I am from penang I think I cannot compare johor and penang because both are good place both have different exciting places. I love Malaysia
but it's better to compete against each other. together we are on our way to success. I love Malaysia 💜
I think both of these city are in the same level of development and actually there is nothing to compare about,, unless if both of this city compare with other city in South east asia
Both have many things to love about them. I don't prefer a particular one overall, they both have their things, cant wait to visit them again
I’m from kl. Definitely jb cannot be compared to Penang. Penang is such a lovely place to visit. I love Penang
JB is just flat lands without much seaside exposure..Penang has it all
I like Johor, because you have more choices there, from nature to city life, from street foods to restaurants, from health care, shoppings, theme parks to educations. If you are still bored, you can easily drive to Singapore or take flights to overseas. And most importantly I like Johor because it is a hidden treasure- many international tourists know about Penang but only very few know about Johor :-)

For me, both cities is very good. But Johor have a lot more developments than Penang because Johor have a lot of potential since it is very close to Singapore and also Sultan Johor is rich AF

Johor and Penang should have MRT or LRT by now. Imagine this 2 cities in 10 - 15 years without proper public transportation system.
agreed..malaysia put too focus on klang valley for mrt..penang n jb city had surpassed 1million population..sometimes i feel like i hate kL..too developed and had left jb n penang behind..i do hope in the future JB and Penang can host sea games..everytime KL..KL..KL..wutta fish man..
@@natep6729 yezza..For Sea Games, see thailand, nakhon ratchasima & chiangmai had organized sea games before..next, 2025 chonburi will host the sea games. even indonesia had introduced Palembang as one of their sea games &Asian games' venue..believe all of us have heard Jakarta-Palembang as joint-city host..ok let us see Asian Games,a bigger event..the last non capital city as Asian games host were as follows; Incheon2014,Guangzhou2010,Busan 2002,Hiroshima94..future; Hangzhou2022 & Nagoya2026. It takes more than 3 hrs traveling from Forest City to Desaru on toll roads. More than 4 hours on old roads via the JB town. MRT/LRT/commuter are non existent in both Cities yet.
Penang ade masalah dengan site2 unesco...jika nk buat lrt, byk kwsan2 sejarah unesco akn terjejas...bila dh terjejas, unesco xkn iktiraf bndr tu sbgi tpak warisan....

In terms of daily life I chose Johor Bahru because it was more balanced and less stressful. With the acceptance of the various races here we are not at odds with each other. Except for the Kiasu Singaporeans.

Im from Johor, Ive worked in Singapore for a while as a retail worker, just to get the experience but the problem is my colleagues especially my manager is very racist towards me, calling me names and made fun of my state. Quitted after 2 months, couldn't handle the hate.

Similar are industrial City. Wide coverages in area. Population is similar. Yet a feel of kampong too. Food are quite diverse. Johor has more Malay flavour Penang more Chinese.
Difference are Penang more organised in development and we'll planned. Touristy, feel more comfortable and cheaper to stay in.

Both are great..but johor almost the greatest if they have future planing which is how to attract more visitor by making a lot of places for us to take a chills and so forth..
Johor works on Friday not like the rest of progressive parts of Malaysia...even Sabah don't work on Sundays
Two city two different culture and lifestyle, both city are great. I am from JB, sometime I like travel to Penang. If you ask the people from Penang , you will get same answer too. The Penang people also travel to JB also.

Currently i think penang won and more special than jb in term of tourism but in 10 years from now i think JB will be a great great city and equivalent to KV.
My husband and me visited Penang in December 2017 and have lovely memories of this clean, serene city with down to earth people

@@championking Penang food sucks too. I prefer to eat maggi mee everyday. Penang is quite dirty and can see rubbish everywhere. Malacca is much better than Penang in my opinion, and 2nd JB.

Saya asal jakarta, sekarang duduk di singapore. Setiap minggu saya berkeluarga makan, shopping, dan jalan2 ke Legoland di JB. Hidup hemat dan lebih berqualitas menikmati hidup ini yang hanya 1 kali saja.

