this era that looks close to what it actually looked like when watching it. Oh, and I've always dug these green-and-red Bucks uniforms.

    The Milwaukee Bucks nowadays are easily one of their best teams. With only the championship team of 1970 being equal to or better. However this team or the Bucks in the 80's had some exciting teams as well. Terry Cummings was a phenomenal player. Sidney Moncrief was another great player. Craig Hodges or Mister 3-pointer was at times a incredible sharpshooter. Alton Lister was a decent big man. But nothing spectacular. I remember watching this team on WVTV Channel-18, back in the day. I was born(1967), and raised in Milwaukee. I spent 30-35 years there. Going to see the Bucks at the Mecca Arena and the Brewers at Milwaukee County🏟Stadium🏟, were some of the best memories I had back then. The 41-Twin Drive-in was another great place to go for fun and excitement. Plus on the way there was a really 😎🆒️🆒️😎 cool place for kids. The Go-Kart track! They also had a massive slide, like you'd see at a State Fair, or an Amusement Park with all of the hills. It was rainbow colored, pretty tall, and it was okay I guess. They also had these unique "swings" that you yourself had to operate from the inside of the caged swing. They'd give you a starting push then they'd step aside and it was then up to you to work it. Milwaukee had some really unique and oddly entertaining places. It was a really fun place to grow up. I loved it! But the Bucks and especially the Brewers were my favorite part of my childhood during the 70's and early 80's. It was a much simpler time, a far safer time, and everything just seemed more comfortable, peaceful, and FUN!

    • @johnpazell8424
      @johnpazell8424 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The story goes back to June, 1979. Kemper Arena was hit by lightning and the roof fell down. The King's had a 30 year lease and Minneapolis was trying to poach the team. The arena was repaired, but the lease was renegotiated to 5 years, expirng in 1985.
      That, plus the MISL team was selling out and getting a lot of buzz and the NBA was just about to have it's growth spurt. But it missed Kansas City. A group from Sacramento bought the team and moved them. The King's were always a stepchild on the KC sports scene. It was sad for fans like me. Someday, the NBA may return here.

      @@cjbcoleman That's right in the mid to late 70s, they were well supported- particuarly in 78-81 when they had Phil Ford and Otis Birdsong in the backcourt- Scott Wedman at forward; Lacey at center- good team that Cotton Fitzimmons built up to be competitive. 1979 was probably the best of those- 1981 was a very good team. It started falling off for the Kings after that 81 season- they lost most of the players I mentioned above to free agency and the crowds began to fall off.
