Out of my own experience JB is maybe not perse the 2nd best city in Malaysia. Though it’s nice to visit as a tourist for a few days. Including JB I can recommend to go to; George Town, Malacca, Ipoh, Kuanta, and KL if you’re interested to visit Malaysian cities. What Malaysian cities do you recommend to go to for people who are visiting from outside of Malaysia?

The problem with many of the least popular states in Malaysia is due to the lack of efforts to promote and upgrade its infrastructures to be more tourist friendly. Johor has many hidden gems that are worthy of highlighting and make it more inviting to visitors. But then again, due to lack of effort from the relevant people. What a pity. There're some really good Chinese restaurants in Johor that sells delicious seafood dishes.😊

Very nice guys. Loved some of the streets there, the double story properties aligning them so colourful and reminded me a bit of Old Phuket town. The food amazing value, that upstairs restaurant for the two dishes and apple juices a very affordable 15 Oz dollars for the lot. The night market food way cheaper. Johor people, stop joking. If you want to build jb to be self-sufficient, step 1 is to have people. You must have at least 2 mil people live, work and study in JB. Almost all Johoreans must come back to JB from foreign country. Otherwise, wait long long ok?

Can see that your female companion looks reluctant to be in Johor from her facial and verbal expressions. Maybe JB is too run-down for her standard.

I thought the owner of the Chaiwalla coffee stall was you? Just kidding.
For me, JB is not the second best city in Malaysia. It is only a city for Singaporeans to shop at the weekend or during the festive season because the price of petrol and other necessities is much cheaper from Singapore. That causes the prices of some food and necessities to be more expensive than in Kuala Lumpur.