JB got so much on going developments. RAPID, RNF, Forest City. jb metro feel is better than penang.
the only criteria that Penang win is their Highrise, food, and tourism. no doubt their highrise is almost double than JB ( thanks to their limited land to develop landed house rather than JB). but after all development completed in JB, i think jb can beat penang in term of number of highrise ( JB cannot beat a beautiful skyline because their Highrise is scattered due to big area plus Penang has a mountain and sea)

Rapidly develop buat pe hdi still low dari penang .. Haha ..bina bangunan tinggi2 bg singaporean dn orng luar je tinggal.. Xmcm penang ,still maintain heritage ,bina kondo ,appartmnt mampu milik.. Ingat dana peruntukaan utk johor selain dari kerajaan pusat,sultan juga support financialy . Bkn mcm penang yg xada sultan
zul helmi i born at perak. stay at penang while kids and now working at jb at one of the top developer in malaysia. and i speak as a non johorian.quite often to me to visit penang and of course jb. thats is my opinion. the feel is different when you drive from permas jaya to jb city to medini and skudai. more like KL feels. but if you drive from bayan lepas to georgetown and tg bungah, you can’t feel the “metro feel”.. narrow road and etc..
as for the bigger metro, yes penang is bigger because they put kedah territory too.

@@Sugargliding not to say compeletly kedah ..just took sungai petani and kulim only and for sure the size of land smaller thn metro jb and klang valley for ur info.. And of cos past time during 2013 i got work at singapore and live in jb .. For me or some of my fren whos came cari makan at there ,we never feel anyting hype about jb compare here or singapore. Seriusly .even there all lot skycappers start to built there bcos of sizelable land and near to singapore, still heritage and happening lifestlye at penang much more better
TBH as a tourist.. I can stay in Penang more than a week. Delicious food, beautiful scenery, many low budget attractions (important for backpackers). But, If I go Johor Bahru 2 days is long enough, everything so expensive. Just imagine.. .JPO, Legoland. Go to Kota Tinggi waterfall also need to pay ticket wth. Templer Park better plus free.. Nightlife also less attractive other than eating and pasar karat. Better I come back in KL or go to Singapore jalan jalan or the best option go to Melaka.
Please ask the local if you are not familiar where to get the nightlife in JB. You can enjoy your night at Berjaya Waterfront, Jalan Abdullah Tahir, Plaza Sentosa or Austin Heights if you never heard of all these nice place before.
I haven’t to Penang only psss by on the way to Langkawi, but JB since child till adulthood couldn’t count, because stay in Singapore in the early stay at woodland now in the west area between Jurong and Bukit Batok.

Sebab nak g R&F mall dri kwsan Meldrum pun xder shortcut walk..kna ikut gak JB sentral..so ade jauh sket arr...pasal bangunan lama tu dan buruk..ade gak arr npk bangunan yg x cantik dan terbengkalai kan yela rosak la pandangan.. bahagian Meldrum walk tu mcm kwsan black area pun ade tapi ade jugak hotel situ dan kwasan die kotor skit arr..xder hiburan mcm karaoke @ lain2x area tu..so raser mcm x happening tpt tu..nasib la ade Pasar karat berdekatan..lagi satu tengah bandar tu mcm kurang tpt beriadah mcm Waterfront ker @ taman bunga...pasar kraf tangan ker...sbbrya ade tpt reaksi @ tpt menarik tapi tu kna pegi jauh sket dri tgh bandar...mcm Senibong restoran tu,Legoland kan..but overall Bangunan kat JB bermacam2x design seperti Zarith sofiah building tu dan canggih..ade gak tarikan jambatan Lantai berkaca kat bangunan Komtar tu...dan ade jugak bangunan unik BERwarna HITAM!!..hehe..Rangkaian jalan raya pun overall nice cangih dan lebi kemas dari kuala lumpur..Kat KL flyover dah beserabut dah dah mcm sarang labah2x..semak sangat....so kira ok la JB..maybe kurang proper planning sket kan interm of attraction location, infrastructure, dan public transport yg lebi baik..

I am from JB, and currently based in Penang. Penang feels a bit crowded and congested due to limited space available. Parking can also be troublesome during holiday seasons. But Penang (Georgetown) is definitely friendlier for pedestrians.
I do hope to see metro networks being introduced ASAP in other cities because statistically speaking, Penang and JB have over 1 mil populations each.
Both have their uniqueness, but i choose jb..
Privilege to have stayed both places for many years. JBs progress is largely due to Singapore without which it will not be what it is today. With the crazy pace of development, JB will get even more congested, a big drop in living standards and expensive as well. Penang growth is by the good work of its people and local government making it the Silicon Valley Of Malaysia and a well known international tourist destination. Penang has very good food and and despite new developments, they have succeeded in retaining the old world charm and less stressful place to live.

