Bro, the fact that the platform provides actually encrypted communication (unlike facebook, etc) is not a downside, that is a great thing to have. People are responsible for their own actions, not the platforms they use to communicate with. This video shouldn't say "telegram is awful because it's secure" but "telegram's security is great, as proven by many criminals using it".
The drugs tho
@@Mrcoolfish2 again, the fact that some people will use encryption for bad things doesn't mean that no one should not get access to it. You will not solve the drug problem by banning privacy anyway.

While it is completely possible for people to commit crime using any means of private communication this doesn't mean we should completely abandon privacy. It's still important, it's still a basic human right.

I work in check fraud for a major bank. It’s awful - your statistics of it doubling are 100% accurate.

yeah. encryption is a tool, anyone can just go and invent it and use it, don't stop the tool, stop the people abusing it
Telegram is a basic messenger like WhatsApp but with more privacy options and features. Its really popular in eastern europe.
Well, because its made by a Russian.
Yes and? You dont worry about your privacy unless you re a criminal. Telegram should NOT exist like this. Its clearly brining way too much bad stuff than good stuff. Its a net negative more society. Only p3dos and criminals or russsians would defend this app.
This is absolutely disgusting.. telegram has tons of cool features, it's super easy and intuitive to use, and now it's growing a bad reputation among English-speaking audience.
I love telegram! Mostly, you just find what you're looking for
I like telegram for the cool stickers
yea it sucks i personally use telegram to text family all the time
Not just English, Chinese as well.
Its not "growing a bad reputation" this is what telegrams reputation has been since its inception dude. Dafaq? It wasnt a legit app used by normal people until years after it came out.
I used this app for about 10 years since i was a kid, simply if you don't look for trouble you won't face any, the only reason you can face scammers are if you're in a weird group/bot chat or searched some questionable stuff and joined in otherwise your tag or phone number isn't just posted on billboards to use
thats what i was thinking about, if your looking to get scammed you are gonna get scammed no matter the app
Exactly this.
Sometimes, whether online or in real life, trouble actually finds you. Especially when it’s searching… the bogeyman exists and common sense is your best weapon.

whatever criminals use for comunication you should use too, because it's an indicator of how good the privacy is :3
I think telegram here is not the best option, as it requires ur phone number to register at first. Secondly, encryption is completed in secret chats only(privacy policy 3.3.1). 3. At 4.1 privacy policy nothing is told about providing the data to the government.
Furthermore, telegram now is much more than a simple messenger, it is being developed in a form of a super app. For instance, there are bots that present chatgpt or midjourney without a registration, you even able to purchase and sale crypto over there. Possibly you heard about notcoin, which was a simple game in telegram, but now it is coin with 2b$ capitalization.
Overall, telegram is more likely to be in the middle between spyware messengers such as whatsapp or others and more private ones, such as jabber or matrix
What are you trying to hide bro?
Next time when the police will come to your house without a warrant, just let them search, as you have nothing to hide - same logic
@@Satoshic_ It just sounds that you actually have something to hide and you use telegram to consume illegal stuff.

This video basically proves that Telegram is one of the few actually good messengers with great privacy (unlike Facebook, WhatsApp, etc.). Private communication is a basic human right and it is the responsibility of the community on how to use it.
Total bullshit, telegram does not have any security, it doesn't have e2e encryption by default, just a some protocol which is not secure
Don't those other apps also offer end-end encryption? Although yes not as anon as Telegram.

Telegram itself isn't inherently 18+. It offers strong encryption and privacy features, which can be misused for sharing inappropriate content. Additionally, Telegram allows for large groups and channels, making it difficult to moderate all content. While Telegram has filters in place to restrict certain types of content, users can opt out of them.

What social media website doesn't have a dark side to them? If you think about it you use a bunch of those websites a day and you don't always think about what lies beneath the surface. I feel that it is not necessary to remind you about the stunt WhatsApp tried to pull when they announced that they were going to share every user's personal information, that is what caused Telegram to grow in users. If I were you I would be talking about WhatsApp and not Telegram.
I don't appreciate the video's tone of being bad because it's secure. We will never get to a point where selling our privacy is the only way for us to be safe.
