My son bought me this present for Christmas as he's seen me using FL Studio. Its a brilliant little device and its really come in handy. Thanks for doing the videos they really come in handy.
FINALLY!!!! Something for FL Studio!!!! Also amazing...That you already did a tutorial! Thank you this is exactly what I needed to see what the fire is capable of. Can't wait for more vids.
I would just like to say thanks for saving me a lot of time noodling and figuring out stuff by myself on this controller and also for providing a great overview on how it works. Very excited to put some more time using it as it provides a complete new perspective on creation process in FL studio.
ALRIGHT I BOUGHT ONE GEE. thanks though i have watched this video like 5 - 10 times by now, so much good information packed into one video. thank you again.
This is great man. I was gifted this and an fl studio license a year ago and was completely clueless. I'm in a much better place now and have been able to crank out beats daily (they vary in quality lol but I've definitely got the workflow nailed) and your channel has helped so much.
Thank you for this guide. I just picked one up and I am determined to make it a significant helper in my workflow, and without this guide that process would have taken a lot longer and been more painful. So thank you!
Wow this is actually a really great device. Well done. I imagine once you really get into this and know your way around it your work flow would be super fast.
i've watched a few of your videos, and everytime i learn something i go and try it for myself, it helps a lot. you're awesome dude, keep up the good work
First reviewer Ive watched so far who has actually read the manual. When you understand how the device is meant to work, you are better prepared to make an assesment of the product. I saw a dude bashing this controller and he hadn't even figured out how to switch between pattern and song mode without the mouse. Got dudes reviewing a product they dont even know how to use. Thank you for the detailed information! Respect.
doesnt come with a manual only 1 piece of paper that goes over the basic button combos. They have some new marketing thing where they force you to watch videos sponsored through this guy if you want to learn instead of the usual manual that explains everything.
I have six years of experience with FL Studio. I love what I see in the Akai Fire and can't wait to get one. This is the best review I have seen on the Akai Fire so far.
i was in guitar center staring broken hearted at a wall of novation launchkeys again when out of nowhere i see this thing. fastest purchase i ever made.
I was choosing between this and an arturia keylab, and went with this because it was like almost $100 cheaper. And honestly surprised of how great this device is for the price. And the function it has with fl studio just makes it super helpful with your workflow. And the build quality is pretty solid.
@@DEARZISMO pretty great. It feels very durable which was one of my concerns just because its hard to tell that kind of stuff without actually having the device in your hands. But it is actually pretty great for fl studio, just because you almost dont need a mouse, you can just navigate with the knobs, and its easier to adjust individual notes on the fly very quick. Would definitely recommend if you have fl studio and are looking for a relatively cheap midi
I bought it today! It felt like i was playing Final Fantasy for the first time!! So mysterical! UwU Much love to you. Your instructions always make me happy!
This is perfect for FL Studio! My only concern in velocity sensitive pads for finger drumming. Is this included, or will it be included in the Akai Fire 2?
I think i might buy this and a laptop as an portable studio thing, you can fit both in a laptop case and be on your way, great stuff. Also excited to see what the future holds now that the gate has been opened for an fls controller... Great video, subbed.
This is really badass not gonna lie like yea you can just do it all using keyboard and mouse but this still makes it seem like making a track has a more unique and fun feeling to it I’m definitely gonna save to buy this looks worth the money to me 🙌🏾
Hi. Love your vids. In this video You are taking about a video How to set up performance mode but I can’t find it in your description. Can you add the link please? Keep up the good work and thanks again for your vids. They are really helpful
Is there anyway to duplicate a pattern to be twice as long ? (The equivalent of doing ctrl + B) Also is there any way to access features of the piano roll? For example, can you access the arpeggiator function (ctrl + a)? This looks really interesting but those are two key features to my workflow.
Amazing demonstration of the Akai Fire. Thanks so much! This looks like to would be a great controller for NI Battery. Just curious if the pad colors would correspond to the colors assigned for the pads in Battery?
Finding it a great setup for impromptu coffee table/loungeroom use, think being able to switch between step seq/pad/keyboard modes (jack of all, master of none) in such a compact package actually makes it very capable. It's not going to replace a proper pad controller or midi keyboard, but it gets the job done for a quick setup if your someone who needs a little physical hardware control. (Clicking mouse on a piano roll has never felt natural to me.)
zup my friend @In The Mix, so... is this still top notch for fl studio in 2023? what other equips would you recommend for trap beatmaking. cheers for brazil
So with all the talk around the new novation flkey controllers It reminded me that I never looked into the Akai Fire. It looks interesting. Is it possible to do a comparison video between these two? What they do similarly and what they do differently?
I watched one of your videos about 20 times and could not figure out how to do recording bass. You have shown that in the video but really fast - how to use NOTE mode to record bass and I was not able to figure that out... Let's say - I create a pattern and then as you suggested I would like to play and record a bass. I tried and jumped around and no success. The pattern was stopping and recording was after the pattern stopped etc. This is the first controller of this kind in my life. Can you help with any short instruction considering newbies?
How do you stretch hi hats to get triplets or 1/4 1/8th notes on fire? I see how to make pattern stretch 2/4 bars but how would you snap grid to 1/16th 1/8th etc to spice up hi hats/rhythms? Thanks for any help or video link for this.
Push has more features and with push 1 (akai build) the custon scripts allow more usability with other daws 🤫but these two 2gether with rewire/vst = infinity gauntlet
I got one last night and I am PLEASED. No it's not Push 2 or Maschine Mk3 but it's a start. For $200 U get the controller and software, U cannot beat that. This a steal!!!
UPDATE: After my initial excitement and just being honest with myself and the FL community, in my opinion it's not all that. My Maschine Jam can basically do everything the Fire does. Also I wasn't aware that the software is only a trial version. Being able to use the step sequencer on the hardware is cool. Unless U are a gear junky like me I wouldn't recommend anyone buying it. I'd wait to see if an update is coming down the line
some of this stuff is way easier using the mouse or keyboard like scrolling through mixer tracks or browser seems a bit obtuse, I know some people wanted this to work with the mobile version but it doesnt. It is still great for a sequence / drum / piano roll inserter as the price is so great
Thank you very much for the most exhaustive video on the subject! Can i ask you a crucial question for me: can you change the step in akai fire? Like, say, i want to have triplets on my percussions, and have not 1/4 step size. Or i want to have 1/16 percs? Sorry for the wording, do hope to get some help from some of you guys..
Nice work Michael! ;)
When will rewire be available? I'd love to have this alongside my push 1 and ableton live🔥
FL STUDIO by Image-Line Software imagine line this is what we always wanted 😢🤣
Just ordered mine 🔥thanks for the reviews
Drkk I ordered my a yesterday...it comes at 1030am...so fedex says lol