Johor kan besaq. So banyak benda boleh buat. Penang kecik. Padat. Trafik sesak nak mampuih. Johor Ada sultan yg kaya. Dekat dengan singapura lagi. So opportunity banyak dekat situ. Penang just Penang. Complete but not perfect. Jiran kami kedah & perak, Jauh dari sempadan negara. Tapi aku orang penang suka penang, dan hanya nak kerja & duduk di penang. Change and development need time, but they are sure things to take place. JB with its vast land to be developed and shaped will one day becomes among the most pleasant cities to live in, and it is sooner than many of us would have thought. As a JB inhabitant since 1989, I witness the ever rapid change this city have been undergoing.
I choose Penang because the city development planning is more organised than JB.. Don't forget the heritage building and foods. 👌

Johor Bahru is catching up fast. Was there recently and im very impress with the fast improvement. Some of the areas look so much a like developed areas in Selangor. Watchout Penang. Both cities should have develop their own brt or lrt system by now

JB was supposed to have it's own transportation hub like KL Sentral & Penang Sentral but it was scrapped? It is called Kempas Sentral and have the same features as KL Sentral (KTM, Bus, Taxi, offices, residential & more..). hope miracle happen for Kempas Sentral!

JB sentral vs Penang sentral baru betul bro..larkin sentral tu cuma terminal bas dan teksi..JB sentral tu pintu masuk Malaysia dari Singapura..hub keretapi,bas, dan teksi..keretapi elektrik dari gemas pun akan disambung hingga ke JB sentral..JB sentral dah wujud dulu sebelum Penang sentral, ni dulu Projek Gerbang selatan bersepadu..kalau jadi projek jambatan bengkok Malaysia - Singapura mesti lawo gila JB..ade la jugak mercu tanda kemegahan,tp dibatalkan😅

Jb developement is more even and large in area. It consist of 3 municipals: Majlis Bandaraya Johor Bahru, Majlis Bandaraya Iskandar Puteri, MP Pasir Gudang.
Johor I feel like too much of development but it doesn't seem much grow in terms jobs opportunity but it really develop a lot compare to Penang hopefully won't over develop . Johor will seem much more develop because of Singapore tourist spend their weekend shopping in JB mall and it cause a lot of shopping mall r booming this few years. But in term of enjoy and life balance I will choose Penang because it was not really over develop

guys, I know the purpose of this video and I'm living in Johor since Sultan Iskandar became Agong. Please, Johor is far from Penang. Penang is the best and far more beautiful place. Its the most beautiful and well arranged township in Malaysia. Johor is like a huge mess getting re-arranged. Thats all I want to say.

Penang is unique. Things are easily assesible. Penang with Hill to Beaches/historical sites. Many international schools with different syllabus from American/English/Japanese. Many historical schools in Penang. Not foregetting tourist spots in city/only cable car/train that pulls from the bottom - only few left in the world. Ride up the hill is like driving through the forest unlike those pull from the top where you view tree top only. Penang has a well known International Cruise Centre with Giant cruise liners calling each week. JB is overshadowed by Spore

I'm from Singapore. I think Johor has all the right facilities and attractions in place or being built however it does need to solve the connectivity between Singapore and JB. The causeway jams (in normal times) on a weekend have deterred a lot of people from going there. If Johor can solve that, the sky is the limit. My frank opinion on Penang is that it has an X factor compared to Johor. It has a character and soul that Johor does not have so much of. So for me, the head says Johor but the heart says Penang.
Both cities are special though..but in term of infrastructure wise, penang wins hands down..penang has Rapid Penang, and even have Sightseeing City tour Bus...and speaking about food, its the food capital of Malaysia..The Penang Airport is third largest in Malaysia.!! However JB wins towards Skyscrappers and innovative and creative design buildings..and JB also have a lots of Malls and also has international attractions such as Hello kitty land and Legoland...but however i do think Penang is more advanced and offers alots of attractions than JB though