I connect 4 of them together and nothing beats them for FL control. Love the 🔥
this was probably the only genuinely helpful tutorial I've ever watched THANK YOU

Cool. I would like to see a 16x16 version with assign scale for the piano roll.
@Kirin Blevins 256 pad is actually too much, it is equal to 4 launchpad 😂😂😂

Just watched you on Official Image Line Channel, Keeping it 💯
Thank you Mike :)
@@inthemix Can this be used along side the FLS SHORTCUT KEYBOARD?
Just watched the imagine line video on utube, super happy for this great achivement of yours man
You are my "go-to" for stuff I don't know. Just got an AKAI Fire, and of course, here you are with a video. Thank You.

I just watched this without sound and still found it to be informative! :D
Game Changer!!! FL Just won me back with the help of AKAI...
This little piece of gear is a game changer.. also, great tutorial!
Your video is perfect. Clear, concise, thorough, yet to the point. Well done. This definitely helped me.

Thanks Micheal for doing the tutorial this is wht I really wanted coz I myself was not able to figure out how to use this efficiently
You're welcome :)
JUST UNBOXED MINE, AMAZING AND CONFUSING SO THANK YOU FOR THE INFORMATION AS ALWAYS MIKE.
Excellent tutorial. I don;t even use FL but you explained this very clearly. Now I understand that this device is for use with that DAW

the perfect guide
First off, great video! Where can I find the Slicex Akai Fire tutorial you mentioned? I looked through all your videos but couldn't find it.
Can you do a video on how to use akai fire making 808's
mby i will start make a music? :)
thinking about it all my live.
Tnx very much for this tutorial
Super nice. But will it also work in studio one?
This is it chiefs, but can you arrange patterns in the playlist editor from the controller? or do you have to use your mouse ?
Works great in Bitwig too
